Malakias 4
1 Thi se, Dagen kommer, luende som en Ovn; og alle de frække og alle, som øver Gudløshed, skal blive som Strå, og Dagen, som kommer, skal lade dem gå op i Luer, siger Hærskarers HERRE, så der ikke levnes Rod eller Gren at dem.
For lo! the day, cometh, that burneth as a furnace, —and, all the proud and everyone who worketh lawlessness, shall be, stubble, and the day that cometh, shall consume them utterly, saith Yahweh of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 Men for eder, som frygter mit Navn, skal Retfærds Sol opgå med Lægedom under sine Vinger, og I skal gå ud og boltre eder som Kalve, der kommer fra Stalden,
So shall the sun of righteousness, arise to you who revere my Name, with healing in his wings, —and ye shall come forth and leap for joy like calves let loose from the stall;
3 og trampe de gudløse ned; thi de skal blive til Støv under eders Fodsåler, den bag jeg griber ind, siger Hærskarers HERRE.
And ye shall tread down the lawless, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet, —in the day when I am working with effect, saith Yahweh of hosts.
4 Kom min Tjener Moses's Lov i Hu, hvem jeg pålagde Vedtægter og Lovbud om alt Israel på Horeb.
Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, —which I commanded him in Horeb, for all Israel, statutes and regulations.
5 Se, jeg sender eder Profeten Elias, før HERRENs store og frygtelige Dag kommer.
Lo! I am sending unto you Elijah the prophet, —before the coming of the great and awful day of Yahweh;
6 Han skal vende Fædrenes Hjerte til Sønnerne og Sønnernes til Fædrene, at jeg ikke skal komme og slå Landet med Band.
And he shall bring back the heart of the fathers unto the children, and the heart of the children unto their fathers, —lest I come, and smite the land, with utter destruction.
