Salme 82

1 Gud staar i Guds Menighed; han dømmer midt iblandt Guder.

“A psalm of Asaph.” God standeth in God's assembly, He judgeth in the midst of the gods.

2 Hvor længe ville I dømme Uret og anse de ugudeliges Personer? (Sela)

“How long will ye judge unjustly, And favor the cause of the wicked? (Pause)

3 Skaffer den ringe og den faderløse Ret; hjælper den elendige og den arme til Retfærdighed!

Defend the poor and the fatherless; Do justice to the wretched and the needy!

4 Redder den ringe og den fattige; udfrier ham af de ugudeliges Haand!

Deliver the poor and the destitute; Save them from the hand of the wicked!

5 De skønne ikke og forstaa ikke, de vandre i Mørke; alle Jordens Grundpiller ryste.

They are without knowledge and without understanding; They walk in darkness: Therefore all the foundations of the land are shaken.

6 Jeg har sagt: I ere Guder, og I ere alle den Højestes Sønner.

I have said, Ye are gods, And all of you children of the Most High;

7 Men I skulle dø som Mennesker, og som en af Fyrsterne skulle I falde.

But ye shall die like men, And fall like the rest of the princes.”

8 Gud! gør dig rede, døm Jorden; thi du skal tage Arv iblandt alle Hedninger.

Arise, O God! judge the earth! For all the nations are thy possession.
