1 Massaiten Agur, Jakes Søns ord. Manden siger: Træt har jeg slidt mig, Gud, træt har jeg slidt mig, Gud, jeg svandt hen;
[the] words of - Agur [the] son of Jakeh the oracle [the] utterance of the man to Ithiel to Ithiel and Ukal.
2 thi jeg er for dum til at regnes for Mand, Mands Vid er ikke i mig;
That [am] stupid I more than anyone and not [the] understanding of a person [belongs] to me.
3 Visdom lærte jeg ej, den Hellige lærte jeg ikke at kende.
And not I have learned wisdom and knowledge of [the] holy [one] I know.
4 Hvo opsteg til Himlen og nedsteg igen, hvo samlede Vinden i sine Næver, hvo bandt Vandet i et Klæde, hvo greb fat om den vide Jord? Hvad er hans Navn og hans Søns Navn? Du kender det jo.
Who? has he gone up heaven - and has he come down? who? has he gathered [the] wind - in hands his who? has he wrapped [the] waters - in cloak who? has he set up all [the] ends of [the] earth what? [is] name his and what? [is] [the] name of son his for you know.
5 Al Guds Tale er ren, han er Skjold for dem, der lider på ham.
Every word of God [is] refined [is] a shield he for [those who] take refuge in him.
6 Læg intet til hans Ord, at han ikke skal stemple dig som Løgner.
May not you add to words his lest he should rebuke you and you will be proved a liar.
7 Tvende Ting har jeg bedet dig om, nægt mig dem ej, før jeg dør:
Two [things] I ask from with you may not you withhold [them] from me before I will die.
8 Hold Svig og Løgneord fra mig: giv mig hverken Armod eller Rigdom, men lad mig nyde mit tilmålte Brød,
Deceitfulness - and a word of falsehood put far away from me poverty and wealth may not you give to me let devour me [the] food of allotment my.
9 at jeg ikke skal blive for mæt og fornægte og sige: "Hvo er HERREN?" eller blive for fattig og stjæle og volde min Guds Navn Men.
Lest I should be satisfied - and I will deny and I will say who? [is] Yahweh and lest I should become impoverished and I will steal and I will seize [the] name of God my.
10 Bagtal ikke en Træl for hans Herre, at han ikke forbander dig, så du må bøde.
May not you slander a slave to (master his *Q(K)*) lest he should curse you and you will be held guilty.
11 Der findes en Slægt, som forbander sin Fader og ikke velsigner sin Moder,
A generation father its it curses and mother its not it blesses.
12 en Slægt, der tykkes sig ren og dog ej har tvættet Snavset af sig,
A generation [is] pure in own eyes its and from excrement its not it has been washed.
13 en Slægt med de stolteste Øjne, hvis Blikke er fulde af Hovmod.
A generation how! they are raised eyes its and eyelids its they are lifted up.
14 en Slægt, hvis Tænder er Sværd hvis Kæber er skarpe Knive, så de æder de arme ud af Landet, de fattige ud af Menneskers Samfund.
A generation - [are] swords teeth its and [are] knives jaw bones its to devour afflicted [people] from [the] earth and needy [people] from humankind.
15 Blodiglen har to Døtre: Givhid, Givhid! Der er tre, som ikke kan mættes, fire, som aldrig får nok:
[belong] to A leech - two daughters give - give three [things] they not they are satisfied four [things] not they say enough.
16 Dødsriget og det golde Moderliv, Jorden, som aldrig mættes af Vand, og Ilden, som aldrig får nok. (Sheol h7585)

17 Den, som håner sin Fader og spotter sin gamle Moder, hans Øje udhakker Bækkens Ravne, Ørneunger får det til Æde.
An eye - [which] it mocks a father so it may despise obedience of a mother they will pluck out it [the] ravens of [the] wadi and they will eat it [the] young of an eagle.
18 Tre Ting undres jeg over, fire fatter jeg ikke:
Three [things] they they are [too] wonderful for me (and four [things] *Q(k)*) not I know them.
19 Ørnens Vej på Himlen, Slangens Vej på Klipper, Skibets Vej på Havet, Mandens Vej til den unge Kvinde.
[the] way of The eagle - in the heavens [the] way of a snake on a rock [the] way of a ship in [the] heart of [the] sea and [the] way of a man with a young woman.
20 Så er en Ægteskabsbryderskes Færd: Hun spiser og tørrer sig om Munden og siger: "Jeg har ikke gjort noget ondt!"
[is] thus - [the] way of A woman adulterous she eats and she wipes clean mouth her and she says not I have done wickedness.
21 Under tre Ting skælver et Land, fire kan det ikke bære:
Under three [things] it quakes [the] earth and under four [things] not it is able to bear up.
22 En Træl, når han gøres til Konge, en Nidding, når han spiser sig mæt,
Under a slave for he will become king and a fool for he will be satisfied food.
23 en bortstødt Hustru, når hun bliver gift, en Trælkvinde, når hun arver sin Frue.
Under a hated [woman] for she will be married and a female servant for she will dispossess mistress her.
24 Fire på Jorden er små, visere dog end Vismænd:
Four [things] they [are] small [things] of [the] earth and they [are] wise [things] made wise.
25 Myrerne, de er et Folk uden Styrke, samler dog Føde om Somren;
The ants [are] a people not strong and they prepared in the summer food their.
26 Klippegrævlinger, et Folk uden Magt, bygger dog Bolig i Klipper;
Rock badgers [are] a people not mighty and they made in the rock[s] home their.
27 Græshopper, de har ej Konge, drager dog ud i Rad og Række;
A king not [belongs] to the locust and it went out dividing all of it.
28 Firbenet, det kan man gribe med Hænder, er dog i Kongers Paladser.
A lizard in [two] hands you will grasp and it [is] in [the] palaces of a king.
29 Tre skrider stateligt frem, fire har statelig Gang:
Three [things] they [are] doing well of step and four [things] [are] doing well to walk.
30 Løven, Kongen blandt Dyrene, som ikke viger for nogen;
A lion [is] mighty among the animal[s] and not it turns back from before anything.
31 en sadlet Stridshest, en Buk, en Konge midt i sin Hær.
A rooster of loins or a male goat and a king a band of soldiers with him.
32 Har du handlet som Dåre i Overmod, tænker du ondt, da Hånd for Mund!
If you have been foolish by exalting yourself and if you have plotted hand to a mouth.
33 Thi Tryk på Mælk giver Ost, Tryk på Næsen Blod og Tryk på Vrede Trætte.
For squeezing of milk it brings forth butter and squeezing of a nose it brings forth blood and squeezing of anger it brings forth strife.
