Josua 2
1 Josua, Nuns Søn, udsendte hemmeligt fra Sjittim to Mænd som Spejdere med den Befaling: "Gå hen og undersøg Landet, særlig Jeriko!" De gav sig da på Vej og kom ind i et Hus til en Skøge ved Navn Rahab, og der lagde de sig til Hvile.
And he sent Joshua [the] son of Nun from Shittim two men spies secretly saying go see the land and Jericho and they went and they went [the] house of a woman a prostitute and name her [was] Rahab and they lay down there.
2 Da blev der meldt Kongen af Jeriko: "Se, der er kommet nogle israelitiske Mænd hertil i Nat for at udspejde Landet!"
And it was told to [the] king of Jericho saying here! men they have come hither this night from [the] people of Israel to spy out the land.
3 Og Kongen af Jeriko sendte Bud til Rahab og lod sige: "Udlever de Mænd, som er kommet til dig; thi de er kommet for at udspejde hele Landet!"
And he sent [the] king of Jericho to Rahab saying bring out the men who came to you who they came to house your for to spy out all the land they have come.
4 Men Kvinden tog og skjulte de to Mænd og sagde: "Ja, Mændene kom ganske vist til mig, men jeg vidste ikke, hvor de var fra;
And she took the woman [the] two the men and she hid him and she said - right they came to me the men and not I knew from where [were] they.
5 og da Porten skulde lukkes i Mørkningen, gik Mændene bort. Jeg ved ikke, hvor de gik hen! Sæt hurtigt efter dem, så kan I indhente dem!"
And it was the gate [about] to shut at darkness and the men they went out not I know where? did they go the men pursue quickly after them for you will overtake them.
6 Men hun havde ført dem op på Taget og skjult dem under Hørstænglerne, som hun havde bredt ud på Taget.
And she she had taken up them the roof towards and she had hidden them among [the] flax of the tree that had been arranged by her on the roof.
7 Mændene satte så efter dem ad Vejen til Jordan hen til Vadestederne, og Porten blev lukket, så snart Forfølgerne var udenfor.
And the men they pursued after them [the] road of the Jordan to the fords and the gate people closed after just when they had gone out the pursuers after them.
8 Før de to Mænd endnu havde lagt sig, kom hun op på Taget til dem;
And they not yet they had lain down! and she she went up to them on the roof.
9 og hun sagde til dem: "Jeg ved, at HERREN har givet eder Landet, thi vi er grebet af Rædsel for eder, og alle Landets Indbyggere er skrækslagne over eder.
And she said to the men I know that he has given Yahweh to you the land and that it has fallen dread your on us and that they have melted away all [the] inhabitants of the land because of you.
10 Thi vi har hørt, hvorledes HERREN lod Vandet i det røde Hav tørre bort foran eder, da I drog ud af Ægypten, og hvad I gjorde ved de to Amoriterkonger hinsides Jordan, Sihon og Og, på hvem I lagde Band.
For we have heard this: he dried up Yahweh [the] waters of [the] sea of reed[s] from before you when came out you from Egypt and [that] which you did to [the] two [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [was] on [the] other side of the Jordan to Sihon and to Og whom you totally destroyed them.
11 Da vi hørte det, blev vi slaget af Rædsel og tabte alle Modet over for eder; thi HERREN eders Gud er Gud oppe i Himmelen og nede på Jorden.
And we heard and it melted heart our and not it arose again spirit in anyone because of you for Yahweh God your he [is] God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.
12 Men tilsværg mig nu ved HERREN, at I vil vise Godhed mod mit Fædrene hus, ligesom jeg har vist Godhed mod eder, og giv mig et sikkert Tegn på,
And therefore swear please to me by Yahweh for I have done with you loyalty and you will do also you with [the] household of father my loyalty and you will give to me a sign of faithfulness.
13 at I vil lade min Fader og Moder, mine Brødre og Søstre og alt, hvad deres er, blive i Live og redde os fra Døden!"
And you will let live father my and mother my and brothers my and (sisters my *Q(K)*) and all who [belong] to them and you will deliver lives our from death.
14 Da sagde Mændene til hende: "Vi indestår med vort Liv for eder, hvis du ikke røber vort Forehavende; og når HERREN giver os Landet, vil vi vise dig Godhed og Trofasthed!"
And they said to her the men life our for you to die if not you will tell business our this and it will be when gives Yahweh to us the land and we will do with you loyalty and faithfulness.
15 Derpå hejsede hun dem med et Reb ned gennem Vinduet, thi hendes Hus lå ved Bymuren, og hun boede ved Muren;
And she let down them with rope through the window for house her [was] in [the] wall of the city wall and in the city wall she [was] dwelling.
16 og hun sagde til dem: "Gå ud i Bjergene, for at eders Forfølgere ikke skal træffe eder, og hold eder skjult der i tre Dage, indtil eders Forfølgere er vendt tilbage; efter den Tid kan I gå eders Vej!"
And she said to them the hill country towards go lest they should meet you the pursuers and you will hide yourselves there three days until return the pursuers and after you will go to way your.
17 Mændene sagde til hende: "På denne Måde vil vi bære os ad med at holde den Ed, du har ladet os sværge
And they said to her the men [will be] free we from oath your this which you made swear us.
18 Når vi kommer ind i Landet, skal du binde denne røde Snor fast i det Vindue, du har hejst os ned igennem, og så skal du samle din Fader og din Moder, dine Brødre og hele dit Fædrenehus hos dig i Huset.
Here! we [are] about to come in the land [the] cord of [the] thread of the scarlet this you will bind in the window which you let down us in it and father your and mother your and brothers your and all [the] household of father your you will gather to you the house towards.
19 Enhver, som så går uden for din Husdør, må selv tage Ansvaret for sit Liv, uden at der falder Skyld på os; men hvis der lægges Hånd på nogen af dem, som bliver i Huset hos dig, hviler Ansvaret på os.
And it will be every [one] who he will go out from [the] doors of house your - the outside towards blood his [will be] on own head his and we [will be] free and every [one] who he will be with you in the house blood his [will be] on head our if a hand it will be on him.
20 Hvis du derimod røber vort Forehavende, er vi løst fra den Ed, du lod os sværge!"
And if you will tell business our this and we will be free from oath your which you made swear us.
21 Da sagde hun: "Lad det være, som I siger!" Så lod hun dem drage bort; og hun bandt den røde Snor fast i Vinduet.
And she said according to words your [be] so it and she sent off them and they went and she bound [the] cord of the scarlet in the window.
22 Men de begav sig ud i Bjergene og blev der i tre Dage, indtil deres Forfølgere var vendt tilbage. Og Forfølgerne ledte overalt på Vejen uden at finde dem.
And they went and they came the hill country towards and they remained there three days until they returned the pursuers and they searched the pursuers in all the way and not they found [them].
23 Derpå begav de to Mænd sig på Tilbagevejen, og efter at være steget ned fra Bjergene gik de over Floden; og de kom til Josua, Nuns Søn, og fortalte ham alt, hvad der var hændet dem.
And they returned [the] two the men and they went down from the hill country and they passed over and they came to Joshua [the] son of Nun and they recounted to him all the [things that] had found with them.
24 Og de sagde til Josua: "HERREN har givet hele Landet i vor Magt, og alle Landets Indbyggere er skrækslagne over os!"
And they said to Joshua that he has given Yahweh in hand our all the land and also they have melted away all [the] inhabitants of the land because of us.
