Salme 149

1 Synger Herren en ny Sang, hans Lovsang i de helliges Menighed!

Praise ye the LORD! Sing unto the LORD a new song; His praise in the assembly of the godly!

2 Israel glæde sig over sin Skaber, Zions Børn fryde sig over deres Konge!

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him; Let the sons of Zion be joyful in their king!

3 De skulle love hans Navn med Dans, de skulle lovsynge ham til Tromme og Harpe.

Let them praise his name in the dance; Let them praise him with the timbrel and harp!

4 Thi Herren har Behagelighed til sit Folk, han pryder de sagtmodige med Frelse.

For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people; He will beautify the distressed with salvation.

5 De hellige skulle glæde sig i Herlighed, de skulle synge med Fryd paa deres Leje.

Let the godly-rejoice in their glory; Let them shout for joy upon their beds!

6 De skulle ophøje Gud med deres Strube, og der skal være et tveægget Sværd i deres Haand

Let the praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,

7 for at øve Hævn paa Hedningerne og Straf paa Folkeslægterne;

To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishment upon the peoples!

8 for at binde deres Konger med Lænker og deres Hædersmænd med Jernbolte;

To bind their kings with chains. And their nobles with fetters of iron;

9 for at fuldbyrde paa dem den Dom, som staar skreven! Det er Æren for alle hans hellige. Halleluja!

To execute upon them the sentence which is written: This honor have all his godly ones. Praise ye the LORD!
