Ezekiel 21
1 Og Herrens Ord kom til mig saaledes:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Du Menneskesøn! vend dit Ansigt imod Jerusalem, og lad Ordene falde som Draaber imod Helligdommene, og spaa imod Israels Land;
Therefore prophesy, son of man, set thy face steadfastly toward Jerusalem, and look toward their holy places, and thou shalt prophesy against the land of Israel,
3 og sig til Israels Land: Saa siger Herren: Se jeg kommer imod dig og uddrager mit Sværd af sin Skede, og jeg vil udrydde af dig den retfærdige med den ugudelige.
and thou shalt say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I am against thee, and I will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and I will destroy out of thee the transgressor and unrighteous.
4 Efterdi jeg vil udrydde af dig den retfærdige med den ugudelige, derfor skal mit Sværd udfare af sin Skede: Imod alt Kød fra Sønden til Norden.
Because I will destroy out of thee the unrighteous and the transgressor, [therefore] so shall my sword come forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
5 Og alt Kød skal fornemme, at jeg Herren, jeg har uddraget mit Sværd af sin Skede: Det skal ikke mere vende tilbage.
and all flesh shall know that I the Lord have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath: it shall not return any more.
6 Og du Menneskesøn, suk! saa det bryder i dine Lænder, og saa det er dig bittert, skal du sukke for deres Øjne.
And thou, son of man, groan with the breaking of thy loins; thou shalt even groan heavily in their sight.
7 Og det skal ske, naar de sige til dig: Hvorfor sukker du? da skal du sige: For et Rygte; thi det kommer, og hvert Hjerte skal smelte, og alle Hænder skulle synke, og hver Aand skal blive sløv, og alle Knæ skulle ryste som Vand; se, det kommer, og det sker, siger den Herre, Herre.
And it shall come to pass, if they shall say to thee, Wherefore dost thou groan? that thou shalt say, For the report; because it comes: and every heart shall break, and all hands shall become feeble, and all flesh and every spirit shall faint, and all thighs shall be defiled with moisture: behold, it comes, saith the Lord.
8 Og Herrens Ord kom til mig saaledes:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
9 Du Menneskesøn! spaa og sig: Saa siger Herren, sig: Et Sværd, et Sværd, det er gjort hvast og blankt tillige!
Son of man, prophesy, and thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord; Say, Sword, sword, be sharpened and rage,
10 For at udføre en Slagtning er det gjort hvast, og for at lyne er det gjort blankt; — eller skulle vi vel glæde os til, at min Søns Scepter vil lade haant om alt Træ?
that thou mayest slay victims; be sharpened that thou mayest be bright, ready for slaughter, slay, set at nought, despise every tree.
11 Man gav det hen at gøres blankt for at tage det i Haand; Sværdet er gjort hvast, og det er gjort blankt for at give det i Morderens Haand.
And he made it ready for his hand to hold: the sword is sharpened, it is ready to put into the hand of the slayer.
12 Raab og hyl, du Menneskesøn! thi det skal komme over mit Folk, ja, over alle Fyrster i Israel; de ere overgivne til Sværdet tillige med mit Folk; derfor slaa paa Hoften!
Cry out and howl, son of man: for this [sword] is come upon my people, this [sword is come] upon all the princes of Israel: they shall be as strangers: [judgment] with the sword is come upon my people: therefore clap thine hands, for sentence has been passed:
13 Thi Prøven er sket! og hvad, dersom endog det haanende Scepter ikke holder Stand? siger den Herre, Herre.
and what if even the tribe be rejected? it shall not be, saith the Lord God.
14 Og du Menneskesøn! spaa og slaa Haand i Haand; og Sværdet skal blive dobbelt, ja tredobbelt; det er et Sværd, for hvilket der skal ligge ihjelslagne; det er et Sværd, for hvilket den store skal ligge ihjelslagen; det er imod dem fra alle Sider.
And thou, son of man, prophesy, and clap thine hands, and take a second sword: the third sword is [the sword] of the slain, the great sword of the slain: and thou shalt strike them with amazement, lest the heart should faint
15 Paa det at Hjertet maa smelte, og der maa blive mange Anstød, har jeg sat det blinkende Sværd imod alle deres Porte; ak! det er gjort til at lyne, det er draget til at slagte.
and the weak ones be multiplied at every gate—they are given up to the slaughter of the sword: it is well fitted for slaughter, it is well fitted for glittering.
16 Tag dig sammen til højre! vend dig til venstre! hvorhen din Æg er beskikket.
And do thou go on, sharpen thyself on the right and on the left whithersoever thy face may set itself.
17 Ogsaa jeg vil slaa min Haand i min Haand og stille min Harme; jeg Herren, jeg har talt det.
And I also will clap my hands, and let loose my fury: I the Lord have spoken [it].
18 Og Herrens Ord kom til mig saalunde:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
19 Og du Menneskesøn! afsæt dig to Veje, ad hvilke Kongen af Babels Sværd skal komme, de skulle begge udgaa fra eet Land, og tegn en Haand, tegn den, hvor Vejen til hver Stad begynder.
and thou, son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may enter in: the two shall go forth of one country; and [there shall be] a force at the top of the way of the city, thou shalt set [it] at the top of the way,
20 Du skal afsætte en Vej, ad hvilken Sværdet kan komme til Ammons Børns Rabba og til Juda ind i den faste Stad Jerusalem.
that the sword may enter in upon Rabbath of the children of Ammon, and upon Judea, and upon Jerusalem in the midst thereof.
21 Thi Kongen af Babel staar paa Vejskellet, hvor de to Veje begynde, for at lade sig spaa; han kaster med Pilene, han spørger Husguderne, han ser paa Leveren.
For the king of Babylon shall stand on the old way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination, to make bright the arrow, and to enquire of the graven images, and to examine [the victims].
22 I hans højre Haand er Spaadommen „Jerusalem” falden, at han skal opstille Murbrækkere, at han skal oplade Munden med Mord og opløfte Røsten med Krigsskrig, opstille Murbrækkere imod Portene, opkaste en Belejringsvold, bygge Vagttaarne.
On his right was the divination against Jerusalem, to cast a mound, to open the mouth in shouting, to lift up the voice with crying, to cast a mound against her gates, to cast up a heap, and to build forts.
23 Men det skal vorde dem som en Forfængelighedsspaadom i deres Øjne, de have Ed paa Ed; men han skal bringe Misgerningen i Erindring, og de skulle gribes.
And he was to them as one using divination before them, and he himself recounting his iniquities, that they might be borne in mind.
24 Derfor, saa siger den Herre, Herre: Fordi I bringe eders Misgerning i Erindring, idet eders Overtrædelser blottes, saa at eders Synder ses i alle eders Gerninger, ja, fordi I bringes i Erindring, skulle I gribes med Haanden.
Therefore thus saith the Lord, Because ye have caused your iniquities to be remembered, in the discovery of your wickedness, so that your sins should be seen, in all your wickedness and in your [evil] practices; because ye have caused remembrance [of them], in these shall ye be taken.
25 Og du gennemborede, du ugudelige, du Israels Fyrste, hvis Dag kommer til den Tid, naar Misgerningen medfører Enden!
And thou profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day, [even] an end, is come in a sea of iniquity, thus saith the Lord;
26 Saa siger den Herre, Herre: Ypperstepræstehuen skal borttages, og Kongekronen bortføres; hvad der er, skal ikke være mere, det nedtrykte skal ophøjes og det høje nedtrykkes.
Thou hast taken off the mitre and put on the crown, it shall not have such [another] after it: thou hast abased that which was high, and exalted that which was low.
27 Omvæltning, Omvæltning, Omvæltning vil jeg gøre det til; heller ikke denne skal vare ved — indtil han kommer, hvem Retten hører til, og jeg giver ham den.
Injustice, injustice, injustice, will I make it: woe to it: such shall it be until he comes to whom it belongs; and I will deliver [it] to him.
28 Og du Menneskesøn! spaa og sig: Saa siger den Herre, Herre om Ammons Børn og om deres Haan, ja, sig: Et Sværd, et Sværd er draget til Slagtning, det er gjort fuldkomment blankt til at lyne,
And thou, son of man, prophesy, and thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord, concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and thou shalt say, O sword, sword, drawn for slaughter, and drawn for destruction, awake, that thou mayest gleam.
29 idet man bringer dig forfængelige Syner, idet man spaar dig Løgn for at lægge dig ved de ihjelslagne ugudeliges Halse, hvis Dag kom til den Tid, da Misgerningen medførte Enden.
While thou art seeing vain [visions], and while thou art prophesying falsehoods, to bring thyself upon the necks of ungodly transgressors, the day is come, [even] an end, in a season of iniquity.
30 Stik Sværd i Skeden! paa det Sted, hvor du er skabt, i det Land, hvor du er født, vil jeg dømme dig.
Turn, rest not in this place wherein thou wert born: in thine own land will I judge thee.
31 Og jeg vil udøse min Vrede over dig, min Fortørnelses Ild vil jeg oppuste imod dig, og jeg vil give dig i grumme Mænds Hænder, som ere Mestre til at ødelægge.
And I will pour out my wrath upon thee, I will blow upon thee with the fire of my wrath, and I will deliver thee into the hands of barbarians skilled in working destruction.
32 Du skal være Ilden til Næring, dit Blod skal blive midt i Landet, du skal ikke ihukommes; thi jeg Herren, jeg har talt det.
Thou shalt be fuel for fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of thy land; there shall be no remembrance at all of thee: for I the Lord have spoken [it].
