Žalmy 9
1 Přednímu zpěváku na al mutlabben, žalm Davidův. Oslavovati tě budu, Hospodine, celým srdcem svým, vypravovati budu všecky divné skutky tvé.
I will give thanks to Jehovah with my whole heart. I will show forth all thy marvelous works.
2 Radovati a veseliti se budu v tobě, žalmy zpívati budu jménu tvému, ó Nejvyšší,
I will be glad and exult in thee. I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High.
3 Proto že nepřátelé moji jsou nazpět obráceni, že klesli, a zahynuli od tváři tvé.
When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish at thy presence.
4 Nebo jsi vyvedl soud můj a při mou, posadils se na stolici soudce spravedlivý.
For thou have maintained my right and my cause. Thou sit in the throne judging righteously.
5 Ohromil jsi národy, zatratils bezbožníka, jméno jejich vyhladil jsi na věčné věky.
Thou have rebuked the nations. Thou have destroyed the wicked. Thou have blotted out their name forever and ever.
6 Ó nepříteli, již-li jsou dokonány zhouby tvé na věky? Již-li jsi města podvrátil? Zahynula památka jejich s nimi.
The enemy have come to an end. They are desolate forever, and the cities which thou have overthrown. The very memory of them is perished,
7 Ale Hospodin na věky kraluje, připravil k soudu trůn svůj.
but Jehovah will endure forever. He has prepared his throne for judgment,
8 Onť soudí sám okršlek v spravedlnosti, a výpověd činí národům v pravosti.
and he will judge the world in righteousness. He will minister justice to the peoples in uprightness.
9 Hospodin zajisté jest útočiště chudého, útočiště v čas ssoužení.
Jehovah will also be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble.
10 I budou v tebe doufati, kteříž znají jméno tvé; nebo neopouštíš hledajících tě, Hospodine.
And those who know thy name will put their trust in thee, for thou, Jehovah, have not forsaken those who seek thee.
11 Žalmy zpívejte Hospodinu, přebývajícímu na Sionu, zvěstujte mezi národy skutky jeho.
Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwells in Zion. Declare among the people his doings.
12 Nebo on vyhledává krve, rozpomíná se na ni, aniž se zapomíná na křik utištěných.
For he who makes inquiry for blood remembers them. He does not forget the cry of the poor.
13 Smiluj se nade mnou, Hospodine, viz ssoužení mé od těch, kteříž mne nenávidí, ty, kterýž mne vyzdvihuješ z bran smrti,
Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah. Behold my affliction from those who hate me, thou who lifts me up from the gates of death
14 Abych vypravoval všecky chvály tvé v branách dcery Sionské, a veselil se v spasení tvém.
that I may show forth all thy praise. In the gates of the daughter of Zion I will rejoice in thy salvation.
15 Pohříženiť jsou národové v jámě, kterouž udělali; v osídle, kteréž polékli, uvázla noha jejich.
The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made. In the net which they hid, their own foot is taken.
16 Přišelť jest v známost Hospodin, pomstu učiniv; v díle rukou svých zapletl se bezbožník. Higgaion (Sélah)
Jehovah has made himself known. He has executed justice. The wicked man is snared in the work of his own hands. (Higgaion, Selah)
17 Obráceni buďte bezbožníci do pekla, všickni národové, kteříž se zapomínají nad Bohem. (Sheol h7585)
Wicked men shall be turned back to Sheol, even all the nations that forget God. (Sheol h7585)
18 Neboť nebude dán chudý u věčné zapomenutí; očekávání ssoužených nezahyneť na věky.
For a needy man shall not always be forgotten, nor the expectation of the poor perish forever.
19 Povstaniž, Hospodine, ať se nesilí člověk; národové buďte souzeni před tebou.
Arise, O Jehovah, let not man prevail. Let the nations be judged in thy sight.
20 Pusť na ně strach, ó Hospodine, ať tomu porozumějí národové, že smrtelní jsou. (Sélah)
Put them in fear, O Jehovah. Let the nations know themselves to be but men. (Selah)
