Jeremias 25
1 Det Ord, som kom til Jeremias om alt Judas Folk i Josias's Søns, Kong Jojakim af Judas, fjerde Aar, det er Kong Nebukadrezar af Babels første Aar,
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (the same was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon),
2 og som Profeten Jeremias talte til alt Judas Folk og alle Jerusalems Borgere:
which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
3 Fra Amons Søns, Kong Josias af Judas, trettende Aar til den Dag i Dag, i fulde tre og tyve Aar er HERRENS Ord kommet til mig, og jeg talte til eder aarle og silde, men I hørte ikke;
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of Jehovah has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking. But ye have not hearkened.
4 og HERREN sendte aarle og silde alle sine Tjenere Profeterne til eder, men I hørte ikke; I bøjede ikke eders Øre til at høre,
And Jehovah has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, (but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear),
5 naar han sagde: »Omvend eder, hver fra sin onde Vej og sine onde Gerninger, at I fra Evighed til Evighed maa bo i det Land, jeg gav eder og eders Fædre;
saying, Return ye now each one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Jehovah has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even for evermore.
6 og hold eder ikke til andre Guder, saa I dyrker og tilbeder dem, og krænk mig ikke med eders Hænders Værker til eders Ulykke.«
And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the work of your hands. And I will do you no hurt.
7 Nej, I hørte mig ikke, lyder det fra HERREN, og saa krænkede I mig med eders Hænders Værker til eders Ulykke.
Yet ye have not hearkened to me, says Jehovah, that ye may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.
8 Derfor, saa siger Hærskarers HERRE: Fordi I ikke vilde høre mine Ord,
Therefore thus says Jehovah of hosts: Because ye have not heard my words,
9 vil jeg sende Bud efter alle Nordens Stammer, lyder det fra HERREN, og til Kong Nebukadrezar af Babel, min Tjener, og lade dem komme over dette Land og dets Indbyggere og over alle Folkene heromkring, og jeg vil ødelægge dem og gøre dem til Rædsel, Latter og Spot for evigt.
behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says Jehovah, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants of it, and against all these nations round about. And I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10 Jeg fjerner fra dem Fryderaab og Glædesraab, Brudgoms Røst og Bruds Røst, Kværnens Lyd og Lampens Skin,
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11 og hele dette Land skal blive til Ørk og Øde, og disse Folkeslag skal trælle for Babels Konge i halvfjerdsindstyve Aar.
And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment. And these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 Men naar der er gaaet halvfjerdsindstyve Aar, hjemsøger jeg Babels Konge og Folket der for deres Misgerning, lyder det fra HERREN, ogsaa Kaldæernes Land hjemsøger jeg og gør det til evige Ørkener,
And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, says Jehovah, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and I will make it desolate forever.
13 og jeg opfylder paa dette Land alle mine Ord, som jeg har talet imod det, alt, hvad der er skrevet i denne Bog, alt, hvad Jeremias har profeteret mod alle Folkene.
And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
14 Thi ogsaa dem skal mange Folk og vældige Konger gøre til Trælle, og jeg gengælder dem deres Gerning og deres Hænders Værk.
For many nations and great kings shall make bondmen of them, even of them, and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.
15 Thi saaledes sagde HERREN, Israels Gud, til mig: »Tag dette Bæger med min Vredes Vin af min Haand og giv alle de Folk, jeg sender dig til, at drikke deraf;
For thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel, to me: Take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
16 de skal drikke og rave og rase for Sværdet, jeg sender iblandt dem!«
And they shall drink, and reel to and fro, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17 Og jeg tog Bægeret af HERRENS Haand og gav alle de Folk, han sendte mig til, at drikke deraf:
Then I took the cup at Jehovah's hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom Jehovah had sent me:
18 Jerusalem og Judas Byer og dets Konger og Fyrster, for at gøre dem til Ørk og Øde, til Spot og til et Forbandelsens Tegn, som det er paa denne Dag;
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings of it, and the rulers of it, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day,
19 Farao, Ægypterkongen, med alle hans Tjenere og Fyrster og alt hans Folk,
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his rulers, and all his people,
20 alt Blandingsfolket og alle Konger i Uz og Filisterland, Askalon, Gaza og Ekron og Asdods Rest;
and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of the Uz, and all the kings of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
21 Edom, Moab og Ammoniterne;
Edom, and Moab, and the sons of Ammon,
22 alle Tyrus's og Zidons Konger og den fjerne strands Konger hinsides Havet;
and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea,
23 Dedan, Tema og Buz og alle dem med rundklippet Haar;
Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all who have the corners of their hair cut off,
24 alle Arabernes Konger og alle Blandingsfolkets Konger, som bor i Ørkenen;
and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mixed people who dwell in the wilderness,
25 alle Zimris Konger, alle Elams Konger og alle Mediens Konger;
and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
26 alle Nordens Konger, nær og fjern, den ene efter den anden, alle Riger paa Jordens Overflade; og Kongen af Sjesjak skal drikke efter dem.
and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth. And the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27 Og du skal sige til dem: Saa siger Hærskarers HERRE, Israels Gud: Drik, bliv drukne og spy, fald og rejs eder ikke mere for Sværdet, jeg sender iblandt eder!
And thou shall say to them, Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink ye, and be drunken, and spew, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
28 Og hvis de vægrer sig ved at tage Bægeret af din Haand og drikke, skal du sige til dem: Saa siger Hærskarers HERRE: Drikke skal I!
And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thy hand to drink, then thou shall say to them, Thus says Jehovah of hosts: Ye shall surely drink.
29 Thi se, med den By, mit Navn er nævnet over, begynder jeg at handle ilde, og saa skulde I gaa fri! Nej, I gaar ikke fri; thi jeg kalder Sværdet hid mod alle dem, som bor paa Jorden, lyder det fra Hærskarers HERRE.
For, lo, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished. For I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, says Jehovah of hosts.
30 Og du skal profetere alle disse Ord for dem og sige: HERREN brøler fra det høje, løfter sin Røst fra sin hellige Bolig; han brøler over sin Græsgang, istemmer Vinperserraabet over alle, som bor paa Jorden.
Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say to them, Jehovah will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 Drønet naar til Jordens Ende, thi HERREN gaar i Rette med Folkene; over alt Kød holder han Dom, de gudløse giver han til Sværdet, lyder det fra HERREN.
A noise shall come even to the end of the earth, for Jehovah has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword, says Jehovah.
32 Thi saa siger Hærskarers HERRE: Se, Ulykken gaar fra det ene Folk til det andet, et vældigt Vejr bryder løs fra Jordens Rand.
Thus says Jehovah of hosts: Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great tempest shall be raised up from the outermost parts of the earth.
33 HERRENS slagne skal paa den Dag ligge fra Jordens ene Ende til den anden; der skal ikke holdes Klage over dem, og de skal ikke sankes og jordes; de skal blive til Gødning paa Marken.
And the slain of Jehovah shall be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be lamented, nor gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the face of the ground.
34 Jamrer, I Hyrder, og skrig, I Hjordens ypperste, vælt jer i Støvet! Thi Tiden, I skal slagtes, er kommet, som en kostelig Skaal skal I splintres.
Wail, ye shepherds, and cry. And wallow, ye principal men of the flock. For the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and ye shall fall like a goodly vessel.
35 Hyrderne finder ej Tilflugt, ej Hjordens ypperste Redning.
And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal men of the flock to escape.
36 Hør, hvor Hyrderne skriger, hvor Hjordens ypperste jamrer! Thi HERREN hærger deres Græsgange,
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the principal men of the flock! For Jehovah lays waste their pasture.
37 og Fredens Vange lægges øde for HERRENS glødende Vrede;
And the peaceable folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.
38 Løven gaar bort fra sin Tykning, thi deres Land er lagt øde for det hærgende Sværd, for HERRENS glødende Vrede.
He has left his covert as the lion. For their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppressing sword, and because of his fierce anger.
