1 Tito jsou pak rodové Ezau, kterýž měl přijmí Edom.
(Here is/I will now give you) a list of the descendants of Esau, whose other name was Edom.
2 Ezau pojal sobě ženy ze dcer Kananejských, Adu, dceru Elona Hetejského, a Olibamu, dceru Anovu, dceru Sebeona Hevejského,
Esau married three women from the Canaan region: Adah, the daughter of Elon from the Heth people-group; Oholibamah, who was the daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon from the Hiv people-group;
3 A Bazematu, dceru Izmaelovu, sestru Nabajotovu.
and Basemath, who was the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
4 I porodila Ada Ezauchovi Elifaza, a Bazemat porodila Rahuele.
Esau’s wife Adah gave birth to Eliphaz. Basemath gave birth to Reuel.
5 Olibama pak porodila Jehusa, a Jheloma, a Koré. Ti jsou synové Ezau, kteříž se mu zrodili v zemi Kananejské.
Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. All these sons of Esau were born while he was living in the Canaan region.
6 I pobral Ezau ženy své, i syny své, a dcery své, a všecku čeleď svou, i dobytek svůj, a všecka hovada svá, i všecko jmění své, kteréhož nabyl v zemi Kananejské, a odebral se do země Seir, před příchodem Jákoba bratra svého.
Jacob and Esau had very many possessions. The result was that they needed more land for their livestock. The land where they were living was not big enough for both of them. They had too much livestock. So Esau, whose other name was Edom, had taken his wives and sons and daughters and all the other members of his household, his sheep and goats and his other animals, and all the other things he had obtained in Canaan land, and they had moved to an area that was away from Jacob.
7 Nebo zboží jejich bylo tak veliké, že nemohli bydliti spolu; aniž ta země, v níž oni pohostinu byli, mohla jich snésti, pro dobytky jejich.
8 Protož bydlil Ezau na hoře Seir; Ezau pak ten jest Edom.
They went to live in the Seir hilly area.
9 A tak tito jsou rodové Ezau, otce Idumejských, na hoře Seir.
(Here is/I will now give you) another list of the male descendants of Esau. He was the ancestor of the Edom people-group who live in the Seir area.
10 Tato byla jména synů Ezau: Elifaz, syn Ady, ženy Ezau; Rahuel, syn Bazematy, ženy Ezau.
Esau’s wife Adah gave birth to Eliphaz, and Esau’s wife Basemath gave birth to Reuel.
11 Synové pak Elifazovi byli: Teman, Omar, Sefo, a Gatam a Kenaz.
The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Tamna pak byla ženina Elifaza, syna Ezau. Ta porodila Elifazovi Amalecha. Ti jsou synové Ady, ženy Ezau.
Esau’s son Eliphaz also had a (concubine/female slave whom he took as a secondary wife). Her name was Timna. She gave birth to Amalek. Those six men were grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.
13 Synové pak Rahuelovi tito: Nahat, Zára, Samma a Méza. To byli synové Bazematy, ženy Ezau.
Reuel’s sons were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. They were grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.
14 A tito byli synové Olibamy, dcery Anovy, dcery Sebeonovy, ženy Ezau, kteráž porodila Ezauchovi Jehusa, Jheloma a Koré.
Esau’s wife Oholibamah, who was the daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, gave birth to three sons: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
15 Tito všickni byli knížata synů Ezau. Synové Elifaza prvorozeného Ezau: Kníže Teman, kníže Omar, kníže Sefo, kníže Kenaz,
(Here is/I will now give you) a list of the people-groups who were descendants of Esau. His oldest son Eliphaz was the ancestor of the Teman people-group, the Omar people-group, the Zepho people-group, the Kenaz people-group,
16 Kníže Koré, kníže Gatam, kníže Amalech. Ta jsou knížata pošlá z Elifaza v zemi Idumejské; ti jsou synové Ady.
the Korah people-group, the Gatam people-group, and the Amalek people-group. They were descendants of Eliphaz and of Esau’s wife Adah. They lived in the Edom region.
17 Tito pak jsou synové Rahuele, syna Ezau: Kníže Nahat, kníže Zára, kníže Samma, kníže Méza. Ta knížata pošla z Rahuele, v zemi Idumejské; to jsou synové Bazematy, ženy Ezau.
The sons of Esau’s son Reuel were ancestors of the Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah people-groups. They were descended from Esau’s wife Basemath. They also lived in Edom.
18 A synové Olibamy, ženy Ezau, tito jsou: Kníže Jehus, kníže Jhelom, kníže Koré. To jsou knížata z Olibamy, dcery Anovy, ženy Ezau.
The sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah, whose mother was Anah, were ancestors of the Jeush, Jalam, and Korah people-groups.
19 Tiť jsou synové Ezau, a ta knížata jejich; onť jest Edom.
That is the list of the sons of Esau, and the people-groups who were their descendants.
20 Tito pak jsou synové Seir, totiž Horejští, obyvatelé země té: Lotan, Sobal, Sebeon a Ana,
(This is/I will now give you) a list of the descendants of Seir, who belonged to the Hor people-group, who were the first people-group who lived in the Edom region: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
21 A Dison, Eser a Dízan. Ta jsou knížata Horejská, synové Seir, v zemi Idumejské.
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. Those seven men became ancestors of people-groups. Each of the people-groups had the same name as the name of their ancestor.
22 Synové Lotanovi byli: Hori a Hemam; a sestra Lotanova Tamna.
The sons of Lotan were Hori and Heman and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23 Synové pak Sobalovi tito: Alvan, Manáhat, Ebal, Sefo a Onam.
The sons of Shobal were Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 A tito synové Sebeonovi: Aia a Ana. To jest ten Ana, kterýž nalezl mezky na poušti, když pásl osly Sebeona otce svého.
The sons of Zibeon were Aiah and Anah. This Anah was the one who discovered the hot springs in the desert while he was taking care of his father Zibeon’s donkeys.
25 Tito pak děti Anovi: Dison a Olibama, dcera Anova.
Anah had two children—a son named Dishon and a daughter named Oholibamah.
26 A synové Dízanovi tito: Hamdan, Eseban, Jetran a Charan.
Dishon’s sons were Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.
27 Synové Eser tito: Balaan, Závan a Achan.
Ezer’s sons were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Tito synové Dízanovi: Hus a Aran.
Dishan’s sons were Uz and Aran.
29 Tato jsou knížata Horejská: Kníže Lotan, kníže Sobal, kníže Sebeon, kníže Ana,
The people-groups who were descendants of Hor lived in the Seir/Edom region. The names of the people-groups are Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
30 Kníže Dison, kníže Eser, kníže Dízan. To byla knížata Horejská, po knížetstvích svých v zemi Seir.
31 Tito pak byli králové, kteříž kralovali v zemi Idumejské, prvé než kraloval král nad syny Izraelskými.
These are the names of the kings who ruled in Edom before any kings ruled over Israel.
32 Kraloval tedy v Edom Béla, syn Beorův, a jméno města jeho Denaba.
Beor’s son Bela became the first king in Edom. The city where he lived was named Dinhabah.
33 I umřel Béla, a kraloval místo něho Jobab, syn Záre z Bozra.
When Bela died, Zerah’s son Jobab/became the king. He was from Bozrah [city].
34 I umřel Jobab, a kraloval na místě jeho Husam z země Temanské.
When Jobab died, Husham became the king. He was from the region where the Teman people-group lived.
35 Umřel i Husam, a kraloval místo něho Adad, syn Badadův, kterýž porazil Madianské v krajině Moábské; a jméno města jeho Avith.
When Husham died, Bedad’s son Hadan became the king. Husham’s army fought the army of the Midian people-group in the Moab region and defeated them. The city where Husham lived was Avith.
36 Když pak umřel Adad, kraloval místo něho Semla z Masreka.
When Hadad died, Samlah became the king. He was from Masrekah [town].
37 A po smrti Semlově kraloval na místě jeho Saul z Rohobot od řeky.
When Samlah died, Shaul became the king. He was from Rehoboth [town] along the [Euphrates] river.
38 Umřel i Saul, a kraloval místo něho Bálanan, syn Achoborův.
When Shaul died, Achbor’s son Baal-Hanan became king.
39 A když i Bálanan umřel, syn Achoborův, kraloval na místě jeho Adar; a jméno města jeho Pahu; jméno pak ženy jeho Mehetabel, dcera Matredy, dcery Mezábovy.
When Achbor’s son Baal-Hanan died, Hadad became king. The city where he lived was named Pau. His wife’s name was Mehetabel. She was the daughter of Matred, who was the daughter of Me-Zahab.
40 Ta jsou jména knížat pošlých z Ezau, po čeledech jejich, po místech jejich, vedlé jmen jejich: Kníže Tamna, kníže Alva, kníže Jetet,
(Here is/I will now give you) a list of all the people-groups that were descendants of Esau: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, Magdiel, and Iram. They all lived in the Edom region. The land where each people-group lived got the same name as the name of the people-group.
41 Kníže Olibama, kníže Ela, kníže Finon.
42 Kníže Kenaz, kníže Teman, kníže Mabsar.
43 Kníže Magdiel, kníže Híram. Tať jsou knížata Idumejská, tak jakž kteří bydlili v zemi dědictví svého. Toť jest ten Ezau, otec Idumejských.
