Žalmy 97

1 Hospodin kraluje, plésej země, a vesel se ostrovů všecko množství.

This is to David, when his land was restored to him. The Lord has reigned, let the earth exult. Let the many islands rejoice.

2 Oblak a mrákota jest vůkol něho, spravedlnost a soud základ trůnu jeho.

Clouds and mist are all around him. Justice and judgment are corrections from his throne.

3 Oheň předchází jej, a zapaluje vůkol nepřátely jeho.

A fire will precede him, and it will enflame his enemies all around.

4 Zasvěcujíť se po okršlku světa blýskání jeho; to viduc země, děsí se.

His lightnings have enlightened the whole world. The earth saw, and it was shaken.

5 Hory jako vosk rozplývají se před oblíčejem Hospodina, před oblíčejem Panovníka vší země.

The mountains flowed like wax before the face of the Lord, before the face of the Lord of all the earth.

6 Nebesa vypravují o jeho spravedlnosti, a slávu jeho spatřují všickni národové.

The heavens announced his justice, and all peoples saw his glory.

7 Zastyďte se všickni, kteříž sloužíte rytinám, kteříž se chlubíte modlami; sklánějte se před ním všickni bohové.

May all those who adore graven images be confounded, along with those who glory in their false images. All you his Angels: Adore him.

8 To uslyše Sion, rozveselí se, a zpléší dcery Judské z příčiny soudů tvých, Hospodine.

Zion heard, and was glad. And the daughters of Judah exulted because of your judgments, O Lord.

9 Nebo ty, Hospodine, jsi nejvyšší na vší zemi, a velice jsi vyvýšený nade všecky bohy.

For you are the Most High Lord over all the earth. You are greatly exalted above all gods.

10 Vy, kteříž milujete Hospodina, mějte v nenávisti to, což zlého jest; onť ostříhá duší svatých svých, a z ruky bezbožníků je vytrhuje.

You who love the Lord: hate evil. The Lord watches over the souls of his holy ones. He will free them from the hand of the sinner.

11 Světlo vsáto jest spravedlivým, a radost těm, kteříž jsou upřímého srdce.

The light has risen for the just, and joy for the upright of heart.

12 Veselte se, spravedliví v Hospodinu, a oslavujte památku svatosti jeho.

Rejoice in the Lord, you just ones, and confess to the memory of his sanctuary.
