1 Synové Judovi: Fáres, Ezron, Charmi, Hur a Sobal.
the sons of Judah, Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 Reaiáš pak syn Sobalův zplodil Jachata, Jachat pak zplodil Ahumai a Laad. Ti jsou rodové Zarati.
And, Reaiah son of Shobal, begat Jahath, and, Jahath, begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These, are the families of the Zorathites.
3 A tito z otce Etama: Jezreel, Isma a Idbas; a jméno sestry jejich Zelelfoni.
And, these, were the sons of Etam, Jezreel and Ishma, and Idbash, —and, the name of their sister, was Hazzelelponi;
4 Fanuel pak otec Gedor, a Ezer otec Chusův. Ti jsou synové Hur prvorozeného Efraty, otce Betlémských.
and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer, the father of Hushah. These, are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
5 Ashur pak otec Tekoe měl dvě manželky, Chélu a Naaru.
And, Ashhur the father of Tekoa, had two wives, —Helah, and Naarah.
6 I porodila jemu Naara Achuzama, Hefera, Temana a Achastara. Ti jsou synové Naary.
And Naarah bare him Ahuzzam and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These, were the sons of Naarah.
7 Synové pak Chéle: Zeret, Jezochar a Etnan.
And, the sons of Helah, were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.
8 Kóz pak zplodil Anuba, Hazobeba, a rodiny Acharchele syna Harumova.
And, Koz, begat Anub, and Zobebah, —and the families of Aharhel, the son of Harum.
9 Byl pak Jábez slavnější nad bratří své, a matka jeho nazvala jméno jeho Jábez, řkuci: Nebo jsem ho porodila s bolestí.
Now it came to pass that Jabez was more honourable than his brethren, —but, his mother, had called his name Jabez, ["he causes pain"] saying, Because I bare him with pain.
10 Kterýžto Jábez vzýval Boha Izraelského, řka: Jestliže štědře požehnáš mi, a rozšíříš meze mé, a bude ruka tvá se mnou, a vysvobodíš mne od zlého, abych bolesti netrpěl. I učinil Bůh, začež žádal.
So then Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldst, indeed bless, me, and enlarge my boundary, and that thy hand might be with me, —and that thou wouldst work [to deliver me] from evil, that it be not my pain. And God brought about that which he asked.
11 Chelub pak, bratr Sucha, zplodil Mechiru. Onť jest otec Estonův.
And, Chelub the brother of Shuhah, begat Mehir, the same, was the father of Eshton.
12 Eston pak zplodil Betrafa, Paseacha a Techinna, otce města Náchas. Ti jsou muži Rechy.
And, Eshton, begat Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir-nahash. These, are the men of Recah.
13 Synové pak Cenezovi: Otoniel a Saraiáš. Synové pak Otonielovi: Chatat.
And, the sons of Kenaz, were Othniel, and Seraiah, —and, the sons of Othniel, Hathath.
14 Meonatai pak zplodil Ofru, Saraiáš pak zplodil Joába, otce bydlících v údolí řemeslníků; nebo tam řemeslníci byli.
And, Meonothai, begat Ophrah, —and, Seraiah, begat Joab, the father of Ge-harashim, for they were, craftsmen.
15 Synové pak Kálefa, syna Jefonova: Iru, Ela a Naam. Syn pak Ela: Cenez.
And, the sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh, were Iru, Elah, and Naam, —and the sons of Elah and Kenaz.
16 Synové pak Jehalleleelovi: Zif, Zifa, Tiriáš a Asarel.
And, the sons of Jehallelel, Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 A synové Ezry: Jeter, Mered, Efer a Jalon. Porodila také Miriama, Sammai a Jezba otce Estemo.
And, the sons of Ezrah, Jether and Mered, and Epher and Jalon. And, these, are the sons of Bithia, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took, —and she conceived and bare Miriam and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.
18 Manželka pak jeho Jehudia porodila Jereda otce Gedor, a Hebera otce Socho, a Jekutiele otce Zanoe. A ti jsou synové Betie dcery Faraonovy, kterouž pojal Mered.
And, his wife, the Jewess, bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah.
19 Synové pak manželky Hodia sestry Nachamovy, otce Cejly: Garmi a Estemo Maachatský.
And, the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the father of Keilah, the Garmite, —and Eshtemoa, the Maacathite.
20 Synové pak Simonovi: Amnon, Rinna, Benchanan a Tilon. A synové Jesi: Zochet a Benzochet.
And, the sons of Shimon, Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan and Tilon. And, the sons of Ishi, Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.
21 Synové Séla syna Judova: Her otec Lechův, a Lada otec Maresův, a čeledi domu těch, jenž dělali díla kmentová v domě Asbea,
the sons of Shelah, the son of Judah, Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, —and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
22 A Jokim a muži Chozeby, Joas a Saraf, kteříž panovali v Moáb, a Jasubi Lechem. Ale ty věci jsou starodávní.
and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph who ruled for Moab, and Jashubi-lehem, —but, the records, are ancient.
23 Toť jsou ti hrnčíři obyvatelé v štěpnicích a ohradách u krále, příčinou díla jeho tam bydlíce.
They, were the potters and the inhabitants of Netaim, and Gederah, —with the king in his work, dwelt they there.
24 Synové Simeonovi: Namuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zára a Saul.
The sons of Simeon, Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul:
25 Sallum syn jeho, Mabsam syn jeho, Masma syn jeho.
Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
26 Synové pak Masmovi: Hamuel syn jeho, Zakur syn jeho, Semei syn jeho.
And, the sons of Mishma, Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
27 Ten Semei měl synů šestnácte a dcer šest. Bratří pak jejich neměli mnoho synů, tak že vší rodiny jejich nebylo tak mnoho, jako synů Judových.
And, Shimei, had sixteen sons, and six daughters, but, his brethren, had not many children, —nor did, any of their family, multiply so much as the sons of Judah.
28 Bydlili pak v Bersabé a Molada a v Azarsual,
And they dwelt in Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-shual;
29 A v Bála, v Esem a v Tolad,
and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad;
30 A v Betueli, v Horma a v Sicelechu,
and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag;
31 A v Betmarchabot, a v Azarsusim, v Betberi a v Saraim. Ta byla města jejich, dokudž kraloval David.
and in Beth-marcaboth, and in Hazar-susim, and in Beth-biri, and in Shaaraim. These, were their cities unto the reign of David.
32 Vsi také jejich při Etam, Ain, Remmon, Tochen, Asan, pěti městech.
And, their villages, were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, —five cities;
33 A tak všecky vesnice jejich, kteréž byly vůkol těch měst až do Baal, ta byla obydlé jejich vedlé rodu jejich.
and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These, were their habitations, and they had their own genealogical register.
34 A Mesobab, Jamlech a Josa syn Amazův;
And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah;
35 A Joel, a Jéhu syn Jozabiáše, syna Saraiášova, syna Azielova;
and Joel, —and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel:
36 A Elioenai, Jákoba, Jesochaiáš, Asaiáš, Adiel a Jesimeel a Benaiáš;
and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah:
37 A Ziza syn Sifi, syna Allonova, syna Jedaiášova, syna Simri, syna Semaiášova.
and Ziza, son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.
38 Tito ze jména vyčtení ustaveni jsou za knížata v čeledech svých, a čeledi otcovské jejich rozmnožily se náramně.
These, introduced by their names, were leading men in their families. And, their ancestral house, brake forth exceedingly;
39 A protož brali se, kudyž se vchází k Gedor, až k východu po údolí tom, aby hledali pastev dobytku svému.
so they went to the entering in of Gerar, unto the east of the valley, —to seek pasture for their flocks;
40 I nalezli pastvu hojnou a výbornou, zemi pak prostrannou, bezpečnou a pokojnou, a že z Chama byli ti, kteříž bydlili tam před tím.
and they found pasture, fat and good, and, the land, was broad on both hands, and quiet, and secure, —for, of Ham, were the dwellers there aforetime.
41 Protož přišedše ti napsaní ze jména ve dnech Ezechiáše krále Judského, pobořili stany jejich a příbytky, kteříž tam nalezeni byli, a zmordovali je, tak že jich do tohoto dne není, a sami osedli místo nich; nebo měli tu pastvu dobytku svému.
But these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim who were found there, and devoted them, until this day, and dwelt in their stead, —for there was pasture for their flocks, there.
42 Někteří pak z těch synů Simeonových odebrali se na horu Seir, mužů pět set, jichž Pelatia, Neariáš, Refaiáš a Uziel, synové Jesi, byli vůdcové.
And, some of them, of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, five hundred men, —with Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head;
43 I vyplénili ostatek těch, kteříž ušli z Amalechitských, a bydlili tam až do tohoto dne.
and they smote the remainder that had escaped, of the Amalekites, —and dwelt there—[as they have] unto this day.
