4 Mosebog 26

1 Efter denne Plage talede HERREN til Moses og Eleazar, Præsten Arons Søn, og sagde:

And it came to pass after the plague, That the Lord spoke unto Moses and unto Elazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

2 »Hold Mandtal over hele Israeliternes Menighed fra Tyveaarsalderen og opefter, Fædrenehus for Fædrenehus, alle vaabenføre Mænd i Israel!«

Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by the descent from their fathers, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.

3 Da mønstrede Moses og Præsten Eleazar dem paa Moabs Sletter ved Jordan over for Jeriko

And Moses with El'azar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho, saying,

4 fra Tyveaarsalderen og opefter, som HERREN havde paalagt Moses. Og Israeliterne, som var udvandret fra Ægypten, var følgende:

[Take the sum of the people, ] from twenty years old and upward; as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.

5 Ruben, Israels førstefødte; Rubens Sønner: Fra Hanok stammer Hanokiternes Slægt, fra Pallu Palluiternes Slægt,

Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben, of Chanoch, the family of the Chanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

6 fra Hezron Hezroniternes Slægt og fra Karmi Karmiternes Slægt.

Of Chezron, the family of the Chezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

7 Det var Rubeniternes Slægter, og de af dem, som mønstredes, udgjorde 43 730.

These are the families of the Reubenites; and those that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

8 Pallus Søn var Eliab;

And the sons of Pallu: Eliab.

9 Eliabs Sønner: Nemuel, Datan og Abiram; det var den Datan og den Abiram, Menighedens udvalgte, som satte sig op imod Moses og Aron sammen med Koras Tilhængere, da de satte sig op imod HERREN;

And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are Dathan and Abiram, men called to the assembly, who quarreled against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korach, at the time they quarreled against the Lord;

10 og Jorden aabnede sit Gab og slugte dem sammen med Kora, da hans Tilhængere omkom, idet Ilden fortærede de 250 Mænd, og de blev et Tegn til Advarsel.

When the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korach, while that company died, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign.

11 Men Koras Sønner omkom ikke.

But the sons of Korach did not die.

12 Simeons Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Nemuel stammer Nemueliternes Slægt, fra Jamin Jaminiternes Slægt, fra Jakin Jakiniternes Slægt,

The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Yamin, the family of the Yaminites; of Yachin, the family of the Yachinites;

13 fra Zera Zeraiternes Slægt og fra Sja'ul Sja'uliternes Slægt.

Of Zerach, the family of the Zarchites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.

14 Det var Simeoniternes Slægter, 22 200.

These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.

15 Gads Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Zefon stammer Zefoniternes Slægt, fra Haggi Haggiternes Slægt, fra Sjuni Sjuniternes Slægt,

The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Chaggi, the family of the Chaggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;

16 fra Ozni Ozniternes Slægt, fra Eri Eriternes Slægt,

Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of 'Eri, the family of the 'Erites;

17 fra Arod Aroditernes Slægt og fra Ar'eli Ar'eliternes Slægt.

Of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites;

18 Det var Gads Sønners Slægter, de af dem, som mønstredes, 40 500.

These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.

19 Judas Sønner var Er og Onan, men Er og Onan døde i Kana'ans Land.

The sons of Judah were 'Er and Onan; and 'Er with Onan died in the land of Canaan.

20 Judas Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Sjela stammer Sjelaniternes Slægt, fra Perez Pereziternes Slægt og fra Zera Zeraiternes Slægt;

And the sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Parzites; of Zerach, the family of the Zarchites.

21 Perez's Sønner: Fra Hezron stammer Hezroniternes Slægt og fra Hamul Hamuliternes Slægt.

And the sons of Perez were: of Chezron, the family of the Chezronites; of Chamul, the family of the Chamulites.

22 Det var Judas Slægter, de af dem, som mønstredes, 76 500.

These are the families of Judah, according to those that were numbered of them, seventy and six thousand and five hundred.

23 Issakars Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Tola stammer Tolaiternes Slægt, fra Pua Puniternes Slægt;

The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola', the family of the Tola'ites; of Puva, the family of the Punites;

24 fra Jasjub Jasjubiternes Slægt og fra Sjimron Sjimroniternes Slægt.

Of Yashub, the family of the Yashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.

25 Det var Issakars Slægter, de af dem, som mønstredes, 64 300.

These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, sixty and four thousand and three hundred.

26 Zebulons Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Sered stammer Serediternes Slægt, fra Elon Eloniternes Slægt og fra Jale'el Jale'eliternes Slægt.

The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Yachleel, the family of the Yachleelites.

27 Det var Zebuloniternes Slægter, de af dem, som mønstredes, 60 500.

These are the families of the Zebulonites according to those that were numbered of them, sixty thousand and five hundred.

28 Josefs Sønners Slægter var følgende: Manasse og Efraim;

The sons of Joseph after their families are Menasseh and Ephraim.

29 Manasses Sønner: Fra Makir stammer Makiriternes Slægt; Makir avlede Gilead, fra Gilead stammer Gileaditernes Slægt;

The sons of Menasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir begat Gil'ad; of Gil'ad, the family of the Gil'adites.

30 Gileads Sønner var følgende: Fra Abiezer stammer Abiezriternes Slægt, fra Helek Helekiternes Slægt,

These are the sons of Gil'ad: of I'ezer, the family of the I'ezerites; of Chelek, the family of the Chelkites;

31 fra Asriel Asrieliternes Slægt, fra Sjekem Sjekemiternes Slægt,

And of Assriel, the family of the Assrielites; and of Shechem, the family of the Shichmites;

32 fra Sjemida Sjemidaiternes Slægt og fra Hefer Heferiternes Slægt;

And of Shemida', the family of the Shemida'ites; and of Chepher, the family of the Chephrites.

33 men Zelofhad, Hefers Søn, havde ingen Sønner, kun Døtre; Zelofhads Døtre hed Mala, Noa, Hogla, Milka og Tirza.

And Zelophehad the son of Chepher had no sons, but only daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Machlah, and No'ah, Choglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

34 Det var Manasses Slægter, og de af dem, som mønstredes, udgjorde 52 700.

These are the families of Menasseh; and those that were numbered of them were fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.

35 Efraims Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Sjutela stammer Sjutelaiternes Slægt, fra Beker Bekeriternes Slægt og fra Tahan Tahaniternes Slægt;

These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelach, the family of the Shuthalchites; of Becher, the family of the Bachrites; of Tachan, the family of the Tachanites.

36 Sjultelas Sønner var følgende: Fra Eran stammer Eraniternes Slægt.

And these are the sons of Shuthelach: of 'Eran, the family of the Eranites.

37 Det var Efraimiternes Slægter, de af dem, som mønstredes, 32 500. Det var Josefs Sønners Slægter.

These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred: these are the sons of Joseph after their families.

38 Benjamins Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Bela stammer Belaiternes Slægt, fra Asjbel Asjbeliternes Slægt, fra Ahiram Ahiramiternes Slægt,

The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela', the family of the Bal'ites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Achiram, the family of the Achiramites;

39 fra Sjufam Sjufamiternes Slægt og fra Hufam Hufamiternes Slægt.

Of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Chupham, the family of the Chuphamites.

40 Belas Sønner: Ard og Na'aman; fra Ard stammer Arditernes Slægt, fra Na'aman Na'amiternes Slægt.

And the sons of Bela' were Ard and Na'aman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites; and of Na'aman, the family of the Na'amites.

41 Det var Benjamins Sønners Slægter, og de af dem, som mønstredes, udgjorde 45 600.

These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and those that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.

42 Dans Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Sjuham stammer. Sjuhamiternes Slægt. Det var Dans Slægter, Slægt for Slægt.

These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shucham, the family of the Shuchamites; these are the families of Dan after their families.

43 Alle Sjuhamiternes Slægter, de af dem, som mønstredes, udgjorde 64 400.

All the families of the Shuchamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were sixty and four thousand and four hundred.

44 Asers Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Jimna stammer Jimniternes Slægt, fra Jisjvi Jisjviternes Slægt og fra Beri'a Beri'aiternes Slægt;

The children of Asher after their families: of Yimnah, the family of the Yimnites; of Yishvi, the family of the Yishvites; of Beri'ah, the family of the Beri'ites.

45 fra Beri'as Sønner: Fra Heber stammer Hebriternes Slægt og fra Malkiel Malkieliternes Slægt.

Of the sons of Beri'ah: of Cheber, the family of the Chebrites; of Malkiel, the family of the Makielites.

46 Asers Datter hed Sera.

And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serach.

47 Det var Asers Sønners Slægter, og de af dem, som mønstredes, udgjorde 53 400.

These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them, fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

48 Naftalis Sønners Slægter var følgende: Fra Jaze'el stammer Jaze'eliternes Slægt, fra Guni Guniternes Slægt,

The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Yachzeel, the family of the Yachzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;

49 fra Jezer Jezeriternes Slægt og fra Sjillem Sjillemiternes Slægt,

Of Yezer, the family of the Yizrites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.

50 Det var Naftalis Slægter, Slægt for Slægt, og de af dem, som mønstredes, udgjorde 45 400.

These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and those that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.

51 Det var dem af Israeliterne, som mønstredes, 601 730.

These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand, and one thousand, seven hundred and thirty.

52 HERREN talede fremdeles til Moses og sagde:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

53 Til dem skal Landet udskiftes til Arv og Eje efter de optalte Navne.

Unto these shall the land be divided for an inheritance according to the number of the names.

54 En stor Stamme skal du give en stor Arvelod, en lille Stamme en lille; enhver af dem skal der gives en Arvelod efter Tallet paa de mønstrede i den.

To the large tribe shalt thou give the more inheritance, and to the small shalt thou give the less inheritance: to each according to those that were numbered thereof shall its inheritance be given.

55 Dog skal Landet udskiftes ved Lodkastning; de skal have deres Arvelodder efter Navnene paa deres fædrene Stammer;

Nevertheless, through the lot shall the land be divided: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers shall they obtain their inheritance.

56 ved Lodkastning skal enhver Stamme, stor eller lille, have sin Arvelod tildelt.

By the decision of the lot shall the inheritance of each be divided, according as they are many or few.

57 Følgende er de af Leviterne, der mønstredes, Slægt for Slægt: Fra Gerson stammer Gersoniternes Slægt, fra Kehat Kehatiternes Slægt og fra Merari Merariternes Slægt.

And these are those that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershunites: of Kehath, the family of the Kehathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

58 Følgende er Levis Slægter: Libniternes Slægt, Hebroniternes Slægt, Maliternes Slægt, Musjiternes Slægt og Koraiternes Slægt. Kehat avlede Amram.

These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Chebronites, the family of the Machlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korchites; and Kehath begat 'Amran.

59 Amrams Hustru hed Jokebed, Levis Datter, som fødtes Levi i Ægypten; hun fødte for Amram Aron, Moses og deres Søster Mirjam.

And the name of 'Amram's wife was Yochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom [her mother] bore to Levi in Egypt; and she bore unto Amram, Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

60 For Aron fødtes Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar og Itamar.

And there were born unto Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, Elazar, and Ithamar.

61 Men Nadab og Abihu omkom, da de frembar fremmed Ild for HERRENS Aasyn.

And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered a strange fire before the Lord.

62 De af dem, der mønstredes, udgjorde 23 000, alle af Mandkøn fra en Maaned og opefter. De mønstredes nemlig ikke sammen med de andre Israeliter, da der ikke var givet dem nogen Arvelod blandt Israeliterne.

And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all the males from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was not given unto them any inheritance among the children of Israel.

63 Det var dem, der mønstredes af Moses og Præsten Eleazar, da disse mønstrede Israeliterne paa Moabs Sletter ved Jordan over for Jeriko.

These are those that were numbered by Moses and Elazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, opposite Jericho.

64 Blandt dem var der ingen, som var mønstret af Moses og Præsten Aron, da de mønstrede Israeliterne i Sinaj Ørken;

And among these there was not one man of those whom Moses and Aaron the priest had numbered, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.

65 thi HERREN havde sagt til dem, at de skulde dø i Ørkenen. Derfor var der ingen tilbage af dem undtagen Kaleb, Jefunnes Søn, og Josua, Nuns Søn.

For the Lord had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness: and there was not left of them one man, save Caleb the son of Yephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
