2 Samuel 1

1 Og det skete efter Sauls Død, der David var kommen tilbage efter at have slaaet Amalekiterne, da blev David i Ziklag to Dage.

2 Og det skete paa den tredje Dag, se, da kom en Mand fra Lejren fra Saul, og hans Klæder vare sønderrevne, og der var Jord paa hans Hoved, og det skete, der han kom til David, da faldt han ned paa Jorden og nedbøjede sig.

Forsothe in the thridde dai a man apperide, comynge fro the castels of Saul with the cloth to-rent, and his heed spreynt with dust; and as he cam to Dauid, he felde on his face, and worschipide.

3 Og David sagde til ham: Hvorfra kommer du? og han sagde til ham: Jeg er undkommen af Israels Lejr.

And Dauid seide to hym, Fro whennus comest thou? Which seide to Dauid, Y fledde fro the castels of Israel.

4 Og David sagde til ham: Hvad er der sket for en Sag? Kære, kundgør mig det! Og han sagde: Alt Folket flyede fra Slaget, der faldt ogsaa meget af Folket og døde, ja endog Saul og Jonathan, hans Søn, ere døde.

And Dauid seide to hym, What is the word which is doon; schewe thou to me. And he seide, The puple fledde fro the batel, and many of the puple felden, and ben deed; but also Saul, and Jonathas, his sonne, perischyden.

5 Og David sagde til den unge Karl, som forkyndte ham dette: Hvorledes ved du, at Saul og Jonathan, hans Søn, ere døde?

And Dauid seide to the yong man, that telde to hym, Wherof woost thou, that Saul is deed, and Jonathas, his sonne?

6 Da sagde den unge Karl, som forkyndte ham det: Det hændte sig, at jeg kom paa Gilboas Bjerg, og se, Saul støttede sig paa sit Spyd, og se, Vogne og Rytternes Anførere trængte ind paa ham.

And the yong man seide, that telde to hym, Bi hap Y cam in to the hil of Gelboe, and Saul lenyde on his spere; forsothe charis and knyytis neiyiden to hym;

7 Og han saa omkring bag sig og saa mig, og han kaldte ad mig, og jeg sagde: Se, her er jeg.

and he turnede bihynde his bak, `and siy me, and clepide. To whom whanne Y hadde answeride, Y am present; he seide to me, Who art thou?

8 Og han sagde til mig: Hvo er du? og jeg sagde til ham: Jeg er en Amalekiter.

And Y seide to hym, Y am a man of Amalech.

9 Da sagde han til mig: Kære, træd hen til mig, og dræb mig, thi Krampen har grebet mig; men Livet er endnu ganske i mig.

And he spak to me, Stonde thou on me, and sle me; for angwischis holden me, and yit al my lijf is in me.

10 Og jeg traadte hen til ham og dræbte ham, thi jeg vidste, at han ikke kunde leve efter sit Fald; og jeg tog Kronen, som var paa hans Hoved, og Armsmykket, som var paa hans Arm, og har bragt dem hid til min Herre.

And Y stood on hym, and Y killide hym; for Y wiste that he myyte not lyue aftir the fallyng; and Y took the diademe, that was in his heed, and the bye fro his arm, and Y brouyte hidur to thee, my lord.

11 Da tog David fat i sine Klæder og sønderrev dem, og ligervis alle Mændene, som vare hos ham.

Forsothe Dauid took and to-rente hise clothis, and the men that weren with hym;

12 Og de sørgede og græd og fastede indtil Aftenen over Saul og over Jonathan, hans Søn, og over Herrens Folk og over Israels Hus, at de vare faldne ved Sværdet.

and thei weiliden, and wepten, and fastiden `til to euentid, on Saul, and Jonathas, his sone, and on the puple of the Lord, and on the hows of Israel, for thei hadden feld bi swerd.

13 Og David sagde til den unge Karl, som gav ham det til Kende: Hvorfra er du? og han sagde: Jeg er en fremmed amalekitisk Mands Søn.

And Dauid seide to the yong man, that telde to him, Of whennus art thou? And he answeride, Y am the sone of a man comelyng, of a man of Amalech.

14 Og David sagde til ham: Hvorledes frygtede du ikke for at udrække din Haand til at dræbe Herrens Salvede?

And Dauid seide to him, Whi dreddist thou not to sende thine hond, that thou schuldist sle the crist of the Lord?

15 Og David kaldte ad en af de unge Karle og sagde: Kom frem, fald an paa ham; og han slog ham, saa at han døde.

And Dauid clepide oon of hise children, and seide, Go thou, and falle on hym. Which smoot that yong man, and he was deed.

16 Og David sagde til ham: Dit Blod være over dit Hoved; thi din Mund vidnede imod dig, da du sagde: Jeg har dræbt Herrens Salvede.

And Dauid seide to hym, Thi blood be on thin heed; for thi mouth spak ayens thee, and seide, Y killide the crist of the Lord.

17 Og David sang denne Klagesang over Saul og over Jonathan, hans Søn,

Forsooth Dauid biweilide sych a weilyng on Saul, and on Jonathas, his sone;

18 og han befalede, at man skulde lære Judas Børn „Buen‟; se, den er skreven i den oprigtiges Bog:

and comaundide, that thei schulden teche the sones of Juda weilyng, as it is writun in the Book of Just Men. And Dauid seyde, Israel, biholde thou, for these men that ben deed, woundid on thin hiye placis;

19 O Israels Pryd! paa dine Høje ligger han ihjelslagen; hvorledes ere de vældige faldne?

the noble men of Israel ben slayn on thin hillis.

20 Giver det ikke til Kende i Gath, bebuder det ikke paa Gaderne i Askalon, at Filisternes Døtre ikke skulle glæde sig, at de uomskaarnes Døtre ikke skulle fryde sig!

Hou felden stronge men? nyle ye telle in Geth, nether telle ye in the weilottis of Ascolon; lest perauenture the douytris of Filisteis be glad, lest the douytris of vncircumcidid men `be glad.

21 I Bjerge udi Gilboa! der skal ikke komme Dug, ej heller Regn paa eder, der skal ej heller være Agre med Offergaver; thi der er de vældiges Skjold besmittet, Sauls Skjold ikke salvet med Olie.

Hillis of Gelboe, neither dew nethir reyn come on you, nether the feeldis of firste fruytis be; for the scheeld of stronge men was cast awey there, the scheeld of Saul, as `if he were not anoyntid with oile.

22 Jonathans Bue vendte ikke tilbage fra de ihjelslagnes Blod, fra de vældiges Fedme, og Sauls Sværd kom ikke tilbage forgæves.

Of the blood of slayn men, of the fatnesse of strong men, the arewe of Jonathas yede neuer abak, and the swerd of Saul turnede not ayen void.

23 Saul og Jonathan vare elskelige og liflige i deres Liv, de bleve heller ikke adskilte i deres Død; de vare lettere end Ørne, de vare stærkere end Løver.

Saul and Jonathas amyable, and fair in her lijf, weren not departid also in deeth; thei weren swiftere than eglis, strongere than liouns.

24 I Israels Døtre! græder over Saul, ham, som klædte eder stadseligt med Skarlagen, ham, som lod sætte Prydelse af Guld paa eders Klæder.

Douytris of Israel, wepe ye on Saul, that clothide you with fyn reed colourid in delicis, that yaf goldun ournementis to youre atyre.

25 Hvorledes ere de vældige faldne midt i Slaget? Jonathan er ihjelslagen paa dine Høje!

Hou `felden doun stronge men in batel?

26 Jeg er saare bedrøvet for dig, min Broder Jonathan! du var mig saare liflig, din Kærlighed var mig underfuldere end Kvinders Kærlighed.

Jonathas was slayn in the hiye places. Y make sorewe on thee, my brother Jonathas, ful fair, `and amyable more than the loue of wymmen; as a modir loueth oon aloone sone, so Y louyde thee.

27 Hvorledes ere de vældige faldne, og Krigsvaaben gaaet tabte?

Hou therfor `felden doun stronge men, and armeris of batel perischide?
