The sons of Levi, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

2 Kehats Sønner: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron og Uzziel.

And, the sons of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 Amrams Børn: Aron, Moses og Mirjam. Arons Sønner: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar og Itamar.

And, the children of Amram, Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam, —and, the sons of Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

4 Eleazar avlede Pinehas; Pinehas avlede Abisjua;

Eleazar, begat Phinehas, Phinehas, begat Abishua;

5 Abisjua avlede Bukki; Bukki avlede Uzzi;

and, Abishua, begat Bukki, and, Bukki, begat Uzzi;

6 Uzzi avlede Zeraja; Zeraja avlede Merajot;

and, Uzzi, begat Zerahiah, and, Zerahiah, begat Meraioth;

7 Merajot avlede Amarja; Amarja avlede Ahitub;

Meraioth, begat Amariah, and, Amariah, begat Ahitub;

8 Ahitub avlede Zadok; Zadok avlede Ahima'az;

and, Ahitub, begat Zadok, and, Zadok, begat Ahimaaz;

9 Ahima'az avlede Azarja; Azarja avlede Johanan;

and, Ahimaaz, begat Azariah, and, Azariah, begat Johanan,

15 Men Jozadak drog med, da HERREN lod Juda og Jerusalem føre i Landflygtighed af Nebukadnezar.

and, Jehozadak, departed, when Yahweh carried away Judah and Jerusalem into captivity, —by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

17 Navnene på Gersons Sønner var følgende: Libni og Sjim'i.

And, these, are the names of the sons of Gershom, Libni and Shimei.

18 Kehats Sønner: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron og Uzziel.

And, the sons of Kohath, were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 Meraris Sønner: Mali og Nusji. Det er Leviternes Slægter efter deres Fædrenehuse.

The sons of Merari, Mahli and Mushi. And, these, are the families of Levi by their fathers:

The sons of Kohath, Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son;

23 hans Søn Elkana, hans Søn Ebjasaf, hans Søn Assir,

Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son;

24 hans Søn Tahat, hans Søn Uriel, hans Søn Uzzija og hans Søn Sja'ul.

Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

25 Elkanas Sønner: Amasaj og Ahimot,

And, the sons of Elkanah, Amasai, and Ahimoth.

26 hans Søn Elkana, hans Søn Zofaj, hans Søn Tohu,

As for Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah, Zophai his son, and Nahath his son;

27 hans Søn Eliab, hans Søn Jeroham, hans SønElkana oghans Søn Samuel.

31 Følgende er de, hem David overdrog Sangen i HERRENs Hus, efter at Arken havde fået et Hvilested,

And, these, are they whom David caused to stand, as the servants of song, in the house of Yahweh, when he had given rest unto the ark;

so they became attendants before the habitation of the tent of meeting, with song, until Solomon built the house of Yahweh, in Jerusalem, —and they took their stand according to their prescribed manner over their work.

36 en Søn af Elkaoa, en Søn af Joel, en Søn af Azarja, en Søn af Zefanja,

37 en Søn af Tahat, en Søn af Assir, en Søn af Ebjasaf, en Søn af Hora,

38 en Søn af Jizhar, en Søn af Kehat, en Søn af Levi, en Søn af Israel.

And, the sons of Merari, their brethren, on the left hand, Ethan son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch; —

45 en Søn af Hasjabja, en Søn af Amazja, en Søn af Hilkija,

son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah, —

46 en Søn af Amzi, en Søn af Bani, en Søn af Sjemer,

47 en Søn af Mali en Søn af Musji, en Søn af Merari, en Søn af Levi.

48 Deres Brød Leviterne var pligtige at gøre alt Arbejdet ved Guds Hus's Bolig;

Howbeit, their brethren, the Levites, were given, for all the work of the habitation, of the house of God.

49 men Aron og hans Sønner ofrede Røgofre på Brændofferalteret og Røgofferalteret, de udførte alt Arbejde i det Allerhelligste og skaffede Israel Soning, ganske som Guds Tjener Moses havde påbudt.

But, Aaron and his sons, were to make perfume upon the altar of ascending-sacrifice, and upon the altar of incense, according to all the service of the holy of holies, —even for putting a propitiatory-covering over Israel, according go all that, Moses, the servant of God, commanded.

52 hans Søn Merajot, hans Søn Amarja, hans Søn Ahitub,

53 hans Søn Zadok og hans Søn Ahima'az.

And, these, are their dwelling-places, according to their encampments, in their boundary, —pertaining to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, for, theirs, was the lot:

55 gav man Hebron i Judas Land med tilhørende Græsmarker;

so they gave them Hebron, in the land of Judah, and the pasture lands thereof, round about it;

56 men Byens Landområde og Landsbyer gav, man Haleb, Jefunnes Søn.

but, the field-land of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb son of Jephunneh.

57 Arons Sønner gav, man Tilflugtsbyen Hebron, Libna. med Græsmarker. Jattir, Esjtemoa, med Græsmarker,

And, to the sons of Aaron, gave they, the cities of refuge—Hebron, and Libnah, with her pasture lands, —and Jattir and Eshtemoa, with her pasture lands;

58 Hilen med Græsmarker, Debir med Græsmarker,

and Hilen with her pasture lands, Debir, with her pasture lands;

59 Asjan med Græsmarker, Jutta med Græsmarker og Bet-Sjemesj med Græsmarker:

and Ashan, with her pasture lands, and Bethshemesh, with her pasture lands;

60 Af Benjamins Stamme: Gibeon med Græsmarker, Geba med Græsmarker, Alemet med Græsmarker og Anatot med Græsmarker. I alt tretten Byer med Græsmarker.

and, out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba, with her pasture lands, and Allemeth, with her pasture lands, —and Anathoth, with her pasture lands; —all their cities, were thirteen cities, throughout their families.

61 Kehats øvrige Sønner tilfaldt efter deres Slægter ved Lodkastning ti Byer af Efraims og Dans Stammer og Manasses halve Stamme.

And, unto the rest of the sons of Kohath—of the families of the tribe of Ephraim and of the tribe of Dan, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, by lot ten cities.

62 Gersons Sønner tilfaldt efter deres Slægter tretten Byer af Issakars, Asers og Naftalis Stammer og Manasses halve Stamme i Basan.

And, to the sons of Gershom, by their families—out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 Meraris Sønner tilfaldt efter deres Slægter ved Lodkastning tolv Byer af Rubens, Gads og Zebulons Stammer.

And, unto sons of Merari, by their families—out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, by lot twelve cities.

64 Så gav Israeliterne Leviterne Byerne med Græsmarker.

So then the sons of Israel gave, to the Levites, —the cities and the pasture lands thereof;

65 De gav dem ved Lodkastning af Judæernes, Simeoniternes og Benjaminiternes Stammer de ovenfor nævnte Byer.

yea they gave, by lot, out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.

66 Kehatiternes Slægter fik de dem ved Lodkastning tildelte Byer af Efraims Stamme;

But, as for some of the families of the sons of Kohath, they had the cities of their lot, out of the tribe of Ephraim;

67 man gav dem Tilflugtsbyen Sikem med Græsmarker i Efraims Bjerge, Gezer med Græsmarker,

and they gave unto them the cities of refuge—Shechem and her pasture lands, in the hill country of Ephraim, —and Gezer, with her pasture lands;

68 Jokmeam med Græsmarker. Bet-Horon med Græsmarker,

and Jokmeam, with her pasture lands, and Beth-heron, with her pasture lands;

69 Ajjalon med Græsmarker og Gat: Rimmon med Græsmarker;

and Aijalon, with her pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon, with her pasture lands;

70 af Manasses halve Stamme Aner med Græsmarker og Jibleam med Græsmarker; det tilfaldt de øvrige Hehatiters Slægter.

and, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner, with her pasture lands, and Bileam, with her pasture lands, —for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.

And, out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee, with her pasture lands, and Hammon, with her pasture lands, —and Kiryathaim, with her pasture lands.

77 De øvrige Leviter, Merariterne, tilfaldt af Zebulons Stamme Rimmon med Græsmarker og Tabor med Græsmarker;

Unto the rest of the sons of Merari—out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono, with her pasture lands, —Tabor, with her pasture lands.

78 og hinsides Jordan over for Jeriko, østen for Jordan, af Rubens Stamme Bezer i Ørkenen med Græsmarker, Jaza med Græsmarker,

And, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east of the Jordan—out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness, with her pasture lands, —and Jahzah, with her pasture lands;

79 Kedemot med Græsmarker og Mefa'at med Græsmarker;

and Kedemoth, with her pasture lands, and Mephaath, with her pasture lands.

80 af Gads Stamme Ramot i Gilead med Græsmarker, Mahanajim med Græsmarker,

And, out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead, with her pasture lands, —and Mahanaim, with her pasture lands;

81 Hesjbon med Græsmarker og Ja'zer med Græsmarker.

and Heshbon, with her pasture lands, and Jazer, with her pasture lands.
