Efezským 1
1 Pavel apoštol Jezukristův, skrze vůli Boží, svatým, kteří jsou v Efezu, a věrným v Kristu Ježíši:
PAUL, a legate of Jesus the Messiah by the pleasure of God, to them who are at Ephesus, sanctified, and believing in Jesus the Messiah:
2 Milost vám a pokoj od Boha Otce našeho a Pána Jezukrista.
Peace be with you, and grace from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
3 Požehnaný Bůh a Otec Pána našeho Jezukrista, kterýž požehnal nám všelikým požehnáním duchovním v nebeských věcech v Kristu.
Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, who hath blessed us with all blessings of the Spirit in heaven, by the Messiah:
4 Jakož vyvolil nás v něm před ustanovením světa k tomu, abychom byli svatí a neposkvrnění před obličejem jeho v lásce,
according as he had previously chosen us in him, before the foundation of the world, that we might be holy and without blame before him; and, in love, predestinated us for himself;
5 Předzřídiv nás k zvolení za syny skrze Ježíše Krista v sebe, podle dobře libé vůle své,
and adopted us for sons, in Jesus the Messiah, as was agreeable to his pleasure:
6 K chvále slávy milosti své, kterouž vzácné nás učinil v milém Synu svém.
that the glory of his grace might be glorified, which he poured upon us by his Beloved One;
7 V němžto máme vykoupení skrze krev jeho, totiž odpuštění hříchů, podle bohatství milosti jeho,
by whom we have redemption, and the forgiveness of sins by his blood, according to the riches of his grace,
8 Kterouž rozhojnil k nám ve vší moudrosti a opatrnosti,
which hath abounded in us, in all wisdom and all spiritual understanding.
9 Oznámiv nám tajemství vůle své podle dobré libosti své, kteroužto libost předuložil byl sám v sobě,
And he hath made us know the mystery of his pleasure, which he had before determined in himself to accomplish,
10 Aby v dokonání plnosti časů v jedno shromáždil všecko v Kristu, buďto nebeské věci, buďto zemské.
in the dispensation of the fullness of times; that all things might again be made new in the Messiah, things in heaven and things on earth.
11 V něm, pravím, v kterémžto i k losu připuštěni jsme, předzřízeni byvše, podle předuložení toho, jenž všecko působí podle rady vůle své,
And in him we are elected, according as he predestined us and willed, who worketh all things according to the counsel of his pleasure;
12 Abychom tak byli k chvále slávy jeho my, kteříž jsme prve naději měli v Kristu.
that we should be they who first hoped in the Messiah, to the honor of his glory.
13 V kterémžto i vy naději máte, slyševše slovo pravdy, totiž evangelium spasení vašeho, v němžto i uvěřivše, znamenáni jste Duchem zaslíbení Svatým,
In whom, ye also have heard the word of truth, which is the gospel of your life, and have believed in him; and have been sealed with the Holy Spirit, who was promised,
14 Kterýž jest závdavek dědictví našeho, na vykoupení toho, což jím dobyto jest, k chvále slávy jeho.
who is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of them that are alive, and for the praise of his glory.
15 Protož i já, slyšev o vaší víře v Pánu Ježíši, a o lásce ke všem svatým,
Therefore, lo I also, since I heard of your faith in our Lord Jesus the Messiah, and of your love towards all the saints,
16 Nepřestávám díků činiti z vás, zmínku čině o vás na modlitbách svých:
cease not to give thanks on your account, and to remember you in my prayers;
17 Aby Bůh Pána našeho Jezukrista, Otec slávy, dal vám Ducha moudrosti a zjevení, v poznání jeho,
that the God of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation, in the recognition of him;
18 A tak osvícené oči mysli vaší, abyste věděli, která by byla naděje povolání jeho a jaké bohatství slávy dědictví jeho v svatých,
and that the eyes of your hearts may be enlightened, so that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints;
19 A kterak jest převýšená velikost moci jeho k nám věřícím podle působení mocnosti síly jeho,
and what is the excellence of the majesty of his power in us who believe; according to the efficiency of the strength of his power,
20 Kteréž dokázal na Kristu, vzkřísiv jej z mrtvých a posadiv na pravici své na nebesích,
which he put forth in the Messiah, and raised him from the dead, and seated him at his right hand in heaven,
21 Vysoce nade všecko knížatstvo, i mocnosti, i moci, i panstvo, i nad každé jméno, kteréž se jmenuje, netoliko v věku tomto, ale i v budoucím. (aiōn g165)
high above all principalities, and authorities, and powers, and lordships, and above every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that to come: (aiōn g165)
22 A všecko poddal pod nohy jeho, a jej dal hlavu nade všecko církvi,
and he hath subjected all things under his feet; and hath given him who is high over all, to be the head of the church;
23 Kterážto jest tělo jeho a plnost všecko ve všech naplňujícího.
which is his body, and the fullness of him who filleth all in all:
