The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

2 Men Kahaths Sønner vare: Amram, Jizehar og Hebron og Ussiel.

The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 Og Amrams Børn vare: Aron og Mose og Maria; og Arons Sønner vare: Nadab og Abihu, Eleasar og Ithamar.

The sons of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

4 Eleasar avlede Pinehas, Pinehas avlede Abisua,

Eleazar conceived Phinehas, and Phinehas conceived Abishua.

5 og Abisua avlede Bukki, og Bukki avlede Ussi,

Truly, Abishua conceived Bukki, and Bukki conceived Uzzi.

6 og Ussi avlede Seraja, og Seraja avlede Merajoth,

Uzzi conceived Zerahiah, and Zerahiah conceived Meraioth.

Johanan conceived Azariah. He is the one who executed the priestly office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem.

Now Jehozadak departed, when the Lord took away Judah and Jerusalem, by the hands of Nebuchadnezzar.

So the sons of Levi were Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 Og Gersoms Sønners Navne ere disse: Libni og Simei.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

18 Men Kahaths Sønner vare: Amram og Jizehar og Hebron og Ussiel.

The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 Meraris Sønner vare: Maheli og Musi; og disse ere Leviternes Slægter efter deres Fædre.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And so these are the kindred of Levi, according to their families.

20 Gersoms Søn var Libni, hans Søn var Jahath, hans Søn var Simma,

Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 hans Søn var Joa, hans Søn var Iddo, hans Søn var Sera, hans Søn var Jeathraj.

The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

23 dennes Søn Elkana og hans Søn Abiasaf og hans Søn Assir,

Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son,

24 dennes Søn Thahath, dennes Søn Uriel, dennes Søn Ussia og dennes Søn Saul.

25 Og Elkanas Sønner vare: Amasaj og Ahimoth.

The sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth

26 Dennes Søn var Elkana, Elkanas Søn var Zofaj, og hans Søn var Nahath.

and Elkanah. The sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, Nahath his son,

27 Dennes Søn var Eliab, dennes Søn var Jeroham, dennes Søn var Elkana.

Now the sons of Merari were: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,

30 dennes Søn Simea, dennes Søn Hagija og hans Søn Asaja.

Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

31 Og disse ere de, som David ansatte til Sangens Tjeneste i Herrens Hus, efter at Arken var kommen til Hvile.

These are the ones whom David appointed over the singing men in the house of the Lord, in the place where the ark was located.

And they ministered before the tabernacle of the testimony with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. And they would stand according to their order in the ministry.

the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

38 en Søn af Jizehar, en Søn af Kahath, en Søn af Levi, en Søn af Israel.

And there was also his brother, Asaph, who was standing at his right, Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

Now the sons of Merari, their brothers, were on the left: Ethan, the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

45 en Søn af Husabja, en Søn af Amazia, en Søn af Hilkia,

the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,

46 en Søn af Amzi, en Søn af Bani, en Søn af Samer,

the son of Amzi, the son of Boni, the son of Shemer,

47 en Søn af Maheli, en Søn af Musi, en Søn af Merari, en Søn af Levi.

the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Og deres Brødre Leviterne vare givne dem til alle Haande Tjeneste i Guds Huses Tabernakel.

There were also their brothers, Levites who were appointed for every ministry of the tabernacle of the house of the Lord.

49 Men Aron og hans Sønner gjorde Røgoffer paa Brændofferets Alter og paa Røgofferalteret, de vare beskikkede til al Gerning i det Allerhelligste og til at gøre Forligelse for Israel efter alt det, som Mose, Guds Tjener, havde befalet.

Truly, Aaron and his sons were burning offerings upon the altar of holocausts and upon the altar of incense, for the entire work of the Holy of Holies, and to pray on behalf of Israel, in accord with all the things that Moses, the servant of God, had instructed.

50 Og disse ere Arons Efterkommere: Hans Søn var Eleasar, dennes Søn Pinehas, dennes Søn Abisua,

Now these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

51 dennes Søn Bukki, dennes Søn Ussi, dennes Søn Seraja,

Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

52 dennes Søn Merioth, dennes Søn Amaria, dennes Søn Ahitub,

Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

53 dennes Søn Zadok, dennes Søn Ahimaaz.

54 Og disse vare deres Boliger efter deres Byer i deres Landemærke, for Arons Børn, efter Kahathiternes Slægt; thi denne Lod faldt for dem.

And these are their habitations according to the villages and confines, specifically of the sons of Aaron, according to the kindred of the Kohathites. For it fell to them by lot.

55 Og de gave dem Hebron i Judas Land og dens Marker trindt omkring den.

And so, they gave Hebron, in the land of Judah, and its suburbs all around, to them,

And from the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with its suburbs, and Alemeth with its suburbs, as well as Anathoth with its suburbs. All the cities throughout their kindred were thirteen.

61 Men de øvrige, Kahaths Børn, af Stammens Slægt tilfaldt af den halve Manasses Stammes Halvdel ved Lod ti Stæder.

Now to the sons of Kohath, those remaining from their kindred, they gave ten cities, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, as a possession;

62 Og Gersoms Børn i deres Slægter havde af Isaskars Stamme og af Asers Stamme og af Nafthalis Stamme og af Manasses Stamme i Basan tretten Stæder.

and to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, from the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe Manasseh in Bashan: thirteen cities.

63 Meraris Børn i deres Slægter havde af Rubens Stamme og af Gads Stamme og af Sebulons Stamme ved Lod tolv Stæder.

Then to the sons of Merari, according to their families, from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, they gave by lot twelve cities.

64 Saa gave Israels Børn Leviterne Stæderne og deres Marker.

Also, the sons of Israel gave, to the Levites, cities and their suburbs,

65 Og de gave ved Lod af Judas Børns Stamme og af Simeons Børns Stamme og af Benjamins Børns Stamme disse Stæder, som de nævnede ved Navn.

and they gave them by lot, out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities, which they called by their names.

66 Og de af Kahaths Børns Slægter fik Ejendoms Stæder af Efraims Stamme.

And for those who were from the kindred of the sons of Kohath, the cities with their borders were from the tribe of Ephraim.

67 Thi de gave dem Tilflugtsstæderne Sikem og dens Marker paa Efraims Bjerg og Geser og dens Marker

Then they gave to them the cities of refuge: Shechem with its suburbs on mount Ephraim, and Gezer with its suburbs,

68 og Jokmeam og dens Marker og Beth-Horon og dens Marker

as well as Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth-horon similarly,

69 og Ajalon og dens Marker og Gath-Rimmon og dens Marker

and indeed Hilen with its suburbs, and Gath Rimmon in the same manner.

Then too, out of the one half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and its suburbs, Bileam and its suburbs; these in particular went to those who were remaining from the kindred of the sons of Kohath.

as well as Hukkok and its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs;

76 og af Nafthalis Stamme: Kedes i Galilæa og dens Marker og Ham mon og dens Marker og Kirjathaim og dens Marker.

moreover, from the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim and its suburbs.

77 De øvrige, Meraris Børn, gave de af Sebulons Stamme Rimono og dens Marker, Thabor og dens Marker.

Then to the remaining sons of Merari, from the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmono and its suburbs, and Tabor with its suburbs;

78 Og paa hin Side Jordanen ved Jeriko, Østen for Jordanen, gave de dem af Rubens Stamme: Bezer i Ørken og dens Marker og Jahza og dens Marker

and also, across the Jordan opposite Jericho, facing the east of the Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs;

then too, Heshbon with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.
