1 Da tog alt Judas Folk Ussia, da han var seksten Aar gammel, og de gjorde ham til Konge i hans Faders Amazias Sted.
Forsothe al the puple of Juda made kyng, Ozie, his sone, `of sixtene yeer, for his fader Amasie.
2 Han byggede Eloth og bragte den til Juda igen, efter at Kongen laa hos sine Fædre.
He bildide Hailath, and restoride it to the lordschipe of Juda, after that the kyng slepte with hise fadris.
3 Ussia var seksten Aar gammel, der han blev Konge, og regerede to og halvtredsindstyve Aar i Jerusalem; og hans Moders Navn var Jekolia fra Jerusalem.
Ozie was of sixtene yeer, whanne he bigan to regne; and he regnede two and fifti yeer in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Hiechelia, of Jerusalem.
4 Og han gjorde det, som var ret for Herrens Øjne, efter alt det, som hans Fader Amazia gjorde.
And he dide that, that was riytful in the siyt of the Lord, bi alle thingis whiche Amasie, his fadir, hadde do.
5 Og han søgte Gud i Sakarias Dage, og denne forstod sig paa Guds Syner; og i de Dage, han søgte Herren, gav Gud ham Lykke.
And he souyte the Lord in the daies of Zacarie, vndurstondynge and seynge God; and whanne he souyte God, God reulide hym in alle thingis.
6 Thi han drog ud og stred imod Filisterne og nedrev Murene i Gath og Murene i Jabne og Murene i Asdod og byggede Stæder ved Asdod og iblandt Filisterne.
Forsothe he yede out, and fauyt ayens Filisteis, and distriede the wal of Geth, and the wal of Jabyne, and the wal of Azotus; and he bildide stronge places in Azotus and in Filistiym.
7 Og Gud hjalp ham imod Filisterne og imod de Araber, som boede i Gur-Baal, og imod Meuniterne.
And the Lord helpide hym bothe ayens Filisteis, and ayens Arabeis that dwelliden in Garbahal, and ayenus Amonytis.
8 Og Ammoniterne gave Ussia Skænk, og han blev navnkundig indtil Ægypten, thi han blev saare mægtig.
Amonytis paieden yiftis to Ozie, and his name was pupplischid `til to the entryng of Egipt for ofte victories.
9 Tilmed byggede Ussia Taarne i Jerusalem ved Hjørneporten og ved Dalporten og paa Hjørnet og befæstede dem.

10 Han byggede og Taarne i Ørken og udhuggede mange Brønde; thi han havde meget Kvæg, baade i Lavlandet og paa Sletten, Agerdyrkere og Vingaardsmænd paa Bjergene og paa de frugtbare Marker; thi han var en Elsker af Jordbrug.
Also he bildide touris in the wildirnesse, and he diggide ful many cisternes; for he hadde many beestis as wel in the feeldi places as in the wastnesse of deseert. Also he hadde vyneris and tiliers of vynes in the hilles, and in Carmele; for he was a man youun to erthetilthe.
11 Og Ussia havde en Hær, som kunde føre Krig, og som tropvis drog ud i Strid, efter det Mandtal, som var optaget af Skriveren Jejel og af Fogeden Maeseja under Tilsyn af Hanania, en af Kongens Øverster.
Forsothe the oost of hise werriours, that yeden forth to batels, vndur the hond of Heiel, scribe, and of Masie, techere, and vndur the hond of Ananye that was of the duykis of the kyng;
12 Det hele Tal af de Øverste for Fædrenehusene, af de vældige til Strid, var to Tusinde og seks Hundrede.

14 Og Ussia beredte for dem, for den ganske Hær, Skjolde og Spyd og Hjelme og Pansere og Buer og Slyngestene.
And Ozie made redi to hem, that is, to al the oost, scheldis, and speris, and basynetis, and haburiouns, and bouwis, and slyngis to caste stonys.
15 Han indrettede ogsaa i Jerusalem kunstige Krigsredskaber, udtænkte af Kunstnere, for at sætte dem paa Taarnene og paa Hjørnerne, for at udskyde Pile og store Stene; og hans Navn kom ud indtil langt fraliggende Steder, fordi han vidunderligt blev hjulpen, indtil han blev stærk.
And he made in Jerusalem engynes of dyuerse kynde, which he settide in touris, and in the corneris of wallis, that tho schulden caste arowis and grete stoonys; and his name yede out fer, for the Lord helpide hym, and hadde maad him strong.
16 Men der han var bleven stærk, ophøjede hans Hjerte sig, indtil han handlede fordærveligt, og han forgreb sig imod Herren sin Gud og gik ind i Herrens Tempel for at gøre Røgelse paa Røgofferalteret.
But whanne he was maad strong, his herte was reisid in to his perischyng; and he dispiside `his Lord God; and he entride in to the temple of the Lord, and wolde brenne encense on the auter of encense.
17 Men Asaria, Præsten, og firsindstyve Herrens Præster med ham, duelige Folk, gik ind efter ham.
And anoon Azarie, the preest, entride after hym, and with hym the preestis of the Lord, seuenti `men ful noble;
18 Og de stode Kong Ussia imod og sagde til ham: Ussia! at gøre Røgoffer for Herren hører ikke dig til, men Præsterne, Arons Børn, som ere helligede til at gøre Røgoffer; gak ud af Helligdommen, thi du forgriber dig, og det bliver dig ikke til Ære for Gud Herren.

19 Da blev Ussia vred, og han havde et Røgelsekar i Haanden til at gøre Røgoffer; og som han blev vred paa Præsterne, da brød Spedalskheden frem i hans Pande i Præsternes Paasyn i Herrens Hus ved Røgofferalteret.
And Ozie was wrooth, and he helde in the hond the censere for to offre encence, and manaasside the preestis; and anoon lepre was sprungun forth in his forheed, bifor the preestis in the hows of the Lord on the auter of encense.
20 Og Asaria, den Ypperstepræst, og alle Præsterne vendte Ansigtet imod ham, og se, da var han spedalsk i sin Pande, og de hastede med ham derfra; ja, han skyndte sig selv ogsaa at gaa ud, thi Herren havde slaget ham.
And whanne Azarie, the bischop, hadde biholde hym, and alle othere preestis `hadden biholde him, thei sien lepre in his forheed, and hiyngli thei puttiden hym out; but also he was aferd, and hastide to go out; for he feelide anoon the veniaunce of the Lord.
21 Saa var Kong Ussia spedalsk indtil sin Dødsdag og boede spedalsk udi et særskilt Hus, thi han var udelukket fra Herrens Hus; og Jotham, hans Søn, var over Kongens Hus og dømte Folket i Landet.
Therfor kyng Ozie was leprouse `til to the dai of his deeth, and dwellide in an hows bi it silf, and he was ful of lepre; `for which he was cast out of the hows of the Lord. Forsothe Joathan, his sone, gouernyde the hows of the kyng, and demyde the puple of the lond.
22 Men det øvrige af Ussias Handeler, de første og de sidste, har Profeten Esajas, Amoz's Søn, beskrevet.
Sotheli Ysaie, the prophete, the sone of Amos, wroot the residue `of the formere and of the laste wordis of Ozie.
23 Og Ussia laa med sine Fædre, og de begrove ham hos hans Fædre i den Begravelsesager, som hørte Kongerne til; thi de sagde: Han er spedalsk; og Jotham, hans Søn, blev Konge i hans Sted!
And Ozie slepte with hise fadris, and thei birieden not hym in the feeld of the kyngis sepulcris, for he was leprouse; and Joathan, his sone, regnyde for hym.
