Zakarias 7
1 Og det skete i Kong Darius's fjerde Aar, at Herrens Ord kom til Sakarias paa den fjerde Dag i den niende Maaned, det er i Kislev.
And it happened, in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, on the fourth day of the ninth month, which is Kislev.
2 Og Bethel sendte Sarezer og Regem-Melek og hans Mænd for at bede ydmygelig for Herrens Ansigt,
And Sharezer and Regemmelech, and the men who were with them, sent to the house of God, to entreat the face of the Lord,
3 idet de skulde sige til Præsterne, som vare ved den Herre Zebaoths Hus, og til Profeterne saaledes: Mon jeg skal græde i den femte Maaned under Afholdenhed, som jeg har gjort nu saa mange Aar?
to speak to the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts and to the prophets, saying: “Must there be weeping with me in the fifth month, and must I sanctify myself, as I have now done for many years?”
4 Da kom den Herre Zebaoths Ord til mig saalunde:
And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
5 Sig til alt Folket i Landet og til Præsterne: Naar I have fastet og sørget i den femte og i den syvende Maaned, og dette nu i halvfjerdsindstyve Aar, mon I da virkelig have fastet for mig?
Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying: Although you may have fasted and mourned in the fifth and the seventh month for these seventy years, did you indeed keep a fast unto me?
6 Og naar I æde, og naar I drikke, er det da ikke eder, som æde, og eder, som drikke?
And when you did eat and drink, did you not eat for yourselves, and drink only for yourselves?
7 Mindes I ikke de Ord, som Herren forkyndte ved de første Profeter, der Jerusalem var beboet og var rolig, og dens Stæder trindt omkring den og Sydlandet og Lavlandet vare beboede?
Are not these the words that the Lord has spoken by the hand of the former prophets, when Jerusalem was still inhabited, so that it would prosper, itself and the cities around it, and those inhabitants towards the South and in the plains?
8 Og Herrens Ord kom til Sakarias saaledes:
And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying:
9 Saa siger den Herre Zebaoth: Dømmer Sandheds Dom, og gører Miskundhed og Barmhjertighed, hver imod sin Broder,
Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: Judge with true judgment, and act with mercy and compassion, each and every one with his brother.
10 og undertrykker ikke Enken eller den faderløse, den fremmede eller den elendige; og optænker ikke ondt imod en Broder i eders Hjerte!
And do not find fault with the widow, and the orphan, and the newcomer, and the poor. And let not a man consider evil in his heart towards his brother.
11 Men de vægrede sig ved at give Agt derpaa og vendte modvilligt Ryg, og de gjorde deres Øren tunghørende for ikke at høre.
But they were not willing to pay attention, and they turned aside their shoulder to depart, and they pressed upon their ears, so that they would not hear.
12 Og de gjorde deres Hjerte som Demant for ikke at høre Loven og Ordene, hvilke den Herre Zebaoth sendte ved sin Aand igennem de første Profeter, og der kom en stor Vrede fra den Herre Zebaoth.
And they set their heart like the hardest stone, so that they would not hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts has sent with his Spirit by the hand of the former prophets. And so a great indignation came from Lord of hosts.
13 Og det skete, ligesom han raabte, og de hørte ikke: Saaledes skulle de raabe, og jeg vil ikke høre, sagde den Herre Zebaoth;
And it happened, just as he had spoken, and they did not pay attention. So then, they shall cry out, and I will not heed, says the Lord of hosts.
14 men jeg vil bortdrive dem som ved en Storm iblandt alle de Hedningefolk, som de ikke have kendt, og Landet skal være ødelagt efter dem, saa at ingen gaar igennem det frem eller tilbage. Og de gjorde det herlige Land til en Ørk.
And I dispersed them throughout all the kingdoms that they did not know. And the land was left desolate behind them, so that no one was passing through or returning. And they made the desirable land into a deserted place.
