Žalmy 63
1 Žalm Davidův, když byl na poušti Judské. Bože, Bůh silný můj ty jsi, tebeť hned v jitře hledám, tebe žízní duše má, po tobě touží tělo mé, v zemi žíznivé a vyprahlé, v níž není vody,
A Psalme of David. When he was in the wildernesse of Judah. O God, thou art my God, earely will I seeke thee: my soule thirsteth for thee: my flesh longeth greatly after thee in a barren and drye land without water.
2 Abych tě v svatyni tvé spatřoval, a viděl sílu tvou a slávu tvou,
Thus I beholde thee as in the Sanctuarie, when I beholde thy power and thy glorie.
3 (Neboť jest lepší milosrdenství tvé, nežli život), aby tě chválili rtové moji,
For thy louing kindnesse is better then life: therefore my lippes shall prayse thee.
4 A tak abych tobě dobrořečil, pokudž jsem živ, a ve jménu tvém pozdvihoval rukou svých.
Thus will I magnifie thee all my life, and lift vp mine hands in thy name.
5 Jako tukem a sádlem sytila by se tu duše má, a s radostným rtů prozpěvováním chválila by tě ústa má.
My soule shalbe satisfied, as with marowe and fatnesse, and my mouth shall praise thee with ioyfull lippes,
6 Jistě žeť na tě pamětliv jsem i na ložci svém, každého bdění nočního přemýšlím o tobě.
When I remember thee on my bedde, and when I thinke vpon thee in the night watches.
7 Nebo jsi mi býval ku pomoci, protož v stínu křídel tvých prozpěvovati budu.
Because thou hast bene mine helper, therefore vnder the shadow of thy wings wil I reioyce.
8 Přilnula duše má k tobě, pravice tvá zdržuje mne.
My soule cleaueth vnto thee: for thy right hand vpholdeth me.
9 Pročež ti, kteříž hledají pádu duše mé, sami vejdou do největší hlubokosti země.
Therefore they that seeke my soule to destroy it, they shall goe into the lowest partes of the earth.
10 Zabijí každého z nich ostrostí meče, i budou liškám za podíl.
They shall cast him downe with the edge of the sword, and they shall be a portion for foxes.
11 Král pak veseliti se bude v Bohu, i každý, kdož skrze něho přisahá, chlubiti se bude; nebo ústa mluvících lež zacpána budou.
But the King shall reioyce in God, and all that sweare by him shall reioyce in him: for the mouth of them that speake lyes, shall be stopped.
