Salme 99

1 HERREN har vist, han er Konge, Folkene bæver, han troner paa Keruber, Jorden skælver!

Yahweh, hath become king, Let the peoples, tremble, He is enthroned on the cherubim, Let the earth, shake.

2 Stor er HERREN paa Zion, ophøjet over alle Folkeslag;

Yahweh, in Zion, is great, And, high, is he over all the peoples.

3 de priser dit Navn, det store og frygtelige; hellig er han!

Let them thank his Name—great and reverend, Holy, is he!

4 Du er en Konge, der elsker Retfærd, Retten har du grundfæstet, i Jakob øved du Ret og Retfærd.

Yea, with the strength of a king—justice, he loveth, —Thou, hast established equity, Justice and righteousness in Jacob, thou, hast wrought.

5 Ophøj HERREN vor Gud, bøj eder for hans Fødders Skammel; hellig er han!

Exalt Yahweh our God, And bow down at his footstool, Holy, is he!

6 Moses og Aron er blandt hans Præster og Samuel blandt dem, der paakalder hans Navn; de raaber til HERREN, han svarer;

Moses and Aaron, [were] among his priests, And, Samuel, [was] among them who were calling upon his Name, Who were calling upon Yahweh, and, he, used to answer them:

7 i Skystøtten taler han til dem, de holder hans Vidnesbyrd, Loven, han gav dem;

In the pillar of cloud, used he to speak unto them, They kept his testimonies, and the statute he gave them.

8 HERRE vor Gud, du svarer dem. Du var dem en Gud, som tilgav og frikendte dem, for hvad de gjorde.

O Yahweh our God! thou, answeredst them, —A pardoning GOD, thou becamest to them, Yet one bringing vengeance on their deeds.

9 Ophøj HERREN vor Gud, bøj eder for hans hellige Bjerg, thi hellig er HERREN vor Gud!

Exalt Yahweh our God, And bow down towards his holy mountain, For, holy, is Yahweh our God.
