< Salme 20 >
1 Til Sangmesteren. En Salme af David.
“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;
2 Paa Trængselens Dag bønhøre HERREN dig, værne dig Jakobs Guds Navn!
May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;
3 Han sende dig Hjælp fra Helligdommen, fra Zion styrke han dig;
May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)
4 han komme alle dine Afgrødeofre i Hu og tage dit Brændoffer gyldigt! (Sela)
May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.
5 Han give dig efter dit Hjertes Attraa, han fuldbyrde alt dit Raad,
We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.
6 at vi maa juble over din Frelse, løfte Banner i vor Guds Navn! HERREN opfylde alle dine Bønner!
Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Nu ved jeg, at HERREN frelser sin Salvede og svarer ham fra sin hellige Himmel med sin højres frelsende Vælde.
Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.
8 Nogle stoler paa Heste, andre paa Vogne, vi sejrer ved HERREN vor Guds Navn.
They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.
9 De synker i Knæ og falder, vi rejser os og kommer atter paa Fode. HERRE, frels dog Kongen og svar os, den Dag vi kalder!
O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].
