5 Mosebog 27
1 Og Mose og de Ældste af Israel bøde Folket og sagde: Holder alle de Bud, som jeg byder eder i Dag.
Moses/I, along with the other Israeli leaders, said this to the people: “Obey all the commandments that I am giving to you today.
2 Og det skal ske paa den Dag, naar I gaa over Jordanen til det Land, som Herren din Gud giver dig, da skal du oprejse dig store Stene og overstryge dem med Kalk.
[Soon] you will cross the Jordan [River] and enter the land that Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped], promised to give to you. There, in that very fertile [IDM] land on the [west] side of the Jordan [River], set up some large stones [on Ebal Mountain], and cover them with plaster. Then write on those stones all these laws and teachings/instructions.
3 Og du skal skrive paa dem alle denne Lovs Ord, naar du gaar over, paa det du maa komme ind i Landet, som Herren din Gud giver dig, et Land, som flyder med Mælk og Honning, som Herren dine Fædres Gud har talet til dig.
4 Og det skal ske, naar I gaa over Jordanen, da skulle I oprejse disse Stene, om hvilke jeg befaler eder i Dag, paa Ebals Bjerg, og du skal overstryge dem med Kalk.
5 Og du skal bygge der Herren din Gud et Alter, et Alter af Sten, du skal ikke røre Jern over dem.
And build a stone altar there to offer sacrifices to Yahweh, but do not cut those stones with iron tools.
6 Du skal bygge Herren din Guds Alter af hele Stene og ofre Herren din Gud Brændofre derpaa.
The altar that you make to burn sacrifices to Yahweh our God must be made with uncut stones.
7 Du skal og ofre Takofre og æde der og være glad for Herren din Guds Ansigt.
And there you must sacrifice offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh, and you must eat [your share of those offerings] and rejoice/celebrate in the presence of Yahweh.
8 Og du skal skrive alle denne Lovs Ord paa Stenene; gør det ret tydeligt.
And, when you write these laws on those stones, you must write them very clearly.”
9 Og Mose og Præsterne, Leviterne, talede til al Israel og sagde: Agt og hør, Israel! du er paa denne Dag bleven Herren din Guds Folk,
Then Moses/I, along with the priests, said to all the Israeli people, “You Israeli people, be quiet and listen [to what I am saying]. Today you have become the people who belong to Yahweh, our God.
10 at du skal høre Herren din Guds Røst og gøre efter hans Bud og hans Skikke, hvilke jeg byder dig i Dag.
So, you must do what he tells you, and obey all the rules and regulations that I am giving to you today.”
11 Og Mose bød Folket paa den samme Dag og sagde:
On that same day Moses/I said to the Israeli people,
12 Disse skulde staa og velsigne Folket paa Garizims Bjerg, naar I ere komne over Jordanen: Simeon og Levi og Juda og Isaskar og Josef og Benjamin.
“After you have crossed over the Jordan [River], the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Gerizim Mountain and [request Yahweh to] bless the people.
13 Og disse skulle staa for at forbande paa Ebals Bjerg: Ruben, Gad og Aser og Sebulon, Dan og Nafthali.
And the tribes of Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Ebal Mountain and listen to the things that Yahweh will do when he curses the people.
14 Og Leviterne skulle svare og sige til hver Mand af Israel med høj Røst:
The descendants of Levi must shout these words loudly:
15 Forbandet være den Mand, som gør et udskaaret eller et støbt Billede, en Vederstyggelighed for Herren, en Mesters Hænders Gerning, og sætter det op i Skjul; og alt Folket skal svare og sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who makes an idol of stone, or of wood, or of metal, and secretly sets it up [and worships it]. Yahweh considers that those things, made by humans [SYN], are detestable/disgusting.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
16 Forbandet være den, som ringeagter sin Fader eller sin Moder; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who dishonors his father or his mother.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
17 Forbandet være den, som flytter sin Næstes Markskel; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who removes someone else’s markers of property boundaries.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
18 Forbandet være den, som kommer en blind til at fare vild paa Vejen; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who leads a blind person to go (in the wrong direction/where that person does not want to go).’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
19 Forbandet være den, som bøjer Retten for den fremmede og faderløse og Enken; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who deprives foreigners or orphans or widows of the things that the laws state must be done for them.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
20 Forbandet være den, som ligger hos sin Faders Hustru, thi han har opslaaet sin Faders Flig; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who (shows no respect for/disgraces his father) by having sex with [EUP] any of his father’s wives.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
21 Forbandet være den, som ligger hos noget Dyr; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex [EUP] with any animal.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
22 Forbandet være den, som ligger hos sin Søster, som er hans Faders Datter eller hans Moders Datter; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with his sister or with his half-sister.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
23 Forbandet være den, som ligger hos sin Hustrus Moder; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with [EUP] his mother-in-law.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
24 Forbandet være den, som slaar sin Næste i Skjul; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who secretly murders someone else.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
25 Forbandet være den, som tager Gave for at slaa en Person ihjel og udøse uskyldigt Blod; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who accepts a bribe to murder someone who (is innocent/has not done something that is wrong.)’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
26 Forbandet være den, som ikke holder Ordene i denne Lov og gør derefter; og alt Folket skal sige: Amen!
‘Yahweh will curse anyone who disobeys these laws and refuses to declare that these laws [are good].’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’”
