Salme 26

1 (Af David.) Skaf mig ret, o HERRE, thi jeg vandrer i Uskyld, stoler på HERREN uden at vakle.

Unto the end. A Psalm of David. Judge me, Lord, for I have been walking in my innocence, and by hoping in the Lord, I will not be weakened.

2 Ransag mig, HERRE, og prøv mig, gransk mine Nyrer og mit Hjerte;

Examine me, Lord, and test me: enkindle my temperament and my heart.

3 thi din Miskundhed står mig for Øje, jeg vandrer i din Sandhed.

For your mercy is before my eyes, and I am serene in your truth.

4 Jeg tager ej Sæde blandt Løgnere, blandt falske kommer jeg ikke.

I have not sat with the council of emptiness, and I will not enter with those who carry out injustice.

5 Jeg hader de ondes Forsamling, hos gudløse sidder jeg ej.

I have hated the assembly of the malicious; and I will not sit with the impious.

6 Jeg tvætter mine Hænder i Renhed, at jeg kan vandre omkring dit Alter, HERRE,

I will wash my hands among the innocent, and I will surround your altar, O Lord,

7 for at istemme Takkesang, fortælle om alle dine Undere.

so that I may hear the voice of your praise and describe all your wonders.

8 HERRE, jeg elsker dit Hus, det Sted, hvor din Herlighed bor.

O Lord, I have loved the beauty of your house and the dwelling place of your glory.

9 Bortriv ikke min Sjæl med Syndere, mit Liv med blodstænkte Mænd,

O God, do not let my soul perish with the impious, nor my life with the men of blood,

10 i hvis Hænder er Skændselsdåd, hvis højre er fuld af Bestikkelse.

in whose hands are iniquities: their right hand has been filled by bribes.

11 Jeg har jo vandret i Uskyld, forløs mig og vær mig nådig!

But as for me, I have been walking in my innocence. Redeem me, and have mercy on me.

12 Min Fod står på den jævne Grund, i Forsamlinger vil jeg love HERREN.

My foot has stood firm in the straight path. In the churches, I will bless you, O Lord.
