Salme 128

1 Lyksalig hver den, som frygter Herren, som gaar paa hans Veje!

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” Happy is he who feareth the LORD, Who walketh in his ways!

2 Thi du skal æde Frugten af dine Hænders Arbejde; lyksalig er du, og det gaar dig vel.

Thou shalt eat the labor of thy hands; Happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee!

3 Din Hustru er som et frugtbart Vintræ paa Siderne af dit Hus, dine Børn som Oliekviste omkring dit Bord.

Thy wife shall be like a fruitful vine within thy house; Thy children like olive-branches round about thy table.

4 Se, saaledes skal den Mand velsignes, som frygter Herren.

Behold! thus happy is the man who feareth the LORD!

5 Herren skal velsigne dig fra Zion, og du skal se Jerusalems Lykke alle dit Livs Dage.

Jehovah shall bless thee out of Zion, And thou shalt see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of thy life;

6 Og du skal se Børn af dine Børn! Fred være over Israel!

Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children. Peace be to Israel!
