Žalmy 82

1 Žalm Azafův. Bůh stojí v shromáždění Božím, u prostřed bohů soud čině, a dí:

A psalm of Asaph. God stands in the divine assembly; in the midst of the gods he renders judgment.

2 Dokudž souditi budete nespravedlivě, a osoby nešlechetných přijímati? (Sélah)

How long will you judge unjustly and show favoritism to the wicked? (Selah)

3 Zastávejte bídného a sirotka, utištěného a chudého spravedliva vyhlašujte.

Defend the poor and fatherless; maintain the rights of the afflicted and destitute.

4 Vytrhněte bídného a nuzného, z ruky nešlechetných vytrhněte ho.

Rescue the poor and needy; take them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 Ale nevědí nic, nerozumějí nic; ve tmách ustavně chodí, až se proto všickni základové země pohybují.

They neither know nor understand; they wander around in the darkness; all the foundations of the earth crumble.

6 Řeklť jsem já byl: Bohové jste, a synové Nejvyššího vy všickni;

I said, “You are gods, and all of you sons of the Most High.

7 A však jako i jiní lidé zemřete, a jako jeden z knížat padnete.

Nevertheless you will die like men and fall like one of the princes.”

8 Povstaniž, ó Bože, suď zemi; nebo ty dědičně vládneš všemi národy.

Arise, God, judge the earth, for you have an inheritance in all the nations.
