Nehemias 3

1 Og Eliasib, Ypperstepræsten, og hans Brødre, Præsterne, gjorde sig rede og byggede Faareporten; de helligede den og indsatte dens Døre, de helligede den indtil Meas Taarn, indtil Hananeels Taarn.

Then rose up Elyashib the high priest with his brethren the priests, and they built the sheep-gate; they sanctified it, and set up its doors: even as far as the tower of Meah did they sanctify it, as far as the tower of Chananel.

2 Og Jerikos Mænd byggede ved Siden af ham; og Sakur, Imris Søn, byggede ved Siden af dem igen.

And by his side built the men of Jericho. And by his [other] side built Zaccur the son of Imri.

3 Men Senaas Børn byggede Fiskeporten; de tømrede den og indsatte dens Døre med dens Laase og dens Stænger.

But the fish-gate did the sons of Hassenaah build: they also laid its beams, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

4 Og Meremoth, en Søn af Uria, Hakkoz's Søn, istandsatte et Stykke ved Siden af dem; og Mesullam, en Søn af Berekia, Mesesabeels Søn, istandsatte et Stykke ved Siden af dem; og Zadok, Baenas Søn, istandsatte et Stykke ved Siden af dem.

And alongside of them repaired Meremoth the son of Uriyah, the son of Kakkoz. And alongside of them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechyah, the son of Meshezabel. And alongside of them repaired Zadok the son of Ba'ana.

5 Og ved Siden af dem istandsatte de af Thekoa et Stykke; men de store iblandt dem bøjede ikke deres Hals til Arbejde for deres Herre.

And alongside of them repaired the Teko'ites; but their principal men put not their necks to the work of their Lord.

6 Og den gamle Port istandsatte Jojada, Paseas Søn, og Mesullam, Besodias Søn; de tømrede den og indsatte dens Døre med dens Laase og dens Stænger.

Moreover the old gate repaired Yoyada' the son of Passeach, and Meshullam the son of Bessodeyah: they laid its beams, and set up its doors, and its locks, and its bars.

7 Og Gibeoniten Melathia og Meronothiten Jadon, Mændene af Gibeon og Mizpa istandsatte et Stykke ved Siden af dem, indtil Boligen for Landshøvdingen paa denne Side Floden.

And alongside of them repaired Melatyah the Gib'onite, and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gib'on and of Mizpah, unto the seat of the governor on this side of the river.

8 Ved hans Side istandsatte Ussiel, Harhajas Søn, en af Guldsmedene, et Stykke; og ved hans Side istandsatte Hanania, en Salvehandler, et Stykke; og de gjorde Jerusalem fast indtil den brede Mur.

Alongside of him repaired 'Uzziel the son of Charhayah, of the goldsmiths. And alongside of him repaired Chananyah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem as far as the broad wall.

9 Og ved Siden at dem istandsatte Refaja, Hurs Søn, Øversten over Halvdelen af Jerusalems Kreds, et Stykke.

And alongside of them repaired Rephayah the son of Chur, the chief of the half of the district of Jerusalem.

10 Og ved Siden af dem istandsatte Jedaja, Harumafs Søn, et Stykke, og det tværs over for sit Hus; og ved hans Side istandsatte Hattus, Hasabenjas Søn, et Stykke.

And alongside of them repaired Jedayah the son of Charumaph, and this opposite to his house. And alongside of him repaired Chattush the son of Chashabneyah.

11 Malkia, Harims Søn, og Hasub, Pahath-Moabs Søn, istandsatte en anden Strækning, tilmed Ovntaarnet.

Another division did Malkiyah the son of Charim, and Chashub the son of Pachathmoab, repair, as also the tower of the ovens.

12 Og ved Siden af ham istandsatte Sallum, Lohes's Søn, Øversten for den halve Del af Jerusalems Kreds, han og hans Døtre, et Stykke.

And alongside of him repaired Shallum the son of Hallochesh, the chief of the other half of the district of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.

13 Dalporten istandsatte Hanun og Indbyggerne af Sanoa; de byggede den og indsatte dens Døre, med dens Laase og dens Stænger, og tusinde Alen paa Muren indtil Møgporten.

The gate of the valley repaired Chanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoach: they built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and a thousand cubits of the wall as far as the dung-gate.

14 Men Malkia, Rekabs Søn, Øversten for Beth-Kerems Kreds, istandsatte Møgporten; han byggede den og indsatte dens Døre med dens Laase og Stænger.

And the dung-gate repaired Malkiyah the son of Rechah, the chief of the district of Beth-hakkerem: he built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

15 Men Kildeporten istandsatte Sallum, Kol-Koses Søn, Øversten for Mizpas Kreds; han byggede den og tækkede den og indsatte dens Døre med dens Laase og dens Stænger; tilmed Muren ved Sela Dam hen imod Kongens Have og indtil Trapperne, som gaa ned fra Davids Stad.

And the gate of the fountain repaired Shallum the son of Col-chozeh, the chief of the district of Mizpah: he built it and covered it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Shelach by the king's garden, and as far as the stairs that lead down from the city of David.

16 Efter ham istandsatte Nehemia, Asbuks Søn, Øversten for den halve Del af Bethzurs Kreds, et Stykke, indtil tværs over for Davids Grave og indtil den Dam, som var anlagt, og indtil de vældiges Hus.

Next to him repaired Nehemiah the son of 'Azbuk, the chief of the half district of Beth-zur, as far as the place opposite to the sepulchres of David, and as far as the pool that was [newly] made, and as far as the house of the mighty men.

17 Efter ham istandsatte af Leviterne, Rehum, Banis Søn, et Stykke; ved Siden af ham istandsatte Hasabia, Øversten for den halve Del af Kej-Iks Kreds, et Stykke for sin Kreds.

Next to him repaired the Levites: Rechum the son of Bani. Alongside of him repaired Chashabyah, the chief of the half district of Ke'ilah, for his district.

18 Efter ham istandsatte af deres Brødre Bavaj, Henadads Søn, et Stykke; han var Øverste for den anden halve Del af Kejlas Kreds.

Next to him repaired their brethren: Bavai the son of Chenadad, the chief of the [other] half district of Ke'ilah.

19 Og ved Siden af ham istandsatte Eser, Jesuas Søn, den Øverste i Mizpa, en anden Strækning tværs over for, hvor man gaar op til Rustkammeret ved Hjørnet.

And there repaired alongside of him 'Ezer the son of Joshua, the chief of Mizpah, another division, opposite to the ascent to the armory at the angle.

20 Efter ham istandsatte Baruk, Sabbajs Søn, med Iver en anden Strækning, fra Hjørnet indtil Ypperstepræsten Eliasibs Hus's Dør.

Next to him did Baruch the son of Zaccai' earnestly repair another division, from the angle as far as the door of the house of Elyashib the high priest.

21 Efter ham istandsatte Meremothj en Søn af Uria, Hakkoz's Søn, en anden Strækning, fra Eliasibs Hus's Dør og indtil Enden af Eliasibs Hus.

Next to him repaired Meremoth the son of Uriyah the son of Hakkoz another division, from the door of the house of Elyashib even as far as the end of the house of Elyashib.

22 Og efter ham istandsatte Præsterne, Mændene fra Sletten, et Stykke.

And next to him repaired the priests, the men of the plain [of Jordan].

23 Efter dem istandsatte Benjamin og Hasub et Stykke tværs over for deres Hus; efter ham istandsatte Asaria, en Søn af Maeseja, Ananias Søn, et Stykke ved sit Hus.

Next to him repaired Benjamin and Chashub opposite to their house. Next to him repaired 'Azaryah the son of Ma'aseyah the son of 'Ananyah alongside of his house.

24 Efter ham istandsatte Bennuj, Henadads Søn, en anden Strækning, fra Asarias Hus indtil Krogen og indtil Hjørnet.

Next to him repaired Binnui the son of Chenadad another division, from the house of 'Azaryah as far as the angle, and as far as the corner.

25 Palal, Ussajs Søn, byggede tværs over for Krogen og Taarnet, som springer frem fra Kongens høje Hus, og som er ved Vagtens Forgaard; efter ham byggede Pedaja, Pareos's Søn.

Palal the son of Uzai [repaired] from opposite to the angle, and the tower which standeth out from the king's upper house, that was by the court of the prison. Next to him Pedayah the son of Par'osh.

26 — Og de livegne boede i Ofel indtil tværs over for Vandporten imod Østen og til det Taarn, som springer frem. —

And the temple-servants dwelt on the hill fort, [and they built] as far as opposite to the water-gate toward the east, and the tower that standeth out.

27 Efter ham istandsatte de af Thekoa en anden Strækning tværs over for det store fremspringende Taarn og indtil Ofels Mur.

Next to them repaired the Teko'ites another division from opposite the great tower that standeth out, and as far as the wall of the hill fort.

28 Fra Hesteporten istandsatte Præsterne et Stykke, hver tværs over for sit Hus.

From above the horse-gate repaired the priests, every one opposite to his house.

29 Efter dem istandsatte Zadok, Immers Søn, et Stykke, tværs over for sit Hus; efter ham istandsatte Semaja, Sekanjas Søn, som tog Vare paa Østerporten, et Stykke.

Next to this repaired Zadok the son of Immer opposite to his house. And next to him repaired Shema'yah the son of Schechanyah, the keeper of the east gate.

30 Efter ham istandsatte Hanania, Selemias Søn, og Hanun, Zalafs sjette Søn, en anden Strækning; efter dem istandsatte Mesullam, Berekias Søn, et Stykke, tværs over for sit Kammer.

Next to him repaired Chananyah the son of Shelemyah, and Chanun the sixth son of Zalaph another division. Next to him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechyah opposite to his chamber.

31 Efter ham istandsatte Malkia, Guldsmedens Søn, et Stykke indtil de livegnes og Kræmmernes Hus, tværs over for Befalingsmandsporten og indtil Opgangen ved Hjørnet.

Next to him repaired Malkiyah the goldsmith's son as far as the house of the temple-servants, and of the merchants, opposite to the mustering-gate, and to the upper chamber of the corner.

32 Og imellem Opgangen ved Hjørnet og Faareporten istandsatte Guldsmedene og Kræmmerne et Stykke.

And between the upper chamber of the corner and the sheep-gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
