Anden Krønikebog 29

1 Ezekias var fem og tyve Aar gammel, da han blev Konge, og han herskede ni og tyve Aar i Jerusalem. Hans Moder hed Abija og var en Datter af Zekarja.

Now Ezechias began to reign, when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Abia, the daughter of Zacharias.

2 Han gjorde, hvad der var ret i HERRENS Øjne, ganske som hans Fader David.

And he did that which was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.

3 I sit første Regeringsaars første Maaned lod han HERRENS Hus's Porte aabne og sætte i Stand.

In the first year and month of his reign he opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.

4 Derpaa lod han Præsterne og Leviterne komme, samlede dem paa den aabne Plads mod Øst

And he brought the priests and the Levites, and assembled them in the east street.

5 og sagde til dem: »Hør mig, Leviter! Helliger nu eder selv og helliger HERRENS, eders Fædres Guds, Hus og faa det urene ud af Helligdommen.

And he said to them: Hear me, ye Levites, and be sanctified, purify the house of the Lord the God of your fathers, and take away all filth out of the sanctuary.

6 Thi vore Fædre var troløse og gjorde, hvad der var ondt i HERREN vor Guds Øjne, de forlod ham, idet de vendte Ansigtet bort fra HERRENS Bolig og vendte den Ryggen;

Our fathers have sinned and done evil in the sight of the Lord God, forsaking him: they have turned away their faces from the tabernacle of the Lord, and turned their backs.

7 de lukkede endog Forhallens Porte, slukkede Lamperne, brændte ikke Røgelse og bragte ikke Israels Gud Brændofre i Helligdommen.

They have shut up the doors that were in tile porch, and put out the lamps. and have not burnt incense, nor offered holocausts in the sanctuary of the God of Israel.

8 Derfor kom HERRENS Vrede over Juda og Jerusalem, og han gjorde dem til Rædsel, Forfærdelse og Skændsel, som I kan se med egne Øjne.

Therefore the wrath of the Lord hath been stirred up against Juda and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, and to destruction, and to be hissed at, as you see with your eyes.

9 Se, vore Fædre er faldet for Sværdet, vore Sønner, Døtre og Hustruer ført i Fangenskab for den Sags Skyld.

Behold, our fathers are fallen by the sword, our sons, and our daughters, and wives are led away captives for this wickedness.

10 Men nu har jeg i Sinde at slutte en Pagt med HERREN, Israels Gud, for at hans glødende Vrede maa vende sig fra os.

Now therefore I have a mind that we make a covenant with the Lord the God of Israel, and he will turn away the wrath of his indignation from us.

11 Saa lad det nu, mine Sønner, ikke skorte paa Iver, thi eder har HERREN udvalgt til at staa for hans Aasyn og tjene ham og til at være hans Tjenere og tænde Offerild for ham!«

My sons, be not negligent: the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, and to minister to him, and to worship him, and to burn incense to him.

12 Da rejste følgende Leviter sig: Mahat, Amasajs Søn, og Joel, Azarjas Søn, af Kehatiternes Sønner; af Merariterne Kisj, Abdis Søn, og Azarja, Jehallel'els Søn; af Gersoniterne Joa, Zimmas Søn, og Eden, Joas Søn;

Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azarias, of the sons of Caath: and of the sons of Merari, Cis the son of Abdi, and Azarias the son of Jalaleel. And of the sons of Gerson, Joah the son of Zemma, and Eden the son of Joah.

13 af Elizafans Sønner Sjimri og Je'uel; af Asafs Sønner Zekarja og Mattanja;

And of the sons of Elisaphan, Samri, and Jahiel. Also of the sons of Asaph, Zacharias, and Mathanias.

14 af Hemans Sønner Jehiel og Sjim'i; og af Jedutuns Sønner Sjemaja og Uzziel;

And of the sons of Heman, Jahiel, and Semei: and of the sons of Idithun, Semeias, and Oziel.

15 og de samlede deres Brødre, og de helligede sig og skred saa efter Kongens Befaling til at rense HERRENS Hus i Henhold til HERRENS Forskrifter.

And they gathered together their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and went in according to the commandment of the king, and the precept of the Lord, to purify the house of God.

16 Og Præsterne gik ind i det indre af HERRENS Hus for at rense det, og alt det urene, de fandt i HERRENS Tempel, bragte de ud i HERRENS Hus's Forgaard, hvor Leviterne tog imod det for at bringe det ud i Kedrons Dal.

And the priests went into the temple of the Lord to sanctify it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found within to the entrance of the house of the Lord, and the Levites took it away, and carried it out abroad to the torrent Cedron.

17 Paa den første Dag i den første Maaned begyndte de at hellige, og paa den ottende Dag i Maaneden var de kommet til HERRENS Forhal; saa helligede de HERRENS Hus i otte Dage, og paa den sekstende Dag i den første Maaned var de færdige.

And they began to cleanse on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the same month they came into the porch of the temple of the Lord, and they purified the temple in eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the same month they finished what they had begun.

18 Derpaa gik de ind til Kong Ezekias og sagde: »Vi har nu renset hele HERRENS Hus, Brændofferalteret med alt, hvad der hører dertil, og Skuebrødsbordet med alt, hvad der hører dertil;

And they went is to king Ezechias, and said to him: We have sanctified all the house of the Lord, and the altar of holocaust, and the vessels thereof, and the table of proposition with all its vessels,

19 og alle de Kar, som Kong Akaz i sin Troløshed vanhelligede, da han var Konge, dem har vi bragt paa Plads og helliget; se, de staar nu foran HERRENS Alter!«

And all the furniture of the temple, which king Achaz in his reign had defiled, after his transgression; and behold they are all set forth before the altar of the Lord.

20 Næste Morgen tidlig samlede Kong Ezekias Byens Øverster og gik op til HERRENS Hus.

And king Ezechias rising early, assembled all the rulers of the city, and went up into the house of the Lord:

21 Derpaa bragte man syv Tyre, syv Vædre, syv Lam og syv Gedebukke til Syndoffer for Riget, Helligdommen og Juda; og han bød Arons Sønner Præsterne ofre dem paa HERRENS Alter.

And they offered together seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats for sin, for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, for Juda: and he spoke to the priests the sons of Aaron, to offer them upon the altar of the Lord.

22 De slagtede saa Tyrene, og Præsterne tog imod Blodet og sprængte det paa Alteret; saa slagtede de Vædrene og sprængte Blodet paa Alteret; saa slagtede de Lammene og sprængte Blodet paa Alteret;

Therefore they killed the bullocks, and the priests took the blood, and poured it upon the altar; they killed also the rams, and their blood they poured also upon the altar, and they killed the lambs, and poured the blood upon the altar.

23 endelig bragte de Syndofferbukkene frem for Kongen og Forsamlingen, og de lagde Hænderne paa dem;

And they brought the he goats for sin before the king, and the whole multitude, and they laid their hand upon them:

24 saa slagtede Præsterne dem og bragte Blodet paa Alteret som Syndoffer for at skaffe hele Israel Soning; thi Kongen havde sagt, at Brændofferet og Syndofferet skulde være for hele Israel.

And the priests immolated them, and sprinkled their blood before the altar for an expiation of all Israel: for the king had commanded that the holocaust and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

25 Og han opstillede Leviterne ved HERRENS Hus med Cymbler, Harper og Citre efter Davids, Kongens Seer Gads og Profeten Natans Bud, thi Budet var givet af HERREN gennem hans Profeter.

And he set the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, and psalteries, and harps according to the regulation of David the king, and of Gad the seer, and of Nathan the prophet: for it was the commandment of the Lord by the hand of his prophets.

26 Og Leviterne stod med Davids Instrumenter og Præsterne med Trompeterne.

And the Levites stood, with the instruments of David, and the priests with trumpets.

27 Derpaa bød Ezekias, at Brændofferet skulde ofres paa Alteret, og samtidig med Ofringen begyndte ogsaa HERRENS Sang og Trompeterne, ledsaget af Kong David af Israels Instrumenter.

And Ezechias commanded that they should offer holocausts upon the altar: and when the holocausts were offered, they began to sing praises to the Lord, and to sound with trumpets, and divers instruments which David the king of Israel had prepared.

28 Da kastede hele Forsamlingen sig til Jorden, medens Sangen lød og Trompeterne Klang, og alt dette varede, til man var færdig med Brændofferet.

And all the multitude adored, and the singers, and the trumpeters, were in their office till the holocaust was finished.

29 Saa snart man var færdig med Brændofferet, knælede Kongen og alle, der var hos ham, ned og tilbad.

And when the oblation was ended, the king, and all that were with him bowed down and adored.

30 Derpaa bød Kong Ezekias og Øversterne Leviterne at lovsynge HERREN med Davids og Seeren Asafs Ord; og de sang Lovsangen med Jubel og bøjede sig og tilbad.

And Ezechias and the princes commanded the Levites to praise the Lord with the words of David, and Asaph the seer: and they praised him with great joy, and bowing the knee adored.

31 Ezekias tog da til Orde og sagde: »I har nu indviet eder til HERREN; saa træd da frem og bring Slagtofre og Lovprisningsofre til HERRENS Hus!« Saa bragte Forsamlingen Slagtofre og Lovprisningsofre, og enhver, hvis Hjerte tilskyndede ham dertil, bragte Brændofre.

And Ezechias added, and said: You have filled your hands to the Lord, come and offer victims, and praises in the house of the Lord. And all the multitude offered victims, and praises, and holocausts with a devout mind.

32 De Brændofre, Forsamlingen bragte, udgjorde 70 Stykker Hornkvæg, 100 Vædre og 200 Lam, alt som Brændofre til HERREN;

And the number of the holocausts which the multitude offered, was seventy bullocks, a hundred rams, and two hundred lambs.

33 og Helligofrene udgjorde 600 Stykker Hornkvæg og 3000 Stykker Smaakvæg.

And they consecrated to the Lord six hundred oxen, and three thousand sheep.

34 Dog var Præsterne for faa til at flaa Huden af alle Brændofrene, derfor hjalp deres Brødre Leviterne dem, indtil Arbejdet var fuldført og Præsterne havde helliget sig; thi Leviterne viste redeligere Vilje til at hellige sig end Præsterne.

But the priests were few, and were not enough to flay the holocausts: wherefore the Levites their brethren helped them, till the work was ended, and priests were sanctified, for the Levites are sanctified with an easier rite than the priests.

35 Desuden var der en Mængde Brændofre, hvortil kom Fedtstykkerne af Takofrene og Drikofrene til Brændofrene. Saaledes bragtes Tjenesten i HERRENS Hus i Orden.

So there were many holocausts, and the fat of peace offerings, and the libations of holocausts: and the service of the house of the Lord was completed.

36 Og Ezekias og alt Folket glædede sig over, hvad Gud havde beredt Folket, thi det hele var sket saa hurtigt.

And Ezechias, and all the people rejoiced because the ministry of the Lord was accomplished. For the resolution of doing this thing was taken suddenly.
