1 HERRENs Ord kom til mig således:
The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2 Du, Menneskesøn, istem en Klagesang over Tyrus og sig til Tyrus,
Now, you son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;
3 som ligger ved Adgangen til Havet og driver Handel med Folkeslagene på de mange fjerne Strande: Så siger den Herre HERREN: Tyrus, du siger: "Fuldendt i Skønhed er jeg!"
And say unto Tyrus, O you that are situated at the entry of the sea, which are a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus says the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, you have said, I am of perfect beauty.
4 De bygged dig midt i Havet, fuldendte din Skønhed.
Your borders are in the midst of the seas, your builders have perfected your beauty.
5 De tømred af Senircypresser hver Planke i dig, fra Libanon hented de Cedre at lave din Mast,
They have made all your ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for you.
6 af Basans højeste Ege skar de dig Årer, de lagde dit Dæk af Fyr fra Kittæernes Strande;
Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; the company of the Ashurites have made your benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.
7 dit Sejl var ægyptisk Byssus i broget Væv, dit Tag var Purpur i blåt og rødt fra Elisjas Strande.
Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which you spread forth to be your sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered you.
8 Zidons og Arvads Folk var Rorkarle for dig, om Bord var de kyndigste i Zarepta, de var dine Styrmænd,
The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were your seamen: your wise men, O Tyrus, that were in you, were your pilots.
9 de ældste og kyndigste i Gebal, de bøded din Læk. Alle Havets Skibe med Søfolk var hos dig for at omsætte dine Varer.
The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in you your repairer of breaches: all the ships of the sea with their seamen were in you to occupy your merchandise.
10 Folk fra Persien, Lydien og Put var i din Hær som Krigsfolk, de ophængte Skjolde og Hjelme i dig; de gav dig Glans.
They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in your army, your men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in you; they set forth your loveliness.
11 Arvaditerne og deres Hær stod rundt på dine Mure, Gammaditerne på dine Tårne; de ophængte deres Skjolde rundt på dine Mure, de fuldendte din Skønhed.
The men of Arvad with your army were upon your walls round about, and the Gammadims (mercenaries) were in your towers: they hanged their shields upon your walls round about; they have made your beauty perfect.
12 Tarsis var din Handelsven, fordi du havde alskens Gods i Mængde; Sølv, Jern, Tin og Bly gav de dig for dine Varer.
Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in your fairs.
13 Javan, Tubal og Mesjek drev Handel med dig; Trælle og Kobberkar gav de dig i Bytte.
Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in your market.
14 Togarmas Hus gav dig Køreheste, Rideheste og Muldyr for dine Varer.
They of the house of Togarmah traded in your fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.
15 Rodosboerne drev Handel med dig, mange fjerne Strande var dine Handelsvenner; Elfenben og Ibenholt bragte de dig som Vederlag.
The men of Dedan were your merchants; many isles were the merchandise of your hand: they brought you for a present horns of ivory and ebony.
16 Edom var din Handelsven, fordi du havde Varer i Mængde; Karfunkler, Purpur, brogede Tøjer, fint Linned, Koraller og Rubiner gav de dig for dine Varer.
Syria was your merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of your making: they occupied in your fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.
17 Juda og Israels Land drev Handel med dig; Hvede fra Minnit, Bagværk, Honning, Olie og Mastiksbalsam gav de dig i Bytte.
Judah, and the land of Israel, they were your merchants: they traded in your market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.
18 Damaskus var din Handelsven fordi du havde alskens Gods i Mængde; de kom med Vin fra Helbon og Uld fra Zahar.
Damascus was your merchant in the multitude of the wares of your making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.
19 Vedan og Javan gav Sager fra Uzal for dine Varer; smeddet Jern, Hassia og Kalmus fik du i Bytte.
Dan also and Javan going back and forth occupied in your fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in your market.
20 Dedan drev Handel med dig med Sadeldækkener til Ridning.
Dedan was your merchant in precious clothes for chariots.
21 Araberne og alle Kedars Fyrster var dine Hardelsvenner; med Lam, Vædre og Bukke handlede de med dig.
Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with you in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they your merchants.
22 Sabas og Ramas Handelsfolk drev Handel med dig; den allerfineste Balsam, alle Slags Ædelsten og Guld gav de dig for dine Varer.
The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were your merchants: they occupied in your fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.
23 Karan, Kanne og Eden, Assyrerne og hele Medien drev Handel med dig;
Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were your merchants.
24 de handlede med dig med smukke Klæder, Purpurkapper, brogede Tøjer, farvede Tæpper, tvundet og fastsnoet Reb på dine Markeder;
These were your merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among your merchandise.
25 Tarsisskibene tjente dig ved din Omsætning. Du fyldtes, blev såre tung midt ude i Havet.
The ships of Tarshish did sing of you in your market: and you were replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.
26 I rum Sø fik de dig ud, dine roende Mænd; da knuste en Østenstorm dig midt ude på Havet;
Your rowers have brought you into great waters: the east wind has broken you in the midst of the seas.
27 dit Gods, dine Varer, din Vinding, dine Søfolk og Styrmænd, de, der bøded din Læk, dine Handelsfolk, alt dit krigsfolk, som var om Bord, alt Mandskab i din Midte styrter i Havets dyb, den Dag du falder.
Your riches, and your fairs, your merchandise, your seamen, and your pilots, your repairer of breaches, and the occupiers of your merchandise, and all your men of war, that are in you, and in all your company which is in the midst of you, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of your ruin.
28 Markerne skælver ved dine Styrmænds Skrig.
The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of your pilots.
29 Alle, der sidder ved Årer, går da fra Borde, Søfolk og alle Styrmænd går da i Land;
And all that handle the oar, the seamen, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;
30 de løfter Røsten over dig, klager bittert; på Hovedet kaster de Jord og vælter sig i Støvet,
And shall cause their voice to be heard against you, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:
31 klipper sig skaldet for dig, klæder sig i Sæk, begræder dig, bitre i Hu, med Sjælekvide,
And they shall make themselves utterly bald for you, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for you with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.
32 istemtner jamrende Klage over dig, klager: Ak, hvor Tyrus er øde midt i Havet!
And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?
33 Når din Vinding kom ind fra Havet, mætted du mange Folkeslag; med dit meget Gods og dine Varer gjorde du Jordens konger rige.
When your wares went forth out of the seas, you filled many people; you did enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.
34 Nu led du Skibbrud på Havet, på Vandets Dyb, dine Varer og alt dit Mandskab gik under med dig.
In the time when you shall be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters your merchandise and all your company in the midst of you shall fall.
35 Over dig gyser alle, som bor på de fjerne Strande, deres Konger er slagne af Angst, deres Ansigt blegner.
All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at you, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.
36 Deres Kræmmere hånfløjter ad dig, til Rædsel blev du, er borte for evigt.
The merchants among the people shall hiss at you; you shall be a terror, and never shall be any more.
