Matouš 26
1 Když Ježíš dokončil tento výklad, řekl svým učedníkům:
And it came to pass, when Jesus ended all these words, he said unto his disciples:
2 „Jak víte, za dva dny budou Velikonoce a já budu zrazen a ukřižován.“
Ye know that, after two days, the passover, taketh place, —and, the Son of Man, is to be delivered up, to be crucified.
3 V tu dobu se sešla židovská velerada v paláci nejvyššího kněze Kaifáše.
Then, were gathered together, the High-priests and the Elders of the people, into the court of the High-priest who was called Caiaphas;
4 Radili se, jak by se Ježíše nenápadně zmocnili a zprovodili ho ze světa.
and they took counsel together, in order that, Jesus, by guile, they might secure, and slay.
5 Dohodli se, že by to nemělo být o velikonočních svátcích, aby to nevzbudilo rozruch mezi shromážděnými poutníky.
They were saying, however: Not during the feast, lest, an uproar, arise among the people.
6 Mezitím byl Ježíš pozván v Betanii do domu Šimona, zvaného Malomocný.
But, Jesus, happening to be in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 Byli již u stolu, když k Ježíšovi přistoupila žena. Měla alabastrovou nádobku s drahocenným vonným olejem, a ten mu všechen vetřela do vlasů.
there came unto him a woman, holding an alabaster-jar of costly perfume, and she poured it down upon his head, as he was reclining.
8 Učedníci tím byli pohoršeni: „Takové plýtvání!
And the disciples, seeing it, were greatly displeased, saying—To what end, this loss?
9 To se dalo výhodně prodat a peníze mohli dostat chudí!“
For this could have been sold for much, and given to the destitute.
10 Ježíš to slyšel a řekl: „Proč jí to máte za zlé? Prokázala mi dobrou službu.
But Jesus, taking note, said unto them—Why vex ye the woman? for, a seemly work, hath she wrought for me;
11 Chudých bude mezi vámi vždy dost, ale já s vámi už dlouho nebudu.
For, always, the destitute, have ye with you, —but, me, not always, have ye;
12 Tato žena mne pomazala olejem, a tak vlastně připravila mé tělo k pohřbu.
For, she, pouring this perfume upon my body, so as to prepare me for burial, did it.
13 To, co učinila, neupadne v zapomenutí, ale spolu se zvěstí o mém díle záchrany to bude připomínáno.“
Verily, I say unto you—Wheresoever this glad-message shall be proclaimed in all the world, also what she did, will be told, as a memorial of her.
14 Jeden z dvanácti Ježíšových učedníků, Jidáš Iškariotský, odešel k velekněžím
Then, went one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, unto the High-priests,
15 a řekl jim: „Kolik mi zaplatíte, když zradím Ježíše, abyste ho nenápadně dostali do rukou?“A oni mu dali třicet stříbrňáků.
and said—What are ye willing to give unto me? and, I, unto you, will deliver him up. And they appointed him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Od té chvíle hledal Jidáš vhodnou příležitost, aby provedl svůj záměr.
And, from that time, was he seeking a favourable opportunity that he might, deliver him up.
17 První den Velikonoc se učedníci zeptali Ježíše: „Kde máme připravit velikonoční večeři?“
And, on the first of the days of unleavened bread, the disciples came unto Jesus, saying—Where wilt thou, that we make ready for thee to eat the passover?
18 Poslal je do města a k jednomu člověku se vzkazem: „Nastal můj čas, budu u tebe se svými učedníky jíst velikonočního beránka.“
And, he, said—Go your way into the city, unto such-a-one, and say to him, The teacher, saith, My season, is, near, with thee, will I keep the passover, with my disciples.
19 Učedníci se podle toho zařídili a připravili tam večeři.
And the disciples did, as Jesus directed them, and made ready the passover.
20 Když po setmění Ježíš večeřel s dvanácti učedníky, řekl: „Jeden z vás mne zradí.“
And, when, evening, came, he was reclining with the twelve [disciples];
and, as they were eating, he said—Verily, I say unto you, One from among you, will deliver me up.
22 To je velice zarmoutilo a jeden přes druhého se ptali: „To myslíš mne, Pane?“
And, being exceedingly grieved, they began to be saying to him, each one—Can it be, I, Lord?
23 On odpověděl: „Je to ten, kdo si bral z mísy současně se mnou.
And, he, answering, said—He who hath dipped with me his hand in the bowl, the same, will deliver me up.
24 Já musím jít cestou, která je mi určena, ale to nijak neospravedlňuje toho, kdo mne zrazuje. Lépe by mu bylo, kdyby se vůbec nenarodil.“
The Son of Man, indeed, goeth his way, according as it is written concerning him, —But alas! for that man, through whom the Son of Man, is being delivered up: Well, had it been for him, if, that man, had not been born!
25 Jidáš se ho zeptal: „Mistře, jsem to já?“On odpověděl: „Ano.“
And Judas, who was delivering him up, answering, said—Can it be, I, Rabbi? He saith unto him—Thou, hast said.
26 Když jedli, vzal Ježíš chléb, poděkoval Bohu, rozlamoval ho a podával učedníkům se slovy: „Vezměte a jezte, to je mé tělo.“
And, as they were eating, Jesus, taking a loaf and blessing, brake, —and, giving to his disciples, said—Take, eat! This, is, my body.
27 Potom vzal kalich s vínem, vzdal díky Bohu a podal jim ho se slovy: „Pijte z něho všichni,
And, taking a cup, and giving thanks, he gave unto them, saying—Drink of it, all of you;
28 to je má krev, prolitá, aby smyla hříchy mnohých. To je nová smlouva Boha s člověkem.
For, this, is my blood of the covenant, which, for many, is to be poured out, for remission of sins.
29 Já s vámi piji tento nápoj naposled. Příště budeme pít spolu nové víno až v království mého Otce.“
Moreover, I say unto you—In nowise, will I drink, henceforth, of this produce of the vine, until that day, whensoever I shall drink it with you, new, in the kingdom of my Father.
30 Potom zazpívali píseň a šli na Olivovou horu.
And, having sung praise, they went forth unto the Mount of Olives.
31 Tam Ježíš řekl: „Ještě této noci se stane něco, co vám vezme odvahu. Vždyť Písmo předpovídá: ‚Budu bít pastýře a jeho stádo se rozprchne.‘–
Then, Jesus saith unto them—All ye, will find cause of stumbling in me, during this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and, the sheep of the flock, will be scattered abroad;
32 Ale až povstanu k životu, sejdeme se spolu v Galileji.“
But, after my arising, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 Petr rozhorleně protestoval: „Kdyby tě všichni opustili, já tedy ne!“
Now Peter, answering, said unto him—Though, all, shall find cause of stumbling in thee, I, shall never find cause of stumbling.
34 Ale Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Říkám ti, že ještě této noci, dřív než zakokrhá kohout, mne třikrát zapřeš.“
Jesus saith unto him: Verily, I say unto thee—During this night, before a cock crow, Thrice, wilt thou deny me.
35 Petr zvolal: „To raději s tebou umřu, než bych tě zapřel!“A stejně mluvili i ostatní.
Peter saith unto him: Even though it be needful for me, with thee to die, in nowise, will I deny thee. Likewise, all the disciples also, said.
36 Potom přišli na místo zvané Getsemane a Ježíš řekl svým učedníkům: „Vy se tady posaďte a já se jdu modlit.“
Then Jesus cometh with them, into a place called Gethsemane, —and he saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray.
37 Vzal s sebou Petra, Jakuba a Jana. Padl na něho smutek a tíseň.
And, taking with him, Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be grieved and to be in great distress.
38 Řekl jim: „Sevřela mne smrtelná úzkost. Zůstaňte tu a buďte se mnou vzhůru.“
Then, saith he unto them: Encompassed with grief, is my soul, unto death: Abide ye here, and be watching with me.
39 Poodešel, padl tváří k zemi a modlil se: „Můj Otče! Jestli je to možné, zbav mne toho hrozného údělu! Ale nechci prosazovat svoji vůli. Chci, aby se stalo, co chceš ty.“
And, going forward a little, he fell upon his face, offering prayer, and saying—My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from me, —Nevertheless, not as, I, will, but as, thou, wilt.
40 Pak se vrátil k těm třem a oni spali.
And he cometh unto his disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and said unto Peter—Thus, powerless are ye, one hour, to watch with me?
41 „Petře, “budil ho, „to jste nemohli ani hodinu být se mnou vzhůru? Bděte a modlete se, abyste obstáli ve zkoušce. Máte dobrou vůli, ale slabé tělo.“
Be watching and praying, that ye may not enter into temptation: The spirit, indeed, is, eager, but, the flesh, weak.
42 Opět se vzdálil a modlil se: „Můj Otče! Není-li jiné východisko, ať se stane tvá vůle.“
Again, a second time, departing he prayed, saying: My Father! If it is impossible for this to pass, except I, drink, it, Accomplished, be, thy will.
43 Vrátil se zase ke svým učedníkům a oni opět spali. Byli velice unaveni.
And coming, he, again, found them sleeping, for their eyes had become heavy.
44 Nechal je spát, odešel potřetí a modlil se podobnými slovy.
And, leaving them, he, again, departed, and prayed a third time, the same word, saying again.
45 Pak se vrátil k učedníkům a řekl: „Teď už nepotřebuji, abyste se mnou bděli. Nastává chvíle, kdy budu zrazen a vydán do rukou podlých lidí.
Then, cometh he unto the disciples, and saith unto them, —Ye are sleeping what time remaineth, and taking your rest: Lo! the hour hath drawn near, and, the Son of Man, is being delivered up into the hands of sinners.
46 Vstaňte, půjdeme! Tam se blíží můj zrádce.“
Arise! let us be going, —Lo! he that delivereth me up, hath drawn near.
47 Ještě ani nedomluvil a už přicházel Jidáš. S ním táhl oddíl ozbrojený meči a holemi, poslaný veleradou.
And, while, yet, he was speaking, lo! Judas, one of the twelve, came, and, with him, a large multitude, with swords and clubs, from the High-priests and Elders of the people.
48 Měli s Jidášem domluvené znamení: Chopí se toho, koho Jidáš políbí.
And, he who was delivering him up, gave them a sign, saying—Whomsoever I shall kiss, he, it is, —secure him.
49 A tak přistoupil Jidáš k Ježíšovi: „Buď zdráv, Mistře!“řekl a políbil ho.
And, straightway, coming unto Jesus, he said—Joy to thee! Rabbi, and eagerly kissed him.
50 Ježíš mu řekl: „Příteli, co to děláš?“Tu se však Ježíše chopili a zajali ho.
But, Jesus, said unto him—Friend! wherefore art thou here? Then, coming forward, they thrust their hands upon Jesus, and secured him.
51 Jeden z těch, kteří byli s Ježíšem, vytasil meč, ťal po veleknězovu služebníkovi a usekl mu ucho.
And lo! one of those with Jesus, stretching forth his hand, grasped his sword, and smiting the servant of the High-priest, cut off his ear.
52 Ježíš řekl svému obránci: „Schovej svůj meč! Kdo čím zachází, tím také schází.
Then, Jesus saith unto him—Put back thy sword into its place, for, all they who take a sword, by a sword, shall perish.
53 Cožpak nevíš, že kdybych poprosil svého Otce o ochranu, okamžitě by mi poslal celé nebeské vojsko?
Or thinkest thou that I cannot call upon my Father, and he will set near me, even now, more than twelve legions of messengers?
54 Ale jak by se pak splnil Boží plán spásy?“
How then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that, thus, it must needs come to pass?
55 Pak se obrátil k ozbrojencům: „Přitáhli jste na mne jako na rebela. Proč jste mě nezatkli už v chrámu, kde jsem vám denně kázal? Já vím proč!
In that hour, said Jesus unto the multitudes: As against a robber, came ye forth, with swords and clubs, to arrest me? Daily in the temple, used I to sit teaching, and ye secured me not;
56 Plníte tak přesně prorocké předpovědi.“V té chvíli ho všichni jeho učedníci opustili a rozutekli se.
But, this, hath, wholly, come to pass, that, the Scriptures of the prophets, may be fulfilled. Then, the disciples, all forsaking him, fled.
57 Zatčeného Ježíše pak odvedli k nejvyššímu knězi Kaifášovi, kde se sešla velerada.
And, they who secured Jesus, led him away unto Caiaphas the High-priest, where the Scribes and the Elders gathered themselves together.
58 Petr je z povzdálí následoval až k veleknězovu paláci. Vešel na nádvoří a vmísil se mezi služebnictvo, aby věděl, jak to dopadne.
Now, Peter, was following him afar off, unto the court of the High-priest, —and, entering within, was sitting with the attendants, to see the end.
59 Velekněží i celá rada se snažili pomocí křivého svědectví Ježíše obvinit tak, aby ho mohli odsoudit k smrti.
Now, the High-priests and all the High-council, were seeking false-witness against Jesus, that they might, put him to death;
60 Ale i když sehnali mnoho falešných svědků, přece se nepodařilo najít vhodnou obžalobu. Nakonec vystoupili dva
and found not any, though many came forward as false-witnesses. At length, however, there came forward, two,
61 a shodně vypovídali: „Tento muž řekl, že má moc zničit chrám a ve třech dnech ho znovu vystavět.“
and said: This, man said—I am able to pull down the shrine of God, and, in three days, to, build, it.
62 Nato vstal nejvyšší velekněz a řekl Ježíšovi: „Jak se obhájíš proti této obžalobě?“
And the High-priest, arising, said unto him—Nothing, answerest thou? What are these, against thee bearing witness?
63 Ale Ježíš mlčel. Tu sáhl velekněz k poslednímu prostředku: „Beru tě pod přísahu při živém Bohu: Jsi ten zaslíbený Mesiáš, Boží Syn?“
But, Jesus, was silent. And, the High-priest, said unto him: I put thee on oath, by the Living God, that, to us, thou say—Whether, thou, art the Christ, the Son of God.
64 Ježíš odpověděl: „Ty sám jsi to řekl. Ale ujišťuji vás, že brzy budete svědky toho, že mne Bůh vyzdvihne, abych seděl po jeho pravici, odkud se vrátím ve svém majestátu.“
Jesus saith unto him: Thou, hast said; Moreover, I say unto you—Hereafter, ye will see the Son of Man, sitting on the right hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.
65 Velekněz si na znamení největšího pohoršení roztrhl své roucho a prohlásil: „To je rouhání! Cožpak potřebujeme ještě svědky? Teď jste to slyšeli na vlastní uši! Jaký vynesete rozsudek?“
Then, the High-priest rent asunder his garments, saying—He hath spoken profanely! What further need have we, of witnesses? Lo! now, ye have heard the profanity!
How, to you, doth it seem? And, they, answering, said: Guilty of death, he is.
67 Odpověděli: „Zaslouží si smrt!“Pak mu někteří plivali do obličeje, bili ho po hlavě a tloukli holí s výsměchem: „Když jsi Mesiáš, hádej, kdo ti teď dal ránu!“
Then, spat they into his face, and buffeted him; and, others, struck him smartly,
saying—Prophesy unto us, O Christ! Who is he that struck thee?
69 Petr zatím seděl venku na nádvoří. Tu si ho všimla jedna služka: „Ty jsi také byl s tím Ježíšem z Galileje!“
Now, Peter, was sitting without, in the court; and there came unto him a certain female servant, saying—Thou also, wast with Jesus, the Galilaean.
70 Ale Petr přede všemi popřel: „Ani nevím, o čem mluvíš!“
But, he, denied before all, saying—I know not what thou sayest.
71 Pak si to namířil k bráně, kde ho uviděla jiná a upozornila okolostojící: „Tento člověk chodil s Ježíšem z Nazaretu.“
And, when he went out into the porch, another female saw him, and said unto them who were there—This, one was with Jesus the Nazarene.
72 Petr se však zapřísahal a řekl: „Vůbec toho člověka neznám.“
And, again, he denied, with an oath—I know not the man.
73 Oni se však kolem něj shlukli a doráželi: „Určitě k němu patříš! Je to znát na tvém nářečí!“
And, after a little, the by-standers, coming forward, said unto Peter: Truly, thou also, art, from among them, for, thy very speech, maketh thee, manifest.
74 Petr se dušoval a přísahal, že Ježíše opravdu nezná. V tom okamžiku se ozval kohout
Then, began he to be cursing and swearing—I know not the man! And, straightway, a cock crowed.
75 a Petr si vzpomněl na Ježíšova slova: „Dříve než zakokrhá kohout, třikrát mne zapřeš.“Vyběhl ven a hořce se rozplakal.
And Peter was put in mind of the declaration of Jesus, of his having said—Before a cock crow, thrice, wilt thou utterly deny me; and, going forth outside, he wept bitterly.
