1 En Salme af David. Giver HERREN, I Guds Sønner, giver HERREN Ære og Pris,
“A psalm of David.” Give to Jehovah, O ye sons of God! Give to Jehovah glory and praise!
2 giver HERREN hans Navns Ære; tilbed HERREN i helligt Skrud!
Give to Jehovah the glory due to his name; Worship Jehovah in holy attire!
3 HERRENS Røst er over Vandene, Ærens Gud lader Tordenen rulle, HERREN, over de vældige Vande!
The voice of Jehovah is heard above the waters; The God of glory thundereth, -Jehovah above the great waters.
4 HERRENS Røst med Vælde, HERRENS Røst i Højhed,
The voice of Jehovah is powerful; The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty;
5 HERRENS Røst, den splintrer Cedre, HERREN splintrer Libanons Cedre,
The voice of Jehovah breaketh the cedars; Yea, Jehovah breaketh the cedars of Lebanon;
6 faar Libanon til at springe som en Kalv og Sirjon som den vilde Okse!
Yea, he maketh them to leap like a calf, —Lebanon and Sirion like a young buffalo.
7 HERRENS Røst udslynger Luer.
The voice of Jehovah divideth the flames of fire.
8 HERRENS Røst faar Ørk til at skælve, HERREN faar Kadesj's Ørk til at skælve!
The voice of Jehovah maketh the wilderness tremble; Yea, Jehovah maketh the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.
9 HERRENS Røst faar Hind til at føde, og den gør lyst i Skoven. Alt i hans Helligdom raaber: »Ære!«
The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds bring forth, And layeth bare the forests; While, in his palace, every one declareth his glory.
10 HERREN tog Sæde og sendte Vandfloden, HERREN tog Sæde som Konge for evigt.
Jehovah sitteth above the flood; Yea, Jehovah sitteth king for ever.
11 HERREN give Kraft til sit Folk, HERREN velsigne sit Folk med Fred!
Jehovah will give strength to his people; Jehovah will bless his people with peace.
