Římanům 14
1 Mdlého pak u víře přijímejte ne k hádkám o otázkách.
Receive anyone who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of disputing about opinions.
2 Nebo někdo věří, že může jísti všecko; jiný pak mdlý jsa, jí zelí.
One person believes that he may eat anything, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.
3 Ten kdož jí, nepokládej sobě za nic toho, kdož nejí; a kdo nejí, toho nepotupuj, kdož jí. Nebo Bůh přijal jej.
The one who eats must not despise the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat must not judge the one who eats, for God has received him.
4 Ty kdo jsi, abys tupil cizího služebníka? Však Pánu svému stojí, aneb padá. Budeť pak ustaven; mocen jest zajisté Bůh utvrditi jej.
Who are yoʋ to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
5 Nebo někdo rozsuzuje mezi dnem a dnem, a někdo soudí každý den. Jeden každý v svém smyslu ujištěn buď.
One person considers one day to be more important than another, while another person considers every day to be alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
6 Kdož dnů šetří, Pánu šetří; a kdo nešetří, Pánu nešetří. A kdo jí, Pánu jí, nebo děkuje Bohu; a kdož nejí, Pánu nejí, a děkuje Bohu.
He who observes a particular day, observes it in honor of the Lord, while he who abstains from observing a particular day, abstains in honor of the Lord. He who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, for he gives thanks to God, while he who abstains from eating, abstains in honor of the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.
7 Žádný zajisté z nás není sám sobě živ, a žádný sobě sám neumírá.
For none of us lives for himself, and none of us dies for himself.
8 Nebo buď že jsme živi, Pánu živi jsme; buď že mřeme, Pánu mřeme. A tak buď že jsme živi, buď že umíráme, Páně jsme.
If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
9 Na toť zajisté Kristus i umřel, i z mrtvých vstal, i ožil, aby nad živými i nad mrtvými panoval.
For this reason Christ died and then rose and lived again, so that he might be Lord over both the dead and the living.
10 Ty pak proč potupuješ bratra svého? Aneb také ty proč za nic pokládáš bratra svého? Však všickni staneme před stolicí Kristovou.
Yoʋ, then, why do yoʋ judge yoʋr brother? Or yoʋ, why do yoʋ despise yoʋr brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 Psáno jest zajisté: Živť jsem já, praví Pán, žeť přede mnou bude klekati každé koleno, a každý jazyk vyznávati bude Boha.
For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before me, and every tongue will give praise to God.”
12 A takť jeden každý z nás sám za sebe počet vydávati bude Bohu.
So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
13 Nesuďmež tedy více jedni druhých, ale toto raději rozsuzujte, abyste nekladli úrazu neb pohoršení bratru.
Therefore let us no longer judge one another. Instead, resolve not to put any stumbling block or snare before your brother.
14 Vímť a ujištěn jsem v Pánu Ježíši, žeť nic nečistého není samo z sebe; než tomu, kdož tak soudí, že by nečisté bylo, jemuť nečisté jest.
I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in and of itself, but it is unclean for anyone who considers it to be unclean.
15 Ale bývá-liť rmoucen bratr tvůj pro pokrm, již nechodíš podlé lásky. Nepřivozujž k zahynutí pokrmem svým toho, za kteréhož Kristus umřel.
If yoʋr brother is distressed by what yoʋ eat, yoʋ are no longer walking in love. Do not let what yoʋ eat destroy someone for whom Christ died.
16 Nebudiž tedy v porouhání dáno dobré vaše.
And do not let what you consider good to be spoken of as evil.
17 Království zajisté Boží není pokrm a nápoj, ale spravedlnost a pokoj a radost v Duchu svatém.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
18 Nebo kdož v tom slouží Kristu, milý jest Bohu a lidem příjemný.
Anyone who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
19 Protož následujme toho, což jest ku pokoji a k vzdělání společnému.
So then, let us pursue what brings about peace and mutual edification.
20 Nekaziž pro pokrm díla Božího. Všecko zajisté čisté jest, ale zlé jest člověku, kterýž jí s pohoršením.
Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes another to stumble.
21 Dobré jest nejísti masa a nepiti vína, ani na čem se koli uráží bratr tvůj, neb horší, aneb zemdlívá.
It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything by which yoʋr brother stumbles or is offended or made weak.
22 Ty víru máš? Mějž ji sám u sebe před Bohem. Blahoslavený, kdož nesoudí sebe samého v tom, což oblibuje.
Do yoʋ have a firm belief about these things? Have it privately before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself by what he approves.
23 Ale kdož pak rozpakuje se, kdyby jedl, potupen jest, nebo ne z víry jí. A cožkoli není z víry, hřích jest.
But whoever doubts is condemned if he eats, because his action is not based on faith; and anything that is not based on faith is sin.
