Salme 135
1 Lover Herrens Navn, lover, I Herrens Tjenere!
Praise ye Yah, Praise ye the Name of Yahweh, Praise, O ye servants of Yahweh;
2 I, som staa i Herrens Hus, i vor Guds Hus's Forgaarde.
Who stand In the house of Yahweh, In the courts of the house of our God.
3 Lover Herren; thi Herren er god; lovsynger hans Navn; thi det er lifligt.
Praise ye Yah, For good is Yahweh, Sing praises to his Name, For it is full of delight;
4 Thi Herren har udvalgt sig Jakob, Israel til sin Ejendom.
For, Jacob, hath Yah chosen for himself, Israel, for his own treasure.
5 Thi jeg ved, at Herren er stor, og at vor Herre er større end alle Guder.
For, I, know that great is Yahweh, yea, our Lord, is beyond all gods.
6 Herren gør alt, hvad ham behager, i Himmelen og paa Jorden, i Havene og i alle Afgrunde.
Whatsoever Yahweh hath pleased, he hath done, —in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas, and all resounding deeps:
7 Han gør, at Dampe opstige fra Jordens Grænse; han gør Lynene til Regn, han udfører Vejret af sine Forraadskamre.
Causing vapours to ascend from the end of the earth, —Lightnings for the rain, hath he made, bringing forth wind out of his treasuries.
8 Han, som slog de førstefødte i Ægypten, baade Mennesker og Dyr;
Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man, and of beast;
9 han sendte Tegn og underlige Ting i din Midte, Ægypten! paa Farao og paa alle hans Tjenere;
Sent signs and wonders into thy midst, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
10 han, som slog mange Folk og ihjelslog stærke Konger:
Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings:
11 Amoriternes Konge Sihon og Basans Konge Og samt alle Riger i Kanaan;
Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12 og han gav deres Land til Arv, til Arv for sit Folk Israel.
And gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to Israel his people.
13 Herre! dit Navn bliver evindelig; Herre! din Ihukommelse bliver fra Slægt til Slægt.
O Yahweh! thy Name, is age-abiding, —O Yahweh! thy memorial, is to generation after generation.
14 Thi Herren skal dømme sit Folk, og det skal angre ham for hans Tjeneres Skyld.
For Yahweh will vindicate his people, —and, on his servants, have compassion.
15 Hedningernes Afguder ere Sølv og Guld, et Menneskes Hænders Gerning.
The idols of the nations, are silver and gold, the work of the hands of men:
16 De have Mund, men tale ikke; de have Øjne, men se ikke.
A mouth, have they, but they speak not, Eyes, have they, but they see not;
17 De have Øren, men høre ikke, og der er ingen Aande i deres Mund.
Ears, have they, but they hear not, Nose, —there is no breath in their mouth.
18 Ligesom disse ere, saa blive de, som gøre dem, ja, hver den, som forlader sig paa dem.
Like unto them, shall be they who make them, every one who trusteth in them.
19 Israels Hus! lover Herren; Arons Hus! lover Herren.
O house of Israel! bless Yahweh, O house of Aaron! bless Yahweh;
20 Levis Hus! lover Herren; I, som frygte Herren! lover Herren.
O house of Levi! bless Yahweh, Ye that revere Yahweh! bless Yahweh.
21 Lovet være Herren fra Zion, han, som bor i Jerusalem! Halleluja!
Blessed be Yahweh out of Zion, Who inhabiteth Jerusalem, Praise ye Yah!
