1 Královská 5
1 Poslal pak Chíram král Tyrský služebníky své k Šalomounovi, uslyšav, že ho pomazali za krále na místo otce jeho; nebo miloval Chíram Davida po všecky dny.
Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
2 Zase poslal Šalomoun k Chíramovi, řka:
Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3 Ty víš, že David otec můj nemohl vystavěti domu jménu Hospodina Boha svého pro války, kteréž jej obkličovaly, dokudž Hospodin nepodložil nepřátel pod nohy jeho.
"You know how that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
4 Ale nyní Hospodin Bůh můj dal mi odpočinutí všudy vůkol, není žádného protivníka, ani outoku nebezpečného.
But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side. There is neither adversary, nor evil occurrence.
5 Z té příčiny, aj, úmysl mám stavěti dům jménu Hospodina Boha svého, jakož mluvil Hospodin Davidovi otci mému, řka: Syn tvůj, kteréhož posadím místo tebe na stolici tvé, onť vystaví dům ten jménu mému.
Look, I purpose to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, 'Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build the house for my name.'
6 A protož nyní rozkaž, ať mi nasekají cedrů na Libánu. Budou pak služebníci moji s služebníky tvými, a mzdu služebníků tvých dám tobě, tak jakž díš. Nebo sám víš, že mezi námi není žádného, kdož by uměl sekati dříví, jako jsou Sidonští.
Now therefore command that they cut me cedar trees out of Lebanon. My servants shall be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you shall say. For you know that there is not among us any who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians."
7 Stalo se tedy, když uslyšel Chíram ta slova Šalomounova, že se zradoval náramně, a řekl: Požehnaný Hospodin budiž nyní, kterýž dal Davidovi syna moudrého nad tím lidem tak mnohým.
It happened, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, "Blessed is the LORD this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people."
8 I poslal Chíram k Šalomounovi, řka: Vyrozuměl jsem, oč jsi poslal ke mně; jáť učiním všecku vůli tvou z strany dříví cedrového i jedlového.
Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, "I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will satisfy all your desire concerning cedar wood and concerning the wood of evergreens.
9 Služebníci moji svezou je s Libánu až k moři, a dám je v vořích splaviti po moři až k místu tomu, kteréž mi ukážeš, a tu je složím; ty pak pobéřeš je a naplníš také vůli mou, dodávaje potravy čeledi mé.
My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you shall receive them. You shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household."
10 A tak dával Chíram Šalomounovi dříví cedrového a dříví jedlového, jakkoli mnoho chtěl.
So Hiram gave Solomon timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire.
11 Šalomoun také dával Chíramovi dvadceti tisíc měr pšenice ku pokrmu čeledi jeho, a dvadceti tisíc měr oleje vytlačeného. To dával Šalomoun Chíramovi každého roku.
Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty thousand baths of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
12 Když tedy dal Hospodin moudrost Šalomounovi, jakož mu byl zaslíbil, a byl pokoj mezi Chíramem a mezi Šalomounem, tak že mezi sebou učinili smlouvu:
The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and the two of them made a covenant.
13 Rozkázal král Šalomoun vybírati osoby ze všeho Izraele, a bylo vybraných třidceti tisíc mužů.
King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14 Z nichž posílal na Libán deset tisíců na každý měsíc, jedny po druhých. Jeden měsíc bývali na Libánu, a dva měsíce doma, Adoniram pak byl ustaven nad těmi vybranými.
He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
15 Měl také Šalomoun sedmdesáte tisíc nosičů, a osmdesáte tisíc těch, kteříž tesali na hoře,
Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains;
16 Kromě předních vládařů Šalomounových, kterýchž bylo nad dílem tři tisíce a tři sta. Ti představeni byli lidem, kteříž dělali.
besides Solomon's chief officers who were over the work, three thousand and six hundred, who bore rule over the people who labored in the work.
17 I přikázal král, aby navozili kamení velikého, kamení nákladného k založení toho domu, a kamení tesaného,
The king commanded, and they cut out great stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
18 Kteréž tesali kameníci Šalomounovi a kameníci Chíramovi a Gibličtí. A tak připravovali dříví i kamení k stavení domu toho.
Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
