4 Mosebog 3

1 Og disse ere Arons og Mose Slægter paa den Dag, Herren talede med Mose paa Sinai Bjerg.

These are the generations of Aaron and Moses, in the day when the Lord spoke to Moses on mount Sinai.

2 Og disse ere Arons Sønners Navne: Nadab, den førstefødte, og Abihu, Eleasar og Ithamar.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: his firstborn Nadab, then Abihu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3 Disse ere Arons Sønners Navne, de, som vare salvede Præster, hvis Hænder man havde fyldt til at gøre Præstetjeneste.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed and whose hands were filled and consecrated in order to exercise the priesthood.

4 Men Nadab og Abihu døde for Herrens Ansigt, der de førte fremmed Ild frem for Herrens Ansigt i Sinai Ørk, og de havde ingen Sønner; men Eleasar og Ithamar gjorde Præstetjeneste for Arons, deres Faders, Ansigt.

For Nadab and Abihu died without children, when they offered, in the sight of the Lord, a strange fire, in the desert of Sinai. And so, Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood in the sight of Aaron, their father.

5 Og Herren talede til Mose og sagde:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

6 Lad Levi Stamme komme nær, og du skal stille dem for Præsten Arons Ansigt; og de skulle tjene ham.

“Bring forward the tribe of Levi, and cause them to stand in the sight of Aaron the priest, in order to minister to him. And let them keep watch outside,

7 Og de skulle tage Vare paa, hvad han skulde varetage, og paa hvad hele Menigheden skulde varetage, foran Forsamlingens Paulun, til at besørge Tjenesten i Tabernaklet.

and let them observe whatever pertains to the ritual for the multitude, in front of the tabernacle of the testimony,

8 Og de skulle tage Vare paa alle Forsamlingens Pauluns Redskaber, og paa hvad Israels Børn skulle varetage, til at besørge Tjenesten i Tabernaklet.

and let them take care of the vessels of the tabernacle, serving in its ministry.

9 Og du skal give Leviterne til Aron og hans Sønner; de ere ham aldeles givne ud af Israels Børn.

And you shall give the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons; for they have been delivered to them by the sons of Israel.

10 Men Aron og hans Sønner skal du beskikke, at de skulle tage Vare paa deres Præstetjeneste, men kommer nogen fremmed nær til, da skal han dødes.

But you shall appoint Aaron and his sons over the service of the priesthood. The outsider who approaches to minister shall be put to death.”

11 Og Herren talede til Mose og sagde:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

12 Og jeg, se, jeg har taget Leviterne midt ud af Israels Børn for hver førstefødt, som aabner Moders Liv af Israels Børn; og Leviterne skulle høre mig til.

“I have taken the Levites from the sons of Israel. For the Levites, and all the firstborn who open the womb among the sons of Israel, shall be mine.

13 Thi alt førstefødt hører mig til, paa den Dag jeg slog alt førstefødt i Ægyptens Land, helligede jeg mig alt førstefødt i Israel af Mennesker og Dyr; de skulle høre mig til, jeg er Herren.

For every firstborn is mine. From the time that I struck the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I have sanctified for myself whatever is born first in Israel. From man, even to beast, they are mine. I am the Lord.”

14 Og Herren talede til Mose i Sinai Ørk og sagde:

And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, saying:

15 Tæl Levi Børn efter deres Fædrenehus, efter deres Slægter; alt Mandkøn fra Maaned gamle og derover, dem skal du tælle.

“Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers and their families, every male from one month and above.”

16 Og Mose talte dem efter Herrens Ord, ligesom ham var befalet.

Moses numbered them, just as the Lord had instructed,

17 Og disse vare Levi Børn efter deres Navne: Gerson og Kahath og Merari.

and there were found the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.

18 Og disse vare Gersons Børns Navne efter deres Slægter: Libni og Simei.

The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei.

19 Og Kahaths Børn efter deres Slægter: Amram og Jizehar, Hebron og Ussiel.

The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

20 Og Merari Børn efter deres Slægter: Maheli og Musi. Disse ere Levi Slægter, efter deres Fædrenehus.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi.

21 Til Gerson hører Libniternes Slægt og Simeiternes Slægt; disse ere Gersoniternes Slægter.

From Gershon were two families: the Libnites, and the Shimeites.

22 De talte af dem efter Mandtal, alt Mandkøn fra Maaned gamle og derover, de talte af dem vare syv Tusinde og fem Hundrede.

The people of these were numbered, of the male sex, from one month and above: seven thousand five hundred.

23 Gersoniternes Slægter, de skulle lejre sig bag Tabernaklet mod Vesten.

These shall encamp behind the tabernacle, toward the west,

24 Og Gersoniternes Fædrenehuses Fyrste var Eliasaf, Laels Søn.

under the leader Eliasaph the son of Lael.

25 Og hvad Gersons Børn havde at tage Vare paa ved Forsamlingens Paulun, var Tabernaklet og Paulunet, Dækket dertil og Dækket for Forsamlingens Pauluns Dør

And they shall keep watch over the tabernacle of the covenant:

26 og Omhængene til Forgaarden og Dækket for Forgaardens Dør, som er om Tabernaklet og om Alteret trindt omkring, og Snorene dertil, al Tjenesten derved.

the tabernacle itself, and its covering; the tent that is drawn before the doors of the covering of the covenant; and the curtains of the atrium; likewise, the tent that is suspended at the entrance of the atrium of the tabernacle; and whatever pertains to the ritual of the altar; the cords of the tabernacle and all its implements.

27 Og til Kahath hører Amramiternes Slægt og Jizehariternes Slægt og Hebroniternes Slægt og Ussieliternes Slægt: Disse ere Kahathiternes Slægter.

The kinship of Kohath includes the peoples of the Amramites and Izharites and Hebronites and Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites, having been counted by their names,

28 I Tal var alt Mandkøn fra Maaned gamle og derover otte Tusinde og seks Hundrede, som skulde tage Vare paa, hvad der var at tage Vare paa ved Helligdommen.

all those of the male gender, from one month and above: eight thousand six hundred. They shall keep watch over the Sanctuary,

29 Kahaths Sønners Slægter skulle lejre sig ved Tabernaklets Side mod Sønden.

and they shall encamp toward the south side.

30 Og Kahathiternes Slægters Fædrenehuses Fyrste var Elizafan, Ussiels Søn.

And their leader shall be Elisaphan the son of Uzziel.

31 Og hvad de havde at tage Vare paa, var Arken og Bordet og Lysestagen og Altrene og Helligdommens Redskaber, med hvilke Tjenesten udførtes, og Dækket og al Tjenesten derved.

And they shall take care of the ark, and the table and the lampstand, the altars and the vessels of the Sanctuary, by which they minister, and the veil, and all the articles of this kind.

32 Men Leviternes Fyrsters Fyrste skal være Eleazar, Præsten Arons Søn, som var beskikket over dem, som toge Vare paa, hvad der var at tage Vare paa ved Helligdommen.

But the leader of the leaders of the Levites, Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, shall be over those who watch over the care of the Sanctuary.

33 Til Merari hører Maheliternes Slægt og Musiternes Slægt: Disse ere Merariternes Slægter.

And truly, from Merari are the peoples of the Mahlites and Mushites, having been counted by their names,

34 Og de talte af dem efter Mandtal, alt Mandkøn fra Maaned gamle og derover, vare seks Tusinde og to Hundrede.

all those of the male gender, from one month and above: six thousand two hundred.

35 Og Merari Slægters Fædrenehuses Fyrste var Zuriel, Abihails Søn; de skulle lejre sig ved Tabernaklets Side, mod Norden.

Their leader is Suriel the son of Abihaiel. They shall make camp on the north side.

36 Og hvad Merari Børn vare beskikkede til at tage Vare paa, var Tabernaklets Fjæle og dets Stænger og dets Støtter og dets Fødder og alt Redskabet dertil og al Tjenesten derved

Under their care shall be the panels of the tabernacle, and the bars, and the columns with their bases, and all the things which pertain to service of this kind,

37 og Støtterne til Forgaarden trindt omkring og deres Fødder og deres Nagler og deres Snore.

and the columns of the surrounding atrium with their bases, and the tent pegs with their cords.

38 Men de, som skulle lejre sig lige for Tabernaklet foran, lige for Forsamlingens Paulun mod Østen, skulle være Mose og Aron og hans Sønner, som tage Vare paa, hvad der er at tage Vare paa ved Helligdommen, nemlig hvad Israels Børn havde at varetage; men gaar nogen fremmed nær til, da skal han dødes.

Moses and Aaron, with their sons, shall make camp before the tabernacle of the covenant, that is, on the east side, holding the custody of the Sanctuary in the midst of the sons of Israel. Whatever foreigner approaches it shall die.

39 Alle de talte af Leviterne, som Mose og Aron talte efter Herrens Mund, efter deres Slægter, alt Mandkøn fra Maaned gamle og derover vare to og tyve Tusinde.

All the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered by their families according to the precept of the Lord, of the male gender, from one month and above, were twenty-two thousand.

40 Og Herren sagde til Mose: Tæl alle førstefødte af Mandkøn blandt Israels Børn, fra Maaned gamle og derover, og tag Tal paa deres Navne.

And the Lord said to Moses: “Number the firstborn of the male sex from the sons of Israel, from one month and above, and you shall take their total.

41 Saa skal du tage mig, mig Herren, Leviterne i Stedet for alle førstefødte iblandt Israels Børn og Leviternes Kvæg i Stedet for alt det førstefødte iblandt Israels Børns Kvæg.

And you shall bring the Levites to me, in place of all the firstborn of the sons of Israel, and you shall bring their cattle to me, in place of all the firstborn of the cattle of the sons of Israel. I am the Lord.”

42 Og Mose talte, som Herren befalede ham, alle førstefødte blandt Israels Børn.

Moses took a census, just as the Lord had instructed, of the firstborn of the sons of Israel.

43 Og alle førstefødte af Mandkøn, efter Navnenes Tal, fra Maaned gamle og derover, efter deres Tal, vare to og tyve Tusinde, to Hundrede og tre og halvfjerdsindstyve.

And the males by their names, from one month and above, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.

44 Og Herren talede til Mose og sagde:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

45 Tag Leviterne i Stedet for alle førstefødte blandt Israels Børn og Leviternes Kvæg i Stedet for deres Kvæg, og Leviterne skulle høre mig til, mig Herren.

“Take the Levites, in place of the firstborn of the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites, in place of their cattle, and so the Levites shall be mine. I am the Lord.

46 Men hvad angaar de to Hundrede og tre og halvfjerdsindstyve af Israels Børns førstefødte, som skulle løses, og som ere flere end Leviterne,

But for the price of the two hundred and seventy-three, which exceed the number of the Levites compared to the number of firstborn of the sons of Israel,

47 da skal du tage fem Sekel for hvert Hoved; efter Helligdommens Sekel skal du tage dem; en Sekel er tyve Gera.

you shall take five shekels for each head, by the measure of the Sanctuary. A shekel has twenty obols.

48 Og du skal give Aron og hans Sønner de Penge for dem, der blive løste som overtallige af dem.

And you shall give the money to Aaron and his sons as the price of those that are in excess.”

49 Saa tog Mose Løsepenge af dem, som vare flere end de ved Leviterne løste.

Therefore, Moses took the money for those that were in excess, and whom they had redeemed from the Levites

50 Af Israels Børns førstefødte tog han de Penge: Tusinde og tre Hundrede og fem og tresindstyve Sekel efter Helligdommens Sekel.

in place of the firstborn of the sons of Israel: one thousand three hundred sixty-five shekels, according to the weight of the Sanctuary.

51 Og Mose gav Aron og hans Sønner de Penge for de løste, efter Herrens Mund, som Herren havde befalet Mose.

And he gave it to Aaron and his sons, according to the word by which the Lord had instructed him.
