2 Mojžišova 1
1 Tato jsou pak jména synů Izraelských, kteříž vešli do Egypta s Jákobem; každý s čeledí svou přišel:
These are the names of the children of Israel, which came to Egipte with Iacob euery man with his housholde:
2 Ruben, Simeon, Léví a Juda;
Rube, Simeon, Leui, Iuda,
3 Izachar, Zabulon a Beniamin;
Isachar, Zabulon, Beniamin,
4 Dan a Neftalím, Gád a Asser.
Dan, Neptali, Gad ad Aser.
5 A bylo všech osob pošlých z bedr Jákobových sedmdesáte duší; Jozef pak byl v Egyptě.
All the soules that came out of the loynes of Iacob, were. LXX. and Ioseph was in Egipte all redie.
6 I umřel Jozef a všickni bratří jeho, a všecken ten rod.
when Ioseph was dead and all his brethern and all that generation:
7 Synové pak Izraelští rozmnožili se a rodili se v hojnosti; a rozhojňovali se, i zsilili se náramně velmi, a naplněna jest jimi země.
the children of Israel grewe, encreased, multiplied and waxed enceadinge myghtie: so that the londe was full of them.
8 V tom povstal král nový v Egyptě, kterýž neznal Jozefa.
Then there rose vp a new kynge in Egipte which knewe not Ioseph.
9 Ten řekl lidu svému: Aj, lid synů Izraelských jest mnohý a silnější nad nás.
And he sayde vnto his folke: beholde the people of the childre of Israel are moo ad mightier than we.
10 Nuže, opatrně sobě počínejme před ním, aby se nerozmohl; a když by přišla válka, aby se nepřipojil i on k nepřátelům našim, a nebojoval proti nám, a nevyšel z země.
Come on, let vs playe wisely with them: lest they multiplie, and then (yf there chaunce any warre) they ioyne them selues vnto oure enimies and fyghte ageynst vs, and so gete them out of the lande.
11 Protož ustanovili nad ním úředníky, kteříž by plat vybírali, aby je trápili břemeny svými. I vystavěl lid Izraelský Faraonovi města skladů, Fiton a Ramesses.
And he sette taskemasters ouer them, to kepe them vnder with burthens. And they byl vnto Pharao treasurecities: Phiton and Raamses.
12 Ale čím více trápili jej, tím více rostl a tím se více rozmáhal. I vzali sobě syny Izraelské v ošklivost.
But the more they vexed the, the moare they multiplied and grewe: so that they abhorred the childre of Israel.
13 A tak podrobovali Egyptští syny Izraelské v službu těžkou.
And the Egiptias helde the childern of Israel in bondage without mercie,
14 A k hořkosti přivodili život jejich robotami těžkými, v hlině a cihlách a ve všelijakém díle na poli, mimo všelikou potřebu svou, k níž práce jejich užívali nenáležitě a bez lítosti.
and made their lyues bitter vnto them with cruell laboure in claye and bricke, and all maner worke in the feldes, and in all maner of service, which they caused the to worke cruelly
15 I poručil král Egyptský babám Hebrejským, z nichž jedna sloula Sefora a druhá Fua,
And the kynge of Egipte sayde vnto the mydwiues of the Ebrueswomen, of which the ones name was Ziphra ad the other Pua:
16 A řekl: Když budete pomáhati ženám Hebrejským při porodu, a uzříte, že již rodí, byl-li by syn, zabíte ho, pakli dcera, tedy ať jest živa.
whe ye mydwiue the women of the Ebrues and se in the byrth tyme that it is a boye, kyll it. But yf it be a mayde, let it lyue.
17 Bály se pak ty baby Boha, a nečinily tak, jakž jim poručil král Egyptský, ale živých nechávaly pacholíků.
Notwithstonding the mydwiues feared God, and dyd not as the kinge of Egipte commauded them: but saued the menchildern.
18 Povolav tedy bab král Egyptský, mluvil jim: Proč jste to učinily, že jste živé zachovaly pacholíky?
The the kinge of Egipte called for the midwiues ad sayde vnto the: why haue ye delt on this maner and haue saued the menchildern?
19 I odpověděly baby Faraonovi: Nejsou ženy Hebrejské jako ženy Egyptské; nebo ony jsou silnějšího přirození. Dříve než přijde k nim baba, ony porodí.
And the mydwiues answered Pharao, that the Ebrues wemen were not as the wemen of Egipte: but were sturdie women, and were delyuered yer the midwyues came at them.
20 I učinil dobře Bůh těm babám. A rozmnožen jest lid, a zsilili se velmi.
And God therfore delt well with the midwyues. And the people multiplied and waxed very mightie.
21 Stalo se pak proto, že se bály baby ty Boha, vzdělal jim domy.
And because the mydwiues feared God, he made them houses.
22 I přikázal Farao všemu lidu svému, řka: Každého syna, kterýž se narodí, do řeky uvrzte; každé pak dcery nechte živé.
Than Pharao charged all his pepple sayng All the menchildern that are borne, cast in to the ryuer and save the maydchildern a lyue.
