1 Og disse ere Øversterne for deres Fædrenehuse og deres Slægt, de som droge op med mig under Kong Artakserkses's Regering, fra Babel:

These are now the chiefe fathers of them, and the genealogie of them that came vp with mee from Babel, in the reigne of King Artahshashte.

2 Af Pinehas's Børn, Gersom; af Ithamars Børn, Daniel; af Davids Børn, Hattus;

Of the sonnes of Phinehas, Gershom: of the sonnes of Ithamar, Daniel: of the sonnes of Dauid, Hattush:

3 af Sekanias Børn, af Pareos's Børn, Sakaria og med ham hans Slægt hundrede og halvtredsindstyve Mandspersoner;

Of the sonnes of Shechaniah, of the sonnes of Pharosh, Zechariah, and with him the count of the males, an hundreth and fiftie.

4 af Pahath-Moabs Børn, Elioenaj, Serakias Søn, og med ham to Hundrede Mandspersoner;

Of the sonnes of Pahath Moab, Elihoenai, the sonne of Zerahiah, and with him two hundreth males.

5 af Sekanias Børn, Jehasiels Søn, og med ham tre Hundrede Mandspersoner;

Of the sonnes of Shechaniah, the sonne of Iahaziel, and with him three hundreth males.

6 af Adins Børn, Ebed, Jonathans Søn, og med ham halvtredsindstyve Mandspersoner;

And of the sonnes of Adin, Ebed the sonne of Ionathan, and with him fiftie males.

7 og af Elams Børn, Jesaja, Athalias Søn, og med ham halvfjerdsindstyve Mandspersoner;

And of the sonnes of Elam, Ieshaiah the sonne of Athaliah, and with him seuentie males.

8 og af Sefatjas Børn, Sebadja, Mikaels Søn, og med ham firsindstyve Mandspersoner;

And of the sonnes of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the sonne of Michael, and with him fourescore males.

9 af Joabs Børn, Obadja, Jehiels Søn, og med ham to Hundrede og atten Mandspersoner;

Of the sonnes of Ioab, Obadiah the sonne of Iehiel, and with him two hundreth and eighteene males.

10 af Selomiths Børn, Josifjas Søn, og med ham hundrede og tresindstyve Mandspersoner;

And of the sonnes of Shelomith the sonne of Iosiphiah, and with him an hundreth and threescore males.

11 og af Bebajs Børn, Sakaria, Bebajs Søn, og med ham otte og tyve Mandspersoner;

And of the sonnes of Bebai, Zechariah the sonne of Bebai, and with him eight and twentie males.

12 og af Asgads Børn, Johanan, Hakkatans Søn, og med ham hundrede og ti Mandspersoner;

And of the sonnes of Azgad, Iohanan the sonne of Hakkatan, and with him an hundreth and ten males.

13 og af Adonikams Børn vare nogle senere, og deres Navne vare disse: Elifelet, Jeiel og Semaja, og med dem tresindstyve Mandspersoner;

And of the sonnes of Adonikam, that were the last, whose names are these: Eliphelet, Iehiel and Shemaiah, and with them three score males.

14 og af Bigevajs Børn, Uthaj og Sabbud, og med dem halvfjerdsindstyve Mandspersoner.

And of the sonnes of Biguai, Vthai, and Zabbud, and with them seuentie males.

15 Og jeg samlede dem ved Floden, som løber til Ahava, og der lejrede vi os tre Dage; og der jeg gav Agt paa Folket og paa Præsterne, da fandt jeg ingen af Levis Børn der.

And I gathered them to the Riuer that goeth toward Ahaua, and there abode we three dayes: then I viewed the people, and the Priests, and found there none of the sonnes of Leui.

16 Da sendte jeg Elieser, Ariel, Semaja og Elnathan og Jarib og Elnathan og Nathan og Sakaria og Messullam, de Øverste, og Jojarib og Elnathan, som vare forstandige Mænd,

Therefore sent I to Eliezer, to Ariel, to Shemeiah, and to Elnathan, and to Iarib, and to Elnathan, and to Nathan, and to Zechariah, and to Meshullam the chiefe, and to Ioiarib and to Elnathan, men of vnderstanding,

17 og jeg sendte dem til Iddo, som var den Øverste i det Sted Kasfia; og jeg lagde Ordene i deres Mund, som de skulde tale med Iddo, Ahio og de livegne i det Sted Kasfia, for at bringe os Tjenere til vor Guds Hus.

And I gaue them commandement, to Iddo the chiefest at the place of Casiphia, and I told them the words that they should speake to Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims at the place of Casiphia, that they should cause the ministers of the house of our God to come vnto vs.

18 Og de bragte os, efterdi vor Guds gode Haand var over os, en forstandig Mand af Mahelis Børn, som nedstammede fra Levi, Israels Søn, nemlig Serebia og hans Sønner og hans Brødre, atten Mænd.

So by the good hande of our God which was vpon vs, they brought vs a man of vnderstanding of the sonnes of Mahali the sonne of Leui the sonne of Israel, and Sherebiah with his sonnes and his brethren, euen eighteene.

19 Og Hasabia og tillige med ham Jesaja, af Meraris Børn, hans Brødre og deres Sønner, tyve Mænd.

Also Hashabiah, and with him Ieshaiah of the sonnes of Merari, with his brethren, and their sonnes twentie.

20 Og af de livegne, som David og Fyrsterne gav til Leviternes Tjeneste, to Hundrede og tyve livegne; alle disse vare nævnede ved Navn.

And of the Nethinims, whom Dauid had set, and the Princes for the seruice of the Leuites, two hundreth and twentie of the Nethinims, which all were named by name.

21 Og jeg lod der udraabe en Faste ved den Flod Ahava for at ydmyge os for vor Guds Ansigt for at bede ham om en lykkelig Rejse for os og vore smaa Børn og alt vort Gods.

And there at the Riuer, by Ahaua, I proclaimed a fast, that we might humble our selues before our God, and seeke of him a right way for vs, and for our children, and for all our substance.

22 Thi jeg skammede mig ved at begære Krigsmagt og Ryttere af Kongen til at hjælpe os imod Fjenden paa Vejen; thi saaledes havde vi sagt til Kongen: Vor Guds Haand er over alle dem, som søge ham, til det gode, og hans Styrke og hans Vrede er over alle dem, som forlade ham.

For I was ashamed to require of the King an armie and horsemen, to helpe vs against the enemie in the way, because we had spoken to the King, saying, The hande of our God is vpon all them that seeke him in goodnesse, but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

23 Saa fastede vi og bade til vor Gud derom, og han bønhørte os.

So we fasted, aud besought our God for this: and he was intreated of vs.

24 Og jeg udskilte tolv af Præsternes Øverster, nemlig Serebia, Hasabia og med dem ti af deres Brødre,

Then I separated twelue of the chiefe of the Priests, Sherebiah, and Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,

25 og jeg tilvejede dem Sølvet og Guldet og Karrene, som vare en Gave til vor Guds Hus, som Kongen og hans Raadsherrer og hans Fyrster og al Israel, som fandtes, havde givet.

And weighed them the siluer and the gold, and the vessels, euen the offring of ye house of our God, which the King and his counselers, and his Princes, and all Israel that were present had offred.

26 Og jeg tilvejede dem i deres Haand seks Hundrede og halvtredsindstyve Centner Sølv og Sølvkar til hundrede Centner, Guld til hundrede Centner

And I weighed vnto their hand sixe hundreth and fiftie talents of siluer, and in siluer vessel, an hundreth talents, and in golde, an hundreth talents:

27 og tyve Guldbægere til tusinde Drakmer og to Kar af godt skinnende Kobber, kostelige som Guld.

And twentie basins of golde, of a thousand drammes, and two vessels of shining brasse very good, and precious as golde.

28 Og jeg sagde til dem: I ere Herren hellige, og Karrene ere hellige, og Sølvet og Guldet er en frivillig Gave til Herren, eders Fædres Gud.

And I said vnto them, Ye are consecrate vnto the Lord, and the vessels are consecrate, and the gold and the siluer are freely offred vnto the Lord God of your fathers.

29 Værer aarvaagne og bevarer det, indtil I veje det ud for Præsternes og Leviternes Øverster og Øversterne for Fædrenehusene iblandt Israel i Jerusalem, i Herrens Hus's Kamre.

Watch ye, and keepe them vntill ye weigh them before the chiefe Priestes and the Leuites, and the chiefe fathers of Israel in Ierusalem in the chambers of the house of the Lord.

30 Da toge Præsterne og Leviterne imod samme Sølv og Guld og Kar efter Vægt for at føre det til Jerusalem, til vor Guds Hus.

So the Priests and the Leuites receiued the weight of the siluer and of the golde, and of the vessels to bring them to Ierusalem, vnto the house of our God.

31 Og vi rejste fra Ahavas Flod paa den tolvte Dag i den første Maaned for at drage til Jerusalem, og vor Guds Haand var over os og friede os for Fjendens Haand og dens, som lurede ved Vejen.

Then we departed from the Riuer of Ahauah on the twelft day of the first moneth, to go vnto Ierusalem, and the hand of our God was vpon vs, and deliuered vs from the hand of the enemie, and of such as layde waite by the way.

32 Og vi kom til Jerusalem, og vi bleve der tre Dage.

And we came to Ierusalem, and abode there three dayes.

33 Men paa den fjerde Dag blev Sølvet og Guldet og Karrene i vor Guds Hus tilvejet Meremoth, Præsten Urias Søn, og med ham var Eleasar, Pinehas's Søn, og med dem vare Leviterne Josabad, Jesuas Søn, og Noadja, Binnuis Søn,

And on ye fourth day was the siluer weighed, and the golde and the vessell in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the sonne of Vriah the Priest, and with him was Eleazar the sonne of Phinehas, and with them was Iozabad the sonne of Ieshua, and Noadiah the sonne of Binnui the Leuites,

34 efter Tal, efter Vægten paa det alt sammen; og hele Vægten blev samme Tid opskreven.

By number and by weight of euery one, and all the weight was written at the same time.

35 Og de Folk, som havde været bortførte, de, som vare komne fra Fangenskabet, ofrede Israels Gud Brændofre, tolv Okser for al Israel, seks og halvfemsindstyve Vædre, syv og halvfjerdsindstyve Lam, tolv Bukke til Syndofre, alt sammen til Brændoffer for Herren.

Also the children of the captiuitie, which were come out of captiuitie, offred burnt offrings vnto the God of Israel, twelue bullockes for all Israel, ninetie and sixe rammes, seuentie and seuen lambes, and twelue hee goates for sinne: all was a burnt offring of the Lord.

36 Og de overgave Kongens Statholdere og Landshøvdingene paa denne Side Floden Kongens Love, og de hjalp højlig Folket og Guds Hus.

And they deliuered the Kings commission vnto the Kings officers, and to the captaines beyond the Riuer: and they promoted the people, and the house of God.
