Kazatel 12
1 A pamatuj na stvořitele svého ve dnech mladosti své, prvé než nastanou dnové zlí, a přiblíží se léta, o nichž díš: Nemám v nich zalíbení;
And remember creator your in [the] days of youth your until that not they will come [the] days of evil and they will arrive years which you will say not [belongs] to me in them pleasure.
2 Prvé než se zatmí slunce a světlo, a měsíc i hvězdy, a navrátí se hustí oblakové po dešti;
Until that not it will become dark the sun and the light and the moon and the stars and they will return the clouds after the rain.
3 V ten den, v kterémž se třísti budou strážní domu, a nakřiví se muži silní, a ustanou melící, proto že jich málo bude, a zatmí se ti, kteříž vyhlédají z oken,
In the day when they will tremble [the] keepers of the house and they will bend themselves [the] people of strength and they will cease the [female] grinders for they have become few and they will grow dim the [women who] look in the windows.
4 A zavříny budou dvéře od ulice s slabým zvukem mlení, a povstanou k hlasu ptačímu, a přestanou všecky slibnosti zpěvu;
And they will be shut up [the] doors on the street when becomes low [the] sound of the grinding mill for someone may arise to [the] sound of bird and they may be reduced all [the] daughters of song.
5 Ano i vysokosti báti se budou, a úrazu na cestě, a kvésti bude mandlový strom, tak že i kobylka těžká bude, a poruší se žádost; nebo béře se člověk do domu věčného, a choditi budou po ulici kvílící;
Also from a high [place] people will be afraid and terrors [are] in the way and it may blossom the almond tree so it may drag itself along the grasshopper and it may fail the caper-berry for [is] going humankind to [the] house of perpetuity its and they will go about (in the street *L(abh)*) the mourners.
6 Prvé než se přetrhne provaz stříbrný, a než se rozrazí číše zlatá, a roztříští se věderce nad vrchovištěm, a roztrhne se kolo nad studnicí,
Until that not (it will be snapped *Q(K)*) [the] cord of silver so it may be crushed [the] bowl of gold so it may be broken [the] jar at the water spring and it will be crushed the [water] wheel to the well.
7 A navrátí se prach do země, jakž prvé byl, duch pak navrátí se k Bohu, kterýž jej dal.
And it will return the dust to the earth like which it was and the spirit it will return to God who he gave it.
8 Marnost nad marnostmi, řekl kazatel, a všecko marnost.
Futility of futilities he said the Teacher everything [is] futility.
9 Èím pak byl kazatel moudřejší, tím více vyučoval lid umění, a rozvažoval, zpytoval, i složil množství přísloví.
And besides that he was Teacher wise again he taught knowledge the people and he weighed and he searched out he arranged in order proverbs [surely] a multitude.
10 Snažovaltě se kazatel vyhledati věci nejžádostivější, a napsal, což pravého jest, a slova věrná.
sought Teacher to find words of delight and [what] was written uprightness [was] words of truth.
11 Slova moudrých podobná ostnům a hřebíkům vbitým, slova skladatelů, kteráž jsou vydána od pastýře jednoho.
[the] words of Wise [people] [are] like goads and [are] like nails firmly fixed masters of collections they are given from a shepherd one.
12 A tak tedy jimi, synu můj, hojně dosti osvícen býti můžeš. Dělání knih mnohých žádného konce není, a čísti mnoho jest zemdlení těla.
And excess more than them O child my be warned to make books many there not [is] an end and study much [is] weariness of flesh.
13 Summa všeho, což jsi slyšel: Boha se boj, a přikázaní jeho ostříhej, nebo na tom všecko člověku záleží.
[the] end of [the] matter Everything it has been heard God fear and commandments his keep for this [is] all humankind.
14 Poněvadž všeliký skutek Bůh přivede na soud, i každou věc tajnou, buďto dobrou, buďto zlou.
For every deed God he will bring in judgment with every hidden thing whether good and or evil.
