Salme 108

1 En Sang. En Salme af David.

“A song or psalm of David.” My heart is firm, O God; I will sing and give praise, even with my spirit.

2 Mit Hjerte er trøstigt, Gud, mit Hjerte er trøstigt; jeg vil synge og lovprise dig, vaagn op, min Ære!

Awake, psaltery and harp: I will wake up the morning-dawn.

3 Harpe og Citer, vaagn op, jeg vil vække Morgenrøden.

I will give thee thanks among the people, O Lord: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

4 Jeg vil takke dig, HERRE, blandt Folkeslag, lovprise dig blandt Folkefærd;

For great above the heavens is thy kindness, and thy truth reacheth even unto the skies.

5 thi din Miskundhed naar til Himlen, din Sandhed til Skyerne.

Exalt thyself above the heavens, O God; and above all the earth thy glory.

6 Løft dig, o Gud, over Himlen, din Herlighed være over al Jorden!

In order that thy beloved may be delivered: help with thy right hand, and answer me.

7 Til Frelse for dine elskede hjælp med din højre, bønhør os!

God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult, I will divide Shechem, and the valley of Succoth will I measure out.

8 Gud talede i sin Helligdom: »Jeg vil udskifte Sikem med Jubel, udmaale Sukkots Dal;

Mine id Gil'ad, and mine is Menasseh; Ephraim also is the strong-hold of my head; of Judah are my chiefs.

9 mit er Gilead, mit er Manasse, Efraim er mit Hoveds Værn, Juda min Herskerstav,

Moab is my washpot; upon Edom will I cast my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

10 Moab min Vaskeskaal, paa Edom kaster jeg min Sko, over Filisterland jubler jeg.«

Who will bring me into the fortified city? who will lead me as far as Edom?

11 Hvo bringer mig til den befæstede By, hvo leder mig hen til Edom?

Behold, it is thou, O God, who hast cast us off; and thou, O God, goest not forth with our armies.

12 Har du ikke, Gud, stødt os fra dig? Du ledsager ej vore Hære.

Give us help against the assailant; for vain is the help of man.

13 Giv os dog Hjælp mod Fjenden! Blændværk er Menneskers Støtte. Med Gud skal vi øve vældige Ting, vore Fjender træder han ned!

Through God shall we do valiantly; for he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
