Žalmy 89
1 Vyučující, složený od Etana Ezrachitského. O milosrdenstvích Hospodinových na věky zpívati budu, od národu do pronárodu zvěstovati budu pravdu tvou ústy svými.
[A Psalm] of instruction for Aetham the Israelite. I will sing of thy mercies, O Lord, for ever: I will declare thy truth with my mouth to all generations.
2 Nebo jsem řekl: Na věky milosrdenství vzdělávati se bude, na nebi utvrdíš pravdu svou, o nížs řekl:
For thou hast said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy truth shall be established in the heavens.
3 Učinil jsem smlouvu s vyvoleným svým, přisáhl jsem Davidovi služebníku svému,
I made a covenant with my chosen ones, I sware unto David my servant.
4 Že až na věky utvrdím símě tvé, a vzdělám od národu do národu trůn tvůj. (Sélah)
I will establish thy seed for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. (Pause)
5 Protož oslavují nebesa div tvůj, Hospodine, i pravdu tvou v shromáždění svatých.
The heavens shall declare thy wonders, O Lord; and thy truth in the assembly of the saints.
6 Nebo kdo na nebi přirovnán býti může Hospodinu? Kdo jest podobný Hospodinu mezi syny silných?
For who in the heavens shall be compared to the Lord? and who shall be likened to the Lord among the sons of God?
7 Bůh i v shromáždění svatých strašlivý jest náramně, a hrozný nade všecky vůkol něho.
God is glorified in the council of the saints; great and terrible toward all that are round about him.
8 Hospodine Bože zástupů, kdo jest jako ty, silný Hospodin? Nebo pravda tvá tobě přístojí všudy vůkol.
O Lord God of hosts, who is like to thee? thou art mighty, O Lord, and thy truth is round about thee.
9 Ty panuješ nad dutím moře; když se zdvihají vlny jeho, ty je skrocuješ.
Thou rulest the power of the sea; and thou calmest the tumult of its waves.
10 Ty jsi jako raněného potřel Egypt, a silným ramenem svým rozptýlil jsi nepřátely své.
Thou has brought down the proud as one that is slain; and with the arm of thy power thou has scattered thine enemies.
11 Tváť jsou nebesa, tvá také i země, okršlek i plnost jeho ty jsi založil.
The heavens are thine, and the earth is thine: thou hast founded the world, and the fullness of it.
12 Půlnoční i polední strana, kteréž jsi ty stvořil, i Tábor a Hermon o tvém jménu zpívají.
Thou hast created the north and the west: Thabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
13 Tvé rámě jest přemocné, silná ruka tvá, a vyvýšená pravice tvá.
Thine is the mighty arm: let thy hand be strengthened, let thy right hand be exalted.
14 Spravedlnost a soud jsou základem trůnu tvého, milosrdenství a pravda předcházejí tvář tvou.
Justice and judgment are the establishment of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
15 Blahoslavený lid, kterýž zná zvuk tvůj; tiť, Hospodine, v světle oblíčeje tvého choditi budou.
Blessed is the people that knows the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.
16 Ve jménu tvém plésati budou každého dne, a v spravedlnosti tvé vyvýší se.
And in thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17 Nebo sláva síly jejich ty jsi, a z milosti tvé k zvýšení přijde roh náš.
For thou art the boast of their strength; and in thy good pleasure shall our horn be exalted,
18 Nebo štít náš jest Hospodinův, a svatého Izraelského král náš.
for [our] help is of the Lord; and of the Holy One of Israel, our king.
19 Tehdy mluvě u vidění k svatému svému, řekl jsi: Složil jsem pomoc v reku udatném, zvýšil jsem vybraného z lidu.
Then thou spokest in vision to thy children, and saidst, I have laid help on a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen out of my people.
20 Nalezl jsem Davida služebníka svého, olejem svým svatým pomazal jsem ho.
I have found David my servant; I have anointed him by [my] holy mercy.
21 A protož budeť s ním stále ruka má, ano i ramenem svým posilovati ho budu.
For my hand shall support him; and mine arm shall strengthen him.
22 Nebudeť ho moci nuziti nepřítel, ani člověk nešlechetný trápiti.
The enemy shall have no advantage against him; and the son of transgression shall not hurt him again.
23 Nebo potru před tváří jeho protivníky jeho, a ty, kteříž ho nenávidí, porazím.
And I will hew down his foes before him, and put to flight those that hate him.
24 Nadto pravda má a milosrdenství mé s ním bude, a ve jménu mém vyvýšen bude roh jeho.
But my truth and my mercy shall be with him; and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 A vložím na moře ruku jeho, a na řeky pravici jeho.
And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26 On volaje ke mně, dí: Ty jsi otec můj, Bůh silný můj a skála spasení mého.
He shall call upon me, [saying], Thou art my Father, my God, and the helper of my salvation.
27 Já také za prvorozeného vystavím jej, a za vyššího králů zemských.
And I will make him [my] first-born, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 Na věky zachovám jemu milosrdenství své, a smlouva s ním stálá bude.
I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant [shall be] firm with him.
29 Učiním i to, aby na věky trvalo símě jeho, a trůn jeho jako dnové nebes.
And I will establish his seed for ever and ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 Jestliže by pak synové jeho opustili zákon můj, a v soudech mých nechodili,
If his children should forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
31 Jestliže by ustanovení mých poškvrnili, a přikázaní mých neostříhali:
if they should profane my ordinances, and not keep my commandments;
32 Tedy navštívím metlou přestoupení jejich, a trestáním nepravost jejich,
I will visit their transgressions with a rod, and their sins with scourges.
33 Ale milosrdenství svého neodejmu od něho, aniž klamati budu proti pravdě své.
But my mercy I will not utterly remove from him, nor wrong my truth.
34 Nepoškvrnímť smlouvy své, a toho, což vyšlo z úst mých, nezměním.
Neither will I by any means profane my covenant; and I will not make void the things that proceed out of my lips.
35 Jednou jsem přisáhl skrze svatost svou, nesklamámť Davidovi,
Once have I sworn by my holiness, that I will not lie to David.
36 Že símě jeho na věky bude, a trůn jeho jako slunce přede mnou,
His see shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me;
37 Jako měsíc utvrzeno bude na věky, a jako svědkové na obloze hodnověrní.
and as the moon [that is] established for ever, and as the faithful witness in heaven. (Pause)
38 Ale ty jsi jej zavrhl a potupil, rozhněvals se na pomazaného svého.
But thou hast cast off and set at nought, thou has rejected thine anointed.
39 Zavrhl jsi smlouvu s služebníkem svým, povrhls korunu jeho na zem.
Thou hast overthrown the covenant of thy servant; thou has profaned his sanctuary, [casting it] to the ground.
40 Roztrhal jsi všecky ohrady jeho, a bašty jeho jsi rozválel.
Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast made his strong holds a terror.
41 Derou jej všickni, kteříž tudy jdou; jest ku posměchu i sousedům svým.
All that go by the way have spoiled him: he is become a reproach to his neighbours.
42 Vyvýšil jsi pravici protivníků jeho, obveselils všecky nepřátely jeho.
Thou hast exalted the right hand of his enemies; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Ztupils i ostří meče jeho, aniž jsi dal jemu, aby ostáti mohl v boji.
Thou hast turned back the help of his sword, and hast not helped him in the battle.
44 Učinils přítrž okrase jeho, a trůn jeho svrhl jsi na zem.
Thou hast deprived him of glory: thou hast broken down his throne to the ground.
45 Ukrátil jsi dnů mladosti jeho, a hanbous jej přiodíl. (Sélah)
Thou hast shortened the days of his throne: thou hast poured shame upon him. (Pause)
46 Až dokud, Hospodine? Na věky-liž se skrývati budeš? Tak-liž hořeti bude jako oheň prchlivost tvá?
How long, O Lord, wilt thou turn away, for ever? shall thine anger flame out as fire?
47 Rozpomeniž se na mne, jak kratičký jest věk můj. Zdaliž jsi pak nadarmo stvořil všecky syny lidské?
Remember what my being is: for hast thou created all the sons of men in vain?
48 Kdo z lidí může tak živ býti, aby neokusil smrti? Kdo vytrhne život svůj z hrobu? (Sélah) (Sheol h7585)
What man is there who shall live, and not see death? shall [any one] deliver his soul from the hand of Hades? (Pause) (Sheol h7585)
49 Kdež jsou milosrdenství tvá první, ó Pane? Přísahuť jsi učinil Davidovi, v pravdě své.
Where are thine ancient mercies, O Lord, which thou swarest to David in thy truth?
50 Pamatuj, Pane, na útržky činěné služebníkům tvým, a jak jsem já nosil v lůně svém potupu ode všech nejmocnějších národů,
Remember, O Lord, the reproach of thy servants, which I have borne in my bosom, [even the reproach] of many nations;
51 Jak jsou utrhali nepřátelé tvoji, Hospodine, jak jsou utrhali šlepějím pomazaného tvého.
wherewith thine enemies have reviled, O Lord: wherewith they have reviled the recompense of thine anointed.
52 Budiž pochválen Hospodin na věky, Amen i Amen.
Blessed be the Lord for ever. So be it, so be it.
