2 Tesalonickým 1

1 Pavel a Silván a Timoteus církvi Tessalonicenské v Bohu Otci našem a v Pánu Ježíši Kristu:

PAUL and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, which is in God our Father and our Lord Jesus the Messiah:

2 Milost vám a pokoj od Boha Otce našeho a od Pána Jezukrista.

Grace be with you, and peace, from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

3 Povinniť jsme díky činiti Bohu vždycky z vás, bratří, tak jakž hodné jest, protože velmi roste víra vaše a rozmáhá se láska jednoho každého z vás, všechněch k sobě vespolek,

We are bound to give thanks to God always, on your account, my brethren, as it is proper; because your faith groweth exceedingly, and, in you all, the love of each for his fellow increaseth.

4 Takže my se vámi v sbořích Božích chlubíme, vaší trpělivostí a věrou ve všech protivenstvích a souženích, kteráž snášíte;

Insomuch that we also boast of you in the churches of God, on account of your faith, and your patience in all the persecution and trials that ye endure;

5 Kterážto jsou zjevný důvod spravedlivého soudu Božího, abyste tak za hodné jmíni byli království Božího, pro něž i trpíte,

for a demonstration of the righteous judgment of God; that ye may be worthy of his kingdom, on account of which ye suffer.

6 Poněvadž spravedlivé jest u Boha, aby zase odplaceno bylo těm, kteříž vás sužují, soužením,

And since it is a righteous thing with God, to recompense trouble to them that trouble you:

7 Vám pak, úzkost trpícím, aby dáno bylo odpočinutí s námi, při zjevení Pána Ježíše s nebe, s anděly moci jeho,

and you, who are the troubled, he will vivify, with us, at the manifestation of our Lord Jesus the Messiah from heaven, with the host of his angels;

8 V plameni ohně, kterýž pomstu uvede na ty, jenž neznají Boha a neposlouchají evangelium Pána našeho Jezukrista,

when he will execute vengeance, with the burning of fire, on them that know not God, and on them that acknowledge not the gospel of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

9 Kteříž pomstu ponesou, věčné zahynutí, zahnáni jsouce od tváři Páně a od slávy moci jeho, (aiōnios g166)

For these will be recompensed with the judgment of eternal destruction, from the presence of our Lord, and from the glory of his power; (aiōnios g166)

10 Když přijde, aby oslaven byl v svatých svých a předivný ukázal se ve všech věřících, (nebo uvěřeno jest svědectví našemu u vás, ) v onen den.

when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to display his wonders in his faithful ones; for our testimony concerning you, will be believed, in that day.

11 Pročež i modlíme se vždycky za vás, aby vás hodné učiniti ráčil povolání toho Bůh náš a vyplnil všecku dobře libou vůli dobrotivosti své, i skutek víry mocně,

Therefore we pray for you, at all times; that God would make you worthy of your calling, and would fill you with all readiness for good deeds, and with the works of faith by power;

12 Aby oslaveno bylo jméno Pána našeho Jezukrista v vás a vy v něm, podle milosti Boha našeho a Pána Jezukrista.

so that the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, may be glorified in you, (and) ye also in him; according to the grace of God, and of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
