1 Páni spravedlivě a slušně s služebníky svými nakládejte, vědouce, že i vy Pána máte v nebesích.
Ye masters! that which is just and equitable, unto your servants, be rendering, knowing that, ye also, have a Master in heaven.
2 Na modlitbě buďtež ustaviční, bdíce v tom s díků činěním,
Unto prayer, be devoting yourselves, watching therein with thanksgiving:
3 Modléce se spolu i za nás, aby Bůh otevřel nám dveře slova, k mluvení o tajemství Kristovu, pro něž i v vězení jsem,
Praying, at the same time, for us also, —that, God, would open unto us a door for the word, so that we may speak the sacred secret of the Christ—for the sake of which also I am in bonds,
4 Abych je zjevoval, tak jakž mi náleží mluviti.
That I may make it manifest as behoveth me to speak.
5 Choďtež v moudrosti před těmi, kteříž jsou vně, čas kupujíce.
In wisdom, be walking towards them who are without, —the opportunity, buying out for yourselves,
6 Řeč vaše vždycky budiž příjemná, ozdobená solí, tak abyste věděli, kterak byste měli jednomu každému odpovědíti.
Your discourse being always with benefit, with salt, seasoned, —that ye may know how it behoveth you, unto each one, to be making answer.
7 O věcech mých o všech oznámí vám Tychikus, bratr milý, a věrný slouha Kristův a spoluslužebník v Pánu;
All the things which relate unto myself, shall Tychicus make known unto you—the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord,
8 Kteréhož jsem poslal k vám naschvál, aby zvěděl, co se děje u vás, a potěšil srdcí vašich,
Whom I have sent unto you, to this very end, —that ye may get to know the things which concern us, and he may encourage you hearts:
9 S Onezimem, věrným a milým bratrem, kterýž jest tam od vás. Tiť vám všecko oznámí, co se děje u nás.
Together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is from among you: —all things, unto you, will they make known, that [are taking place] here.
10 Pozdravuje vás Aristarchus, spoluvězeň můj, a Marek, sestřenec Barnabášův, (o kterémž jsem vám poručil, přišel-li by k vám, přijmětež jej; )
Aristarchus, my fellow-captive, saluteth you; and Mark, the first cousin of Barnabas, —concerning whom ye have received commands—if he come unto you, give him welcome;
11 A Jezus, kterýž slove Justus, kteřížto jsou Židé. Ti toliko jsou pomocníci moji v kázání o království Božím; tiť mi byli ku potěšení.
And Jesus, he that is called Justus, —they being of the circumcision; these only, [are my] fellow-workers unto the kingdom of God, men who have been, unto me, a comfort.
12 Pozdravuje vás Epafras, kterýž od vás jest, slouha Kristův, kterýž vždycky úsilně pracuje na modlitbách za vás, abyste stáli dokonalí a plní ve vší vůli Boží.
Epaphras who is from among you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, —at all times, contending in your behalf in his prayers, that ye may be caused to stand complete and fully assured in everything willed by God;
13 Nebo svědectví jemu vydávám, žeť vás velmi horlivě miluje, a též i ty, kteříž jsou v Laodicii, i kteříž jsou v Hierapoli.
For I bear him witness, that he hath great toil in behalf of you, and them in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
14 Pozdravuje vás Lukáš, lékař, bratr milý, a Démas.
Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, salute you.
15 Pozdravte bratří Laodicenských, i Nymfy, i té církve, kteráž jest v domu jeho.
Salute ye the brethren, in Laodicea, also Nymphas, and the assembly, which meeteth at her house.
16 A když bude přečten u vás tento list, spravtež to, ať jest i v Laodicenském sboru čten; a ten, kterýž jest psán z Laodicie, i vy také přečtěte,
And, as soon as the epistle hath been read amongst you, cause that, in the assembly of Laodiceans also, it be read; and, that from Laodicea, that, ye also, read.
17 A rcete Archippovi: Viz, abys služebnost, kterouž jsi přijal od Pána, vyplnil.
And say to Archippus: be taking heed unto the ministry which thou hast accepted in the Lord, —that, the same, thou fulfil.
18 Pozdravení mou rukou Pavlovou. Pamatujtež na mé vězení. Milost Boží budiž s vámi. Amen. List tento psán k Kolossenským z Říma po Tychikovi a Onezimovi.
