< Salme 38 >

1 En Salme af David. Lehazkir.
Adonai, don’t rebuke me in your wrath, neither chasten me in your hot displeasure.
2 HERRE, revs mig ej i din Vrede, tugt mig ej i din Harme!
For your arrows have pierced me, your hand presses hard on me.
There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation, neither is there any health in my bones because of my habitual sin ·missing the mark·.
4 Intet er karskt paa min Krop for din Vredes Skyld, intet uskadt i mine Ledemod for mine Synders Skyld;
For my depravities (moral evils) have gone over my head. As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.
5 thi over mit Hoved skyller min Brøde som en tyngende Byrde, for tung for mig.
My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, because of my foolishness.
6 Mine Saar baade stinker og raadner, for min Daarskabs Skyld gaar jeg bøjet;
I am pained and bowed down greatly. I go mourning all day long.
For my waist is filled with burning. There is no soundness in my flesh.
I am faint and severely bruised. I have groaned by reason of the anguish of my heart.
Lord, all my desire is before you. My groaning is not hidden from you.
10 HERRE, du kender al min Attraa, mit Suk er ej skjult for dig;
My heart throbs. My strength fails me. As for the light of my eyes, it has also left me.
My 'ahav ·affectionate lovers· and my friends stand aloof from my plague. My kinsmen stand far away.
12 For min Plages Skyld flyr mig Ven og Frænde, mine Nærmeste holder sig fjernt;
They also who seek after my life lay snares. Those who seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all day long.
But I, as a deaf man, don’t sh'ma ·hear obey·. I am as a mute man who does not open his mouth.
Yes, I am as a man who does not sh'ma ·hear obey·, in whose mouth are no reproofs.
For in you, Adonai, do I hope. You will answer, Lord my God.
16 Thi til dig staar mit Haab, o HERRE, du vil bønhøre, Herre min Gud,
For I said, “Don’t let them gloat over me, or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips.”
17 naar jeg siger: »Lad dem ikke glæde sig over mig, hovmode sig over min vaklende Fod!«
For I am ready to fall. My pain is continually before me.
18 Thi jeg staar allerede for Fald, mine Smerter minder mig stadig;
For I will declare my depravity (moral evil). I will be sorry for my habitual sin ·missing the mark·.
19 thi jeg maa bekende min Skyld, maa sørge over min Synd.
But my enemies are vigorous and many. Those who hate me without reason are numerous.
They who also render evil for good are adversaries to me, because I follow what is good.
Don’t forsake me, Adonai. My God, don’t be far from me.
Hurry to help me, Lord, my salvation.
