< Salme 47 >

1 Til Sangmesteren. Af Koras Sønner. En Salme.
You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!
2 Alle Folkeslag, klap i Hænderne, bryd ud i jublende Lovsang for Gud!
Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!
3 Thi HERREN, den Højeste, er frygtelig, en Konge stor over hele Jorden.
He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].
4 Han bøjede Folkefærd under os og Folkeslag under vor Fod;
He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.
5 han udvalgte os vor Arvelod, Jakob hans elskedes Stolthed. (Sela)
God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.
6 Gud steg op under Jubel, HERREN under Hornets Klang.
Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!
7 Syng, ja syng for Gud, syng, ja syng for vor Konge;
God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!
8 thi han er al Jordens Konge, syng en Sang for Gud.
God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.
9 Gud har vist, han er Folkenes Konge, paa sin hellige Trone har Gud taget Sæde. Folkenes Stormænd samles med Folket, der tilhører Abrahams Gud; thi Guds er Jordens Skjolde, højt ophøjet er han!
The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
