Salme 138

1 (Af David.) Jeg vil prise dig HERRE, at hele lovsynge dig for Guderne;

I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to with my whole heart. Before the deities, I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to you.

2 jeg vil tilbede, vendt mod dit hellige Tempel, og mere end alt vil jeg prise dit Navn for din Miskundheds og Trofastheds Skyld; thi du har herliggjort dit Ord.

I will bow down toward your holy temple, and yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your Name for your chesed ·loving-kindness· and for your truth; for you have exalted your Name and your Word above all.

3 Den Dag jeg råbte, svared du mig, du gav mig Mod, i min Sjæl kom Styrke.

In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.

4 Alle Jordens Konger skal prise dig, HERRE, når de hører din Munds Ord,

All the kings of the earth will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to Adonai, for they have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· the words of your mouth.

5 og synge om HERRENs Veje; thi stor er HERRENs Ære,

Yes, they will sing of the ways of Adonai; for great is the kavod Yahweh ·weighty glory of He sustains breathing·.

6 thi HERREN er ophøjet, ser til den ringe, han kender den stolte i Frastand.

For though Adonai is high, yet he looks after the lowly; but the proud, he knows from afar.

7 Går jeg i Trængsel, du værger mig Livet, mod Fjendernes Vrede udrækker du Hånden, din højre bringer mig Frelse.

Though I walk in the middle of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me.

8 HERREN vil føre det igennem for mig, din Miskundhed, HERRE, varer evindelig. Opgiv ej dine Hænders Værk!

Adonai will fulfill that which concerns me; your chesed ·loving-kindness·, Adonai, endures forever. Don’t forsake the works of your own hands.
