Žalmy 4
1 Přednímu zpěváku na neginot, žalm Davidův. Když volám, vyslyš mne, Bože spravedlnosti mé. Ty jsi mi v úzkosti prostranství způsoboval, smiluj se nade mnou, a vyslyš modlitbu mou.
“To the chief musician on Neginoth, a psalm of David.” When I call, answer me, O God of my righteousness: amidst distress thou hast [ever] granted me enlargement; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.
2 Synové lidští, dokudž sláva má v potupě bude? Dlouho-liž marnost milovati a lži hledati budete? (Sélah)
O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame? [how long] will ye love vanity, will ye seek for lies? (Selah)
3 Vězte, žeť jest oddělil Hospodin sobě milého. Vyslyšíť mne Hospodin, když k němu volati budu.
But know that the Lord hath set apart the pious for himself: the Lord will hear when I call on him.
4 Uleknětež se a nehřešte, přemyšlujte o tom v srdci svém, na ložci svém, a umlkněte. (Sélah)
Tremble, and sin not: commune with your heart upon your bed, and be still (Selah)
5 Obětujte oběti spravedlnosti, a doufejte v Hospodina.
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
6 Mnozí říkají: Ó bychom viděti mohli dobré věci. Hospodine, pozdvihni nad námi jasného oblíčeje svého,
Many say, “Who will show us happiness? Let shine brightly over us the light of thy countenance, O Lord.”
7 I způsobíš radost v srdci mém větší, než oni mívají, když obilé a víno jejich se obrodí.
[But] thou hast placed more joy in my heart than at the time when their corn and their wine were increased.
8 Jáť u pokoji i lehnu i spáti budu; nebo ty, Hospodine, sám způsobíš mi bydlení bezpečné.
In peace, altogether, will I lay me down and sleep; for thou, Lord, alone, causest me to dwell in safety.
