Malakias 4
1 Thi se, Dagen kommer, luende som en Ovn; og alle de frække og alle, som øver Gudløshed, skal blive som Straa, og Dagen, som kommer, skal lade dem gaa op i Luer, siger Hærskarers HERRE, saa der ikke levnes Rod eller Gren af dem.
For, behold, the day cometh, it burneth as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall set them ablaze, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 Men for eder, som frygter mit Navn, skal Retfærds Sol opgaa med Lægedom under sine Vinger, og I skal gaa ud og boltre eder som Kalve, der kommer fra Stalden,
But unto you that fear My name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall.
3 og trampe de gudløse ned; thi de skal blive til Støv under eders Fodsaaler, den Dag jeg griber ind, siger Hærskarers HERRE.
And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I do make, saith the LORD of hosts.
4 Kom min Tjener Moses's Lov i Hu, hvem jeg paalagde Vedtægter og Lovbud om alt Israel paa Horeb.
Remember ye the law of Moses My servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.
5 Se, jeg sender eder Profeten Elias, før HERRENS store og frygtelige Dag kommer.
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD.
6 Han skal vende Fædrenes Hjerte til Sønnerne og Sønnernes til Fædrene, at jeg ikke skal komme og slaa Landet med Band.
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the land with utter destruction.
