Jeremias 7
1 Det Ord, som kom til Jeremias fra HERREN:
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2 Staa hen i Porten til HERRENS Hus og udraab dette Ord: Hør HERRENS Ord, hele Juda, I, som gaar ind gennem disse Porte for at tilbede HERREN!
"Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, 'Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
3 Saa siger Hærskarers HERRE, Israels Gud: Bedrer eders Veje og eders Gerninger, saa vil jeg lade eder bo paa dette Sted.
Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4 Stol ikke paa den Løgnetale: Her er HERRENS Tempel, HERRENS Tempel, HERRENS Tempel!
Do not trust in lying words, saying, "The LORD's temple, The LORD's temple, The LORD's temple, are these."
5 Men bedrer eders Veje og eders Gerninger! Dersom I virkelig øver Ret Mand og Mand imellem,
For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;
6 ikke undertrykker den fremmede, den faderløse og Enken, ej heller udgyder uskyldigt Blod paa dette Sted, ej heller til egen Skade holder eder til fremmede Guder,
if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:
7 saa vil jeg til evige Tider lade eder bo paa dette Sted i det Land, jeg gav eders Fædre.
then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forevermore.
8 Se, I stoler paa Løgnetale, som intet baader.
Look, you trust in lying words, that can't profit.
9 Stjæle, slaa ihjel, hore, sværge falsk, tænde Offerild for Ba'al, holde eder til fremmede Guder, som I ikke kender til —
Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known,
10 og saa kommer I og staar for mit Aasyn i dette Hus, som mit Navn nævnes over, og siger: »Vi er frelst!« — for at gøre alle disse Vederstyggeligheder.
and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, "We are delivered"; that you may do all these abominations?
11 Holder I dette Hus, som mit Navn nævnes over, for en Røverkule? Men se, ogsaa jeg har Øjne, lyder det fra HERREN.
Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Look, I, even I, have seen it, says the LORD.
12 Gaa dog hen til mit hellige Sted i Silo, hvor jeg først stedfæstede mit Navn, og se, hvad jeg gjorde ved det for mit Folk Israels Ondskabs Skyld.
But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
13 Og nu, fordi I øver alle disse Gerninger, lyder det fra HERREN, og fordi I ikke vilde høre, naar jeg aarle og silde talede til eder, eller svare, naar jeg kaldte paa eder,
Now, because you have done all these works, says the LORD, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear; and I called you, but you did not answer:
14 derfor vil jeg gøre med Huset, som mit Navn nævnes over, og som I stoler paa, og med Stedet, jeg gav eder og eders Fædre, ligesom jeg gjorde med Silo;
therefore I will do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.
15 og jeg vil støde eder bort fra mit Aasyn, som jeg stødte alle eders Brødre bort, al Efraims Æt.
I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, all the descendants of Ephraim.
16 Men du maa ikke gaa i Forbøn for dette Folk eller frembære klage og Bøn eller trænge ind paa mig for dem, thi jeg hører dig ikke.
Therefore do not pray for this people, neither lift up a cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me; for I will not hear you.
17 Ser du ikke, hvad de har for i Judas Byer og paa Jerusalems Gader?
Do you not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18 Børnene sanker Brænde, Fædrene tænder Ild, og Kvinderne ælter Dejg for at bage Offerkager til Himmelens Dronning og udgyde Drikofre for fremmede Guder og krænke mig.
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
19 Mon det er mig, de krænker, lyder det fra HERREN, mon ikke sig selv til deres Ansigters Skam?
Do they provoke me to anger?" says the LORD. "Do they not provoke themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?"
20 Derfor, saa siger den Herre HERREN: Se, min Vrede og Harme udgyder sig over dette Sted, over Folk og Fæ, over Markens Træer og Jordens Frugt, og den skal brænde uden at slukkes.
Therefore thus says the LORD: "Look, my anger and my wrath shall be poured out on this place, on man, and on animal, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched."
21 Saa siger Hærskarers HERRE, Israels Gud: Læg eders Brændofre til eders Slagtofre og æd Kød!
Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat meat.
22 Thi dengang jeg førte eders Fædre ud af Ægypten, talede jeg ikke til dem eller bød dem noget om Brændoffer og Slagtoffer;
For I did not speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
23 men dette bød jeg dem: »I skal høre min Røst, saa vil jeg være eders Gud, og I skal være mit Folk; og I skal gaa paa alle de Veje, jeg byder eder, at det maa gaa eder vel.«
but this thing I commanded them, saying, 'Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.'
24 Men de hørte ikke og laante ikke Øre; de fulgte deres onde Hjertes Stivsind og gik tilbage, ikke fremad.
But they did not listen nor turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
25 Fra den Dag eders Fædre drog ud af Ægypten, og til i Dag har jeg Dag efter Dag, aarle og silde sendt eder alle mine Tjenere Profeterne;
Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
26 men de hørte ikke og laante ikke Øre; de gjorde Nakken stiv og øvede mere ondt end deres Fædre.
yet they did not listen to me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff: they did worse than their fathers."
27 Naar du siger dem alle disse Ord, hører de dig ikke, og kalder du paa dem, svarer de dig ikke.
"You shall speak all these words to them; but they will not listen to you: you shall also call to them; but they will not answer you.
28 Sig saa til dem: Det er det Folk, som ej hørte HERREN deres Guds Røst, det, som ej tog ved Lære; Sandhed er svundet, udryddet af deres Mund.
You shall tell them, 'This is the nation that has not listened to the voice of the LORD their God, nor received instruction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
29 Afklip dit Haar, kast det bort og klag paa de nøgne Høje! Thi HERREN har forkastet og bortstødt den Slægt, han var vred paa.
Cut off your hair, and throw it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for the LORD has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.'"
30 Thi Judas Sønner har gjort, hvad der er ondt i mine Øjne, lyder det fra HERREN; de har opstillet deres væmmelige Guder i Huset, som mit Navn nævnes over, for at gøre det urent;
"For the people of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight," says the LORD: "they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.
31 de har bygget Tofets Offerhøje i Hinnoms Søns Dal for at brænde deres Sønner og Døtre i Ilden, hvad jeg ikke har paabudt, og hvad aldrig var i min Tanke.
They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I did not command, nor did it come into my mind.
32 Se, derfor skal Dage komme, lyder det fra HERREN, da man ikke mere skal sige Tofet og Hinnoms Søns Dal, men Morddalen, og man skal jorde de døde i Tofet, fordi Pladsen ikke slaar til.
Therefore look, the days come," says the LORD, "that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor The Valley of Ben Hinnom, but The Valley of Slaughter: for they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury.
33 Og dette Folks Lig skal blive Himmelens Fugle og Jordens Dyr til Æde, og ingen skal skræmme dem bort.
The dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.
34 Og i Judas Byer og paa Jerusalems Gader gør jeg Ende paa Fryderaab og Glædesraab, Brudgoms Røst og Bruds Røst, thi Landet skal lægges øde.
Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land shall become a waste."
