Židům 3
1 A protož, bratří svatí, povolání nebeského účastníci, spatřujte apoštola a nejvyššího kněze vyznání našeho, Krista Ježíše,
Whence, holy brethren, partners, in a heavenly calling, attentively consider the Apostle and High—priest of our confession—Jesus
2 Věrného tomu, kdož jej ustanovil, jako i Mojžíš byl věrný ve všem domě jeho.
As one, faithful, to him who made him: as, Moses also, in [all] his house.
3 Tím větší zajisté slávy tento nad Mojžíše jest hoden, čím větší má čest stavitel nežli sám dům.
For, of more glory than Moses, hath, this one been counted worthy—by as much as more honour than, the house, hath, he that prepared it;
4 Nebo všeliký dům ustaven bývá od někoho, ten pak, kdož všecky tyto věci ustavěl, Bůh jest.
For, every house, is prepared by someone, —but, he that hath prepared all things, is, God.
5 A Mojžíš zajisté věrný byl v celém domě jeho, jako služebník, na osvědčení toho, což potom mělo mluveno býti.
Even Moses, indeed, was faithful in all his house, as an attendant, for a witness of the things which were to be spoken;
6 Ale Kristus, jakožto Syn, vládne nad domem svým. Kterýžto dům my jsme, jestliže tu svobodnou doufanlivost, a tu chloubu naděje až do konce pevnou zachováme.
But, Christ, as, a Son, over his house, —whose house are, we, —if, the freedom of speech and boast of the hope, [throughout, firm, ] we hold fast.
7 Protož jakž praví Duch svatý: Dnes, uslyšeli-li byste hlas jeho,
Wherefore, —according as saith the Holy Spirit—To-day, if, unto his voice ye would hearken, do not
8 Nezatvrzujtež srdcí svých, jako při onom popouzení Boha v den pokušení toho na poušti;
harden your hearts, —as in the embitterment, in the day of testing in the desert,
9 Kdežto pokoušeli mne otcové vaši, zkusiliť jsou mne, a viděli skutky mé po čtyřidceti let.
When your fathers tested by proving, and saw my works forty years.
10 Protož hněviv jsem byl na pokolení to, a řekl jsem: Tito vždycky bloudí srdcem, a nepoznávají cest mých.
Wherefore I was sore vexed with this generation, and said, Always err they in their heart; —howbeit, they, learned not my ways:
11 Takže jsem přisáhl v hněvě svém, že nevejdou v odpočinutí mé.
So I sware in mine anger—they shall not enter into my rest!—
12 Viztež, bratří, aby snad v někom z vás nebylo srdce zlé, a nevěrné, kteréž by odstupovalo od Boha živého.
Be taking heed, brethren, lest at any time, there shall be in any one of you, a wicked heart of unbelief, in revolting from a Living God.
13 Ale napomínejte se vespolek po všecky dny, dokavadž se dnes jmenuje, aby někdo nebyl zatvrzen oklamáním hřícha.
But be exhorting one another, on each successive day, —while the To-day is being named! lest any from among you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
14 Účastníci zajisté Krista učiněni jsme, jestliže však ten počátek podstaty až do konce pevný zachováme.
For, partners of the Christ, have we become, —if, at least, the beginning of the confidence, throughout, firm, we hold fast:
15 Protož dokudž se říká: Dnes, uslyšeli-li byste hlas jeho, nezatvrzujte srdcí svých, jako při onom popouzení Boha.
So long as it is said—To-day, if, unto his voice, ye would hearken, do not harden your hearts, —as in the embitterment.
16 Nebo někteří slyševše, popouzeli ho, ale ne všickni, jenž vyšli z Egypta skrze Mojžíše.
For, who, though they heard, caused embitterment? Nay, indeed! did not all who come forth out of Egypt through Moses?
17 Na které se pak hněval čtyřidceti let? Zdali ne na ty, kteříž hřešili, jejichžto těla padla na poušti?
But, with whom, was be sore vexed forty years? Was it not with them who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the desert?
18 A kterým zapřisáhl, že nevejdou do odpočinutí jeho? Však těm, kteříž byli neposlušní.
But, unto whom, sware he, that they should not enter into his rest, —save unto them who were obstinate?
19 A vidíme, že jsou nemohli vjíti pro nevěru.
And we see, that they were not able to enter, because of unbelief.
