5 Mosebog 7
1 Naar HERREN din Gud fører dig ind i det Land, du skal ind og tage i Besiddelse, og driver store Folk bort foran dig, Hetiterne, Girgasjiterne, Amoriterne, Kana'anæerne, Perizziterne, Hivviterne og Jebusiterne, syv Folk, der er større og mægtigere end du,
If he will bring you Yahweh God your into the land where you [are] about to go there towards to take possession of it and he will clear away nations many - from before you the Hittite[s] and the Girgashite[s] and the Amorite[s] and the Canaanite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s] seven nations great and mighty more than you.
2 og naar HERREN din Gud giver dem i din Magt, og du overvinder dem, saa skal du lægge Band paa dem. Du maa ikke slutte Pagt med dem eller vise dem Skaansel.
And he will deliver up them Yahweh God your before you and you will strike down them certainly you will totally destroy them not you will make to them a covenant and not you will show favor to them.
3 Du maa ikke besvogre dig med dem, du maa hverken give en af deres Sønner din Datter eller tage en af deres Døtre til din Søn;
And not you will intermarry with them daughter your not you will give to son his and daughter his not you will take for son your.
4 thi saa vil de faa din Søn til at falde fra HERREN, saa han dyrker andre Guder, og HERRENS Vrede vil blusse op imod eder, og han vil udrydde dig i Hast.
For he will turn aside son your from after me and they will serve gods other and it will burn [the] anger of Yahweh on you and he will destroy you quickly.
5 Men saaledes skal I gøre ved dem: Deres Altre skal I nedbryde, deres Stenstøtter skal I sønderslaa, deres Asjerastøtter skal I omhugge, og deres Gudebilleder skal I opbrænde.
That except thus you will do to them altars their you will break down and sacred pillars their you will shatter and Asherah poles their you will cut down! and images their you will burn! with fire.
6 Thi du er et Folk, der er helliget HERREN din Gud; dig har HERREN din Gud udvalgt til sit Ejendomsfolk blandt alle Folk paa Jorden.
For [are] a people holy you to Yahweh God your you he has chosen - Yahweh God your to become for him a people of possession from all the peoples which [are] on [the] surface of the ground.
7 Det er ikke, fordi I er større end alle de andre Folk, at HERREN har fattet Velbehag til eder og udvalgt eder, thi I er det mindste af alle Folk;

8 men fordi HERREN elskede eder, og fordi han vilde holde den Ed, han tilsvor eders Fædre, derfor var det, at HERREN med stærk Haand førte eder ud og udløste dig af Trællehuset, af Ægypterkongen Faraos Haand;
For from [the] love of Yahweh you (and because kept he *L(abh)*) the oath which he swore to ancestors your he brought out Yahweh you by a hand strong and he redeemed you from a house of slaves from [the] hand of Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt.
9 saa skal du vide, at HERREN din Gud er den sande Gud, den trofaste Gud, der i tusinde Slægtled holder fast ved sin Pagt og sin Miskundhed mod dem, der elsker ham og holder hans Bud,
And you will know that Yahweh God your he [is] God the God faithful [who] keeps the covenant and covenant loyalty to [those who] love him and to [those who] keep (commandments his *Q(K)*) to a thousand generation[s].
10 men bringer Gengældelse over den, der hader ham, saa han udrydder ham, og ikke tøver over for den, der hader ham, men bringer Gengældelse over ham.

11 Derfor skal du omhyggeligt handle efter det Bud, de Anordninger og Lovbud, jeg i Dag giver dig!
And you will keep the commandment and the statutes and the judgments which I [am] commanding you this day to observe them.
12 Naar I nu hører disse Lovbud og holder dem og handler efter dem, saa skal HERREN din Gud til Løn derfor holde fast ved den Pagt og den Miskundhed, han tilsvor dine Fædre.
And it will be - consequence you will hear! the judgments these and you will take care and you will observe them and he will keep Yahweh God your to you the covenant and covenant loyalty which he swore to ancestors your.
13 Han skal elske dig, velsigne dig og gøre dig mangfoldig, han skal velsigne Frugten af dit Moderliv og Frugten af din Jord, dit Korn, din Most og din Olie, Tillægget af dine Okser og dine Faars Yngel i det Land, han tilsvor dine Fædre at ville give dig!
And he will love you and he will bless you and he will increase you and he will bless [the] fruit of womb your and [the] fruit of ground your grain your and new wine your and fresh oil your [the] young of cattle your and [the] young ones of flock your on the land which he swore to ancestors your to give to you.
14 Velsignet skal du være fremfor alle andre Folk; ingen Mand eller Kvinde hos dig skal være ufrugtbar, ej heller noget af dit Kvæg;
Blessed you will be more than all the peoples not he will be among you a sterile [male] and a barren [female] and among livestock your.
15 og HERREN vil holde alle Sygdomme fra dig; ingen af Ægyptens onde Farsoter, som du jo kender, vil han paaføre dig, men han vil lægge dem paa alle dem, der hader dig.
And he will remove Yahweh from you every sickness and all [the] diseases of Egypt harmful which you experienced not he will put them on you and he will set them on all [those who] hate you.
16 Og alle de Folk, som HERREN din Gud giver dig, skal du fortære uden Skaansel; du maa ikke dyrke deres Guder, thi det vilde blive en Snare for dig.
And you will consume all the peoples which Yahweh God your [is] about to deliver up to you not it will look with pity eye your on them and not you will serve gods their for [will be] a snare it to you.
17 Og skulde du sige ved dig selv: »Disse Folk er større end jeg, hvor kan jeg drive dem bort?«
For you will say in heart your [are] great the nations these more than I how? will I be able to dispossess them.
18 saa frygt ikke for dem, men kom i Hu, hvad HERREN din Gud gjorde ved Farao og hele Ægypten,
Not you must be afraid from them carefully you will remember [that] which he did Yahweh God your to Pharaoh and to all Egypt.
19 de store Prøvelser, du selv saa, Tegnene og Underne, den stærke Haand og den udstrakte Arm, hvormed HERREN din Gud førte dig ud; saaledes vil HERREN din Gud gøre ved alle de Folkeslag, du frygter for.
The trials great which they saw eyes your and the signs and the wonders and the hand mighty and the arm outstretched which he brought out you Yahweh God your thus he will do Yahweh God your to all the peoples which you [are] afraid of them.
20 Ja, ogsaa Gedehamse vil HERREN din Gud sende imod dem, indtil de, der er tilbage og holder sig skjult for dig, er udryddet.

21 Vær ikke bange for dem, thi HERREN din Gud er i din Midte, en stor og frygtelig Gud.

22 HERREN din Gud skal lidt efter lidt drive disse Folkeslag bort foran dig. Det gaar ikke an, at du udrydder dem i Hast, thi saa bliver Markens vilde Dyr dig for talrige.
And he will clear away Yahweh God your the nations these from before you little little not you will be able to make an end of them quickly lest it should increase with you [the] animal[s] of the field.
23 Men HERREN din Gud skal give dem i din Magt, og han skal slaa dem med stor Rædsel, indtil de er udryddet.
And he will deliver up them Yahweh God your before you and he will confuse them confusion great until are destroyed they.
24 Og han skal give deres Konger i din Haand, og du skal udrydde deres Navn under Himmelen; ingen skal kunne holde Stand over for dig, til du har udryddet dem.
And he will give kings their in hand your and you will destroy name their from under the heavens not he will stand anyone in face your until destroying you them.
25 Deres Gudebilleder skal I opbrænde; du maa ikke lade dig friste til at tage Sølvet eller Guldet paa dem, for at du ikke skal lokkes i en Snare derved, thi det er HERREN din Gud en Vederstyggelighed,
[the] images of Gods their you will burn! with fire not you will covet silver and gold on them and you will take [it] for yourself lest you should be ensnared by it for [is] [the] abomination of Yahweh God your that.
26 og du maa ikke føre nogen Vederstyggelighed ind i dit Hus, for at du ikke skal hjemfalde til Band ligesom den, nej, du skal nære Afsky og Gru for den, thi den er hjemfaldet til Band!
And not you will bring an abomination into house your and you will be an object for destruction like it utterly - you will detest it and utterly - you will abhor it for [is] an object for destruction it.
