1 Píseň a žalm Azafův. Bože, neodmlčujž se, nečiň se neslyše, aniž se upokojuj, ó Bože silný.
Keep not you silence, O God: hold not your peace, and be not still, O God.
2 Nebo aj, nepřátelé tvoji se bouří, a ti, kteříž tě v nenávisti mají, pozdvihují hlavy.
For, see, your enemies make a tumult: and they that hate you have lifted up the head.
3 Chytře tajné rady proti lidu tvému skládají, a radí se proti těm, kteréž ty skrýváš,
They have taken crafty counsel against your people, and consulted against your hidden ones.
4 Říkajíce: Poďte, a vyhlaďme je, ať nejsou národem, tak aby ani zpomínáno nebylo více jména Izraelova.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 Jednomyslněť se na tom spolu snesli, i smlouvou se proti tobě zavázali,
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against you:
6 Stánkové Idumejští a Izmaelitští, Moábští a Agarenští,
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 Gebálští a Ammonitští, a Amalechitští, Filistinští s obyvateli Tyrskými.
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Ano i Assyrští spojili se s nimi, jsouce na ruku synům Lotovým. (Sélah)
Assur also is joined with them: they have helped the children of Lot. (Selah)
9 Učiniž jim jako Madianským, jako Zizarovi, a jako Jabínovi při potoku Císon,
Do to them as to the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10 Kteříž jsou do konce vyhlazeni v Endor, a učiněni hnůj země.
Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11 Nalož s nimi a s vůdci jejich jako s Gorébem, jako s Zébem, jako s Zebahem, a jako s Salmunou, se všemi knížaty jejich.
Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yes, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12 Neboť jsou řekli: Uvažme se dědičně v příbytky Boží.
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13 Můj Bože, učiň to, ať jsou jako chumelice, a jako stéblo před větrem.
O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14 Jakož oheň spaluje les, a jako plamen zapaluje hory,
As the fire burns a wood, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire;
15 Tak ty je vichřicí svou stihej, a bouří svou ohrom je.
So persecute them with your tempest, and make them afraid with your storm.
16 Naplň tváře jejich zahanbením, tak aby hledali jména tvého, Hospodine.
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek your name, O LORD.
17 Nechať se hanbí a děsí na věčné časy, a ať potupu nesou a zahynou.
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yes, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18 A tak ať poznají, že ty, kterýž sám jméno máš Hospodin, jsi nejvyšší nade vší zemí.
That men may know that you, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, are the most high over all the earth.
